Breakfast burritos from Montes are large, customized, burritos made with great tasting tortillas. The tortillas are homemade, soft, and delicious. The chorizo and egg burritos were very good. The green salsa is very hot, and goes well with chorizo and eggs. The order process is quick and easy as you drive thru ordering / pickup on opposite sides of the building. This is a drive through restaurant that is extremely busy. You pull in and order at one window, drive around the building to pay and collect food at the other. There was also a place to walk up and order, but I wouldn't recommend that unless you park at the business next door due to the volume of cars in the parking lot. The wait for 4 breakfast burritos was long and took about 15 mins. They have a good green salsa, I didn't try the red. The burritos are average. Reading other reviews I thought I was in for something fantastic. My main complaint is that all of the burritos barely had meat. They were basically all eggs and a light sprinkle of cheese I paid extra for. Between two burritos there was not even a full slice of bacon. The other two were different meats but also had barely any in it. For as long as we waited I expected everything to be piping hot, like steam coming out of it when I opened it. It wasn't. It was barely warm so I guess I was waiting for the people ahead of me. Also the burritos we had didn't have that crisp straight off the griddle taste with the tortilla. These tortillas were borderline soggy. The food tastes good but the lack of meat combined with the wait is a deal breaker for me. I won't return. read more

Thursday morning about 9:45am - I cruised in to the drive thru. There was only one car in front of me so I was hopeful I wouldn't be here long but I wasn't in a hurry. I ordered 4 burritos - on my way to my parents house for breakfast. After ordering, I pulled around to the "pay" side to wait. Several more cars/trucks came. I got on my phone to let the parents know I was waiting for food. One car left, we moved forward. Another car left and we moved forward again leaving just me and one other car in front of me and a line of cars behind me. (AND here's where it goes sideways...) A young girl comes out the back door with 4 or 5 orders in hand and proceeds to go to EVERY car and truck BEHIND me and hand out orders! I watched as they all drove around me and left. I stopped to pray and tried to remember that I wasn't in a hurry to begin with. A few minutes later, a huge bag is handed to the car in front of me and now it is my turn. I drive to the window only to hear the girl at the window ask me "what did you order?" They can deliver 5 cars behind me and 4 cars in front of me but couldn't remember my order! I wasn't mad. Tried to pump himself up with attitude. I ASK TO BUY EXTRA SAUCE. Your amazing co-workers, (all the ladies working that day) told no worries we'll give a couple of extra. Took my wife today. She got the Yellowjacket, loved it. I got the American an added bacon, however er this is the second time they forgot to add the bacon that I paid extra for, had to turn around and get that added. Was super good! Found out on this trip that they make their own tortillas for their burritos. Evidently they can make them to almost any size. The lady at the window said they've had one or for 6x size! I got the extra large and it barely held the stuff that was in it, and it was considerably larger than the normal large that they usually make. Good place for fresh breakfast goods, and they have more than just breakfast burritos. read more

The food here has changed. I ordered here a about 6 months ago and the food was very good. homemade tortilla grilled meats and flavored very nicely. Today I got some breakfast burritos, some guacamole which I have had before, and their cheese sauce which I have also had before. The breakfast burritos no longer had homemade tortillas and had a weird flavor. And for the second time even though I reminded them they forgot my chorizo and beans or they do not know what chorizo and beans are. The cheese sauce was thin and sweet? The guacamole was still good but the chips and thin and very hard. The whole thing was a disaster. I don't know what happened here but it is not good. Very bland and dry burrito. The drive thru was packed which got us really excited. Unfortunately never judge a book by its cover. I got sausage egg and cheese burrito in a large and my husband got the chorizo burrito in an XL. His wasn't much bigger than mine and his was also dry, which is unusual for fatty chorizo, which we love usually. This place is always busy so you know it's good! It's more like take out times rather than fast food so if you're in a rush it's better to go somewhere else. I had the taco salad, it was pretty small but delicious. It comes with a sweet tea. My husband always gets the Barbacoa which is delishious. Second time I have visited Montes and these are the best burritos for the price I have seen recently. I normally get two burritos and they are $7 total. I have gotten the barbacoa twice and I have tried the Al Pastor and Chorizo and egg. Best barbacoa I have had in a while. Highly recommend visiting if you are traveling through Cleburne. read more

Got recommendations from several people and decided to try. Ordered the yellow jacket with extra bacon and the bacon & egg burritos. On the yellow jacket all the bacon was at one end and even though the ticket said bacon and egg there was no bacon on it. Don't think I will try again. I have eaten food from Montie's several times since moving to Cleburne, this morning however was much different. I walked up to the order window, I gave the young lady my order. 4 breakfast burritos, I paid for my order and stood outside to wait for my order. There were 2 people ahead of me waiting for their orders also. After I ordered there were 4 others that ordered after me. After very few minutes the orders started coming out, the people who were there before me got their orders (of course), then the people that arrived after me started getting their orders, the 3 more people arrived and ordered also. After 15 minutes of waiting, I approached the window to ask about my order. I spoke to the same young lady that took my order, I asked her "how much longer please?" She finally responded and 'asked "What did you have." I again repeated my order. She said she had forgotten to turn my order in. I waited another 10 minutes while people walked up after me, they ordered and received their food in 2 or 3 minutes. Still my order was not filled. I asked to cancel my order and asked for a refund. No response at all. I asked again for a refund, to which this young lady explained "we don't give refunds." I asked to talk to the manager, again no response. I couldn't get my food (which was paid for in advance) and I couldn't get my money back. The young lady then said to me, "We don't want your business, move along." I have experienced overt racism several times but this was the worse example, all of the people that received their orders were Latino, I am not, it was pretty obvious to see. I will never do business with Monties again. Evidently 'Gringos' and their money are not welcome at Monties. read more

Foodie Says- little walk up/drive through shack serves up solid Burritos. Always hot and fresh home made tortillas. They have red and green sauce. I prefer the green sauce but is super hot at times, just warning the weak of heart. Cons drive through area not great, building needs a little attention. The lady's that work there are always very nice and polite. My biggest complaint is that the burritos are small or do not have a lot of "filling" on the inside. I can deal w that bc the burritos are pretty cheap in price. So I just get two. But if your looking for a "chipotle" mega burrito, this isn't the place. Two thumbs up! read more
