Big Cup Skillet

Another GREAT breakfast! Excellent service! Sparkling clean restrooms! Wish they would clean the windows though. All the seating was very clean and in excellent condition.

Chilaquiles Mayas*

Wow! This place was amazing! We went to dinosaur valley for the first time, when we were leaving I looked up a place to have breakfast and I'm so glad we went there. Place was clean, service was fast, and food was AMAZING! Definitely going to be our new tradition to come here every time we come to Glen Rose. What a great experience.

The Southern Plate is their signature giant biscuit with hash browns and two eggs smothered in sausage gravy. Huge and good.

We got to go to the Big Cup Eatery on the day we left Oakdale RV Park which lays claim to having the biggest biscuits in Texas. Well, how could I not try one of those? I ordered the Southern Plate which incorporates said gigantic biscuit and I can attest to the sheer size of this thing. The dish includes two eggs, hash browns and country sausage gravy in a big pile of carbohydrates. And I freaking loved it. The flavor was good enough that I didn't salt it which is saying something. My better half had the Quesadilla burger which was about $10 and is a big burger in a tortilla. She ordered hers with seasoned fries on the side. Also very good. The service was friendly and prompt and the food arrived in a timely fashion. I thought the place was clean and friendly and the prices were really fair for all the food we got. Overall two thumbs up on Big Cup Eatery. Yum-o!

Chilaquiles Mayas* Very flavorful and delicious

The food was 10/10 I got the chilaquiles Mayas super flavorful and amazing! Our waitress Holly was nice and constantly checked on us. We drove over an hour and a half away just for the banana caramel French toast for my husband to eat again so that should say a lot about their food! We will definitely be back again and hopefully soon.

Big cup = big yum! We came in from out of town and the food was so good! We came two days in a row and didn't have to eat for the rest of the day! The biscuits are my husband's favorite.

The wife and I stopped in this place with our 2 teenage grandchildren on the way to Ft Worth. We thought we had found a hidden gem because there were 4 police cars there and that's usually a good sign. I had all of us rate their own experience so that I could get an overall rating so this is what we came up with. The grilled chicken sandwich got a 5, the chicken strips and catfish got a 3 and the chicken fried steak got a 1 it was very tough and overcooked.. the service was fine and friendly but never came back for drink refills. The place offered no good or bad decor. It was clean and well kept. Overall we all agreed that a 3 star rating was fair.

Went there for our goodbye brunch after dinosaur valley state park. Glen rose being a very small town, has limited options. My husband and I and two children under 3 we spent about $70 bucks. It was mediocre at best. I got "chicken and waffles" and it was a waffle with clearly frozen chicken strips on top. We mostly went because the kids menu has Mickey Mouse shaped pancakes. The kids enjoyed that, but the prices are like being top notch food from a bed and breakfast and/or I hop without the quality.

Service is amazing! My husband got the Mushroom Swiss Burger and I got the Chicken Taco Salad! BOTH ARE AMAZING! We will be returning :)

We were seriously about to pull into a gas station and get coffee to go and then Big Cup caught our eye. Such a wonderful impulsive stop. We both ordered migas which were devoured too quickly to photograph. In the entryway the Big Cup Eatery boasts "Home of the biggest biscuits in Texas." Well hell yeah, we had to order one of those to share too. It was flaky and delicious and didn't even need added butter or jelly. Oh and the coffee that we had originally stopped for was piping hot and so good! The waitstaff was really nice and our food came out quickly. Would definitely recommend this stop.

Blackie's on the Square - Great steak for dinner!

Blackie's on the Square

The restaurant is a decent size, but probably not so great for larger parties (10+). We were greeted right away by our waitress and she was very kind and attentive throughout our entire meal. We were told the restaurant was out of particular menu items, so if you're going later in the day we'd recommend calling beforehand or asking right away. To drink I got myself a "Crown and Coke" and ordered the "Pan Seared Chicken" as my entree. The Pan Seared Chicken was DELICIOUS. The plate consisted of: an 8 oz Airline Chicken Breast, served with mashed potatoes, pearl onions, wild arugula all soaked with a Espelette Beurre Blanc. The seasoning in the chicken was so flavorful and the skin on the chicken was cooked perfectly crispy. The beurre blanc elevated all of the other components of the dish and it left me wanting more. Absolutely delicious. Aside from the delicious food and wonderful service the ambience also contributed to our experience--multiple TVs with sporting events playing and live music on a small stage. Overall we had an amazing experience, highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back if we are ever in the area!!!

We loved the rustic charm and friendly service. I ordered a ribeye which had an excellent flame grilled flavor. Sadly, that was the only thing that had flavor. My Brussels sprouts tasted bland and barely cooked, Mac and cheese wanted to be good, but missed the mark. My wife a wagyu burger that looked like a burger but lacked any flavor. The homemade fries were soggy and squishy. Dessert was a cookie skillet with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate swirl cheesecake. Do you remember having covid where food lost all taste? You knew what you were eating, but tasted nothing? Unfortunately that was our meal . Staff were lovely, peppy and full of joy. Sadly it didn't seep over into the food. I'm looking forward to coming back to glen rose to explore more, it just won't be here.
