Food was so the chicken tenders and club sandwich we got were very fresh and tasty. The appetizers we order (Fried picked and a half order of the fajita nachos) were great! We go here every year after we have our reunion to have breakfast and say our goodbyes. Our reservations were for 10am. There were some other groups that came in that were alittle smaller so we realize that there will be alittle wait. Ordered our food, receipt says 10:36am. Two of us finally got our food about 11:50. Everyone else was done eating and actually waiting for us to finish up. They were serving our same dishes to others in the restaurant while we ordered ours almost 1.5 hours earlier. Food wasn't anything to brag about except for the biscuits. Went to check out and the server didn't give us an individual bill. Went to counter, paying was a nightmare, drinks were missed when checking out and they couldn't get the machine to work.. another 15 minutes and expect a free or at least a big discount for waiting for so long for our food. A 20% discount for waiting 1.5 hours for our food is totally unacceptable. If you provide bad service and/or wait time then you should admit it and make it right! There was no making anything right. Very disappointed and this was only what happened to us. The wrong food was brought out a few times. Need more organization in the kitchen, with waitstaff being able to organize a ticket and make things right when things go wrong. read more

The service was so nice, checked on us, kept our drinks filled and kept the salsa and chips flowing! I had the club sandwich, my husband had chilaquiles, and kids had breakfast platter with egg, sausage patties, and pancakes and pastor tacos. The highlight for me was the biscuits and gravy!!! Passing through Glen Rose, Sunday March 20, 2022, going from Fort Worth to San Antonio and decided to have an early dinner. Family of 4. 2 adults, 2 kids. We stopped at Big Cup Eatery and unfortunately, regret it. I'm the type of yelper that tries to leave great reviews and always give credit where it is due. That being said, I would give this place 1 star but am giving it 2 because I liked our waitress but didn't catch her name. The good: our waitress was really friendly and made the place feel at home. She was outgoing and funny. She was completely on top of making sure we stayed filled up on chips and salsa. I felt she's a great example of a family friendly restaurant and absolutely deserved praise as I can tell she works hard! The bad: first off, getting seated wasn't a problem like most reviews mentioned. But we waited there for a lot longer than I expected to get our food. Like I said, we were on a trip and the wait put us out of way more than I liked. Not an issue if you have a great experience and great food tho. The food was decent tasting. Nothing special. The beans were bland and everything was honestly, just ok. The ugly: you guys, my poor kids got food poisoning so bad after eating here. After leaving, I knew I wasn't feeling my best but I kept it quiet so that my kids didn't start making up symptoms, haha. But let me tell you, I have a 7 year old that Is no stranger to throwing up and even he was saying he thinks he needed a nurse from how much pain he was in. I felt so bad for them both as it was a terrible and unfortunate experience. Thankfully, after a long evening and night of tears and vomiting, they are both feeling much better. I'm glad I didn't end up ordering any of the seafood (shrimp tacos) there like I originally thought to. We've eaten here a few times while visiting Glen Rose. Each time the service has been on par. The food is solid, the menu is extensive, the place is clean and our party has always enjoyed the food. They have huge biscuits, homemade tortillas, great coffee and, all around, really worth popping in for what it is. Hometown sort of food. Jessie, our waitress, never missed a best. She had one whole side of the restaurant and handled it with ease. Kudos to her self discipline and skill to handle it all and with a mask on the whole time. Didn't pay too much attention (actually no attention) to our table. I had to go to the counter to pay. So the subpar service is the reason one star is subtracted. The food was delicious and given in generous proportions. We had to have to-go boxes to take home the left overs. Right off the bat let's get one thing straight. Their "Biggest biscuits in Texas" claim is bogus. They're big, but far from being a biscuit. Think of them as a giant , dense, horrible dinner roll. The device was lacking and what should have been a rather quick meal to prepare took an hour. Then was served cold. The coffee is a joke and I'm wondering why there are ANY good reviews on here! Amazing food! We stopped here after our hike at Dinosaur Valley state park! Our girls loved the Mickey Mouse pancakes! I got a full order of their fajitas, highly recommend because all of their ingredients were fresh and the tortillas were handmade! The staff were all incredibly friendly. It's located next to a motel and the layout is a little weird, lots of doors and walls LOL but don't be fooled by the location. What a gem this place is. Its not fancy by any means but was delicious. It's a huge menu and something for everyone. I had chicken fried steak which was awesome. We had a very large group and they were able to accommodate all of us and all our orders. In my humble opinion, you can always judge a roadside eatery by the way they make a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. Inferior joints throw them together with what seems like leftover scraps, light on bacon, and meager when it comes to toppings. Not so at the Big Cup Eatery! The BLT here was what I can only describe as "super deluxe." Stacked with more bacon than anyone could ever want, this sandwich was ample in proportion and big on taste. Plenty of fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and fixed just the way I like it: on white toast with plenty of mayo. I loved the fries, too. Instead of the usual run-of-the-mill frozen potato sticks, Big Cup uses a special cutter to cross cut neat little lattices that are fried to perfection. No grease, hand made ... and lots of flavor. Would I stop at the Big Cup again? That's a no brainer, especially when I'm in the mood for my favorite comfort food, the venerable BLT sandwich.
