Friendly and helpful people. Good comfort food. They have a wide variety of dishes on their menu. Their Mexican dishes highlight the menu but they serve a lot of chicken fried steak too. My family likes their burgers as well. read more

This place could not have had worse service. My husband and I arrived early morning around 10:00 am, we waited for 15 minutes in an empty entry way to be sat. FINALLY a very unfriendly host who didn't even greet us came out from a kitchen and begrudgingly walked us to a booth where we sat another 15 minutes without anyone coming by and asking for our drink order or even apologizing for the wait time. THERE WERE ONLY FOUR OTHER TABLES OF PEOPLE IN THE WHOLE ESTABLISHMENT!!!! They were not busy so we were confused by the lack of attentiveness we were receiving. We both ended up walking out with hungry stomachs and never being greeted or acknowledged at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IN THE SLIGHTEST!!!! read more

Most days it's really good and the service is awesome. It's set up odd though and you get the feeling you are in someone's house with the noise and the staff all over the place. read more

Big cup is our favorite place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! Always great service and our favorite home cooking-style dishes! Thanks, Elizabeth, for a great experience today! read more

This establishment offered a variety of menu items. I decided to go with the cheeseburger and seasoned fries. I have to say the meat was just mediocre(almost seemed like a frozen patty). However, I was able to overlook it because of the yummy jalepeno grilled bread. I think the menu stated it was a jalapeño sourdough bread but it looked like a ciabatta bread. Not spicy either but flavorful! Either way, it was quite tasty and made the burger hit the spot! The fries were average & nothing special but fried. My friends got the blt, club sandwich, & combo nachos. They seemed to like it. Big Cup didn't seem to skimp either on their portions. read more

Went one day for a school trip and was recommended at the convenience store. Really like it so I went back this weekend with family, and they couldn't say enough good things. Super bug menu. Anything for a juicy hamburger to a quesadilla to mexican enchiladas, all at great accessible prices. Service was great too! Definetely recommend if you're visiting:) read more

Enjoyed our meal... food was really good but the service was slow. I felt like it was slightly overpriced, not by much but one adult and one child for breakfast was $25 and we drank water. read more

I had a cheeseburger and it was really good. My fishing buddy had an omelette and toast and bacon and ham and a number of other things. He reported all was very good. We had caught about 80 fish that day and we were tired and hungry. BigCup did their job. Can't wait to go back. read more

Best french toast! 5 stars per my 12 yo daughter. Great customer service. Food is always fresh and delicious.

If you are expecting good service or food steer clear of this restraunt . We walked in and the hostess acted like it was a chore even to seat us . Didn't even ask if where she sat it was okay. My husband had to ask for a refill of coffee,I never got a refill for my Dr.Pepper . Food took a while to come . Do not order PECAN CRUSHED FISH . You will get a piece of fish ,not even grilled with chopped pecans on the top. My baked potato was not cooked all the way. Worst restraunt experience ,EVER! read more

We went to the Dinosaur Park and had as miserable of an experience as I have ever had. We waited approx 40 minutes for an egg whit omelette which, to my surprise, came with a half dozen hairs on top. Hard pass! read more

This place is my favorite in Glen Rose! Husband gets breakfast no matter what time it is. Says their hash browns are perfect. I prefer their steak. It's delicious. They offer avocados as a side, so bonus points for that. Their grilled shrimp is absolutely to die for. Their carne asade tacos are so flavorful. My biggest problem is trying to decide what to order- or should I say take home because their chips and salsa/queso are delicious. The picky teenage spawn says the soup is fantastic and she loves the avocado side choice, as well. The coffee and tea are even good! Staff is great! Prices are reasonable. read more

We were really hoping to find a new spot for breakfast. They boast the biggest biscuits but unfortunately not the best or even close. They are tasteless and more like a bad roll. The gravy was a mix not homemade. Very disappointing. Our breakfast was expensive and not worth the long wait. We stood at the entry waiting for someone to seat us for quite a while with everyone just passing by us and not even saying hi or good morning. Our waitress was more interested in visiting with the other employees than providing service. We only live 30 miles away but we will not be back. read more

We've been coming to this spot for over ten years. It's always been very good. Unfortunately, owners sold four months ago (after 20 years of ownership) and both service and quality of food have been declining. We are from Granbury and many friends had mentioned the change but we wanted to give it a fair chance. Don't waste your money or time. It's very disappointing. The owner, 'Prog' came over and apologized for both but had no remedy. It's sad when a local spot is lost! read more

Biggest biscuits...biggest let down. Drove to Glen Rose this morning expecting one heck of a breakfast based on numerous raving reviews from friends. Showed up mid-Tuesday morning to an almost empty restaurant and still waited 35 minutes for fried eggs that arrived cold. The sausage and grits were good, if unremarkable. The biscuit, though definitely "The Biggest in Texas", was dense and nothing special. Wasn't offered a (mediocre) coffee refill until we were almost done with our meal. Waited 5 minutes at the counter to pay our bill because the hostess had wandered off somewhere and left the front unattended. Good thing no one was waiting to be seated...or walked their tab. When the hostess finally showed up she was on the phone taking a to-go order while processing our payment. Didn't say one word to us. Didn't tell us the total, ask how our meal was, thank us for coming in...nothing. Just handed me a pen to sign, without ever making eye contact, and kept right on going with her phone conversation. Horrible service and terribly average food. Will not return. read more

Great breakfast and wonderful, friendly service. We were just passing through and we got a recommendation from the hotel to come here for breakfast. Glad we listened! read more

1st the chicken fry was over cooked. The gravy is out of a packet with lumps. The green beans are frozen and watery. 2nd plate was breakfast. I ordered over easy eggs. They came out slimey. I told the wAitress that was sunny side up she got rude and told me if I wanted it non slimey I should have ordered over medium. The sausage and pancakes were okay. $24 and most got thrown away. Disappointing. Not freshly made food at all. read more

Found this place on the way to Fossil Rim and stopped in for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was great. The biscuits are huge. We had the Southern Plate and Eggs with Chicken Fried Steak. I recommend both. read more

The food is fairly good but the wait for it to arrive is terrible! We waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food. Then it arrives and our granddaughter's salad wasn't delivered for another 15 minutes nor was the syrup for our grandson's pancakes. Again food is pretty good but service and wait is TERRIBLE! Later I went to the restroom and watched their own employee wash her hands and throw her paper towel on the floor. We all walked out cranky and rather angry. read more

Good food and decent service - typical of a small town establishment. The servers were friendly and the restaurant and bar were clean. The price was reasonable for the portion sizes. read more

The food was decent. We had the queso (not the classic white cheese but it's still good), the biscuit (it is enormous but it's not all that good, more like a cross between a biscuit and just regular bread), the kids hamburger (it was overly "well done"... like... crispy dark edges and dry), taco salad (decent but not great and the taco shell was over done as well, a bit dark), and a salad with chicken on top. The service was real bad. The waitress took 20 minutes to greet us and we were hoping that was it but no, it was a pattern. She would go 20-30 minutes between visits to the table. So drink order....wait...drinks & order....waaaiiittt..... oh yeah you guys ordered queso! (It was made on time I think cuz it had that dried film on top like it had sat in the window for awhile til she remembered us)....waaaaiiitttt..... food (forgot ketchup, forgot dressing for the salad, etc) .... Wait... went to ask if someone could help us out with what we were missing so we could eat... she comes out of the kitchen "well I asked em!!" (Gee thanks, throw us under the bus. No need to take responsibility ) *dressing & ketchup* .... [ps the middle aged lady behind us accidentally unplugged her headphones and blared porn audio right around this time, not the restaurant's fault but JEEZ!! clapped my hands over my 6 year old's ears and hoped we could get the check and get the heck out of this terrible experience].... Wait... asked for to go boxes.... Short wait... boxes & check - got up to leave & pay up front when she offered to run the card. My son and I went ahead to the car #Escape Yeah... we won't be back read more

We ate dinner on Monday night, December 30. They should get 5 stars just for being open! We ate there by default because, unbeknownst to us out-of-towners, most of Glen Rose, TX is closed on Mondays. We had a great experience. There were only two other families in the place, so our service was fast and friendly, and the food was served hot and fresh! The catfish and shimp platter was enormous and delicious! The fried butterfly shrimp were outstanding. Crisp and hot. The coleslaw was way too sugary and looked like soup. That was the only negative part of our meal. The buracho beans were fantastic. The beef fajita taco salad was a large portion in a nice crispy shell. It was also very tasty. My son ordered the club sandwich, and we were all impressed with the portion size. We had no issues with parking, service, price, or portion size. We would definitely eat there again. read more

Walked in twice . . . and walked out twice. Can't say how the food or value is since there was never any service . . . at all. Both times after being seated and waiting for at least 10 minutes. Nobody ever came to greet the party, bring waters, take orders, whatever. In the meantime servers were seen taking care of others, tables cleaned, and (what appeared to be) the manager chit chatting with patrons at other tables. Looks like we had either the invisible table or an invisible server. In the end it really doesn't matter how good the food is if the service is poor or, in our case, none at all. read more

Such a good breakfast/brunch spot!! The juices are awesome and the servers were super nice and helpful when my sister and I had questions over the menu. Def will be coming back read more

Edible, but not great. The saving grace were their rolls, which they should put out in a basket. Their menu was extremely hard to read, not only due to the dim lighting, but they tried to be "fancy" and use a dark brown background with red and light black print. Ordered a side salad, chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes, iced tea and a piece of coconut pie. The chicken had a sour taste to it, the potatoes were ok, but bland, the salad was laughable and the only coconut on the pie was sprinkled on top - taste, not good, maybe made with vanilla pudding, the plate covered in brown tasteless goo. Waitress was very unfriendly and seemed in a rush. Before we left, they started mopping the room next to us and were using something with a strong smell, not the best idea with folks trying to eat. First and last time I'll eat here! read more

We thought we were finding a place in the wall and the food would be good but unfortunately it was less then pleasing. I was here with two of my friends, one being black and she didn't feel comfortable at all. The food was subpar, my bacon was burnt while the biscuit was huge it didn't taste very good. We also got the cheese fries and those were probably the best thing we got out of all of our orders. I don't recommend this place unless nothing else is opened. Very small, no frills diner with the locals. read more

I came here for breakfast on recommendation from someone at my hotel and was told to try the biscuits and gravy -bad idea -there is nothing about their so-called biscuit ,that is a biscuit ...it is a bland, flour dense, dinner roll ,which doesn't go good with eggs -the gravy is homemade/handmade , though..too bad no one knows how to make biscuits read more

one of the guys working the front desk at our hotel recommended big cup eatery when we asked him what his favorite place to eat in glen rose was. if this place were in houston (where we're from), we may give it another shot because the food wasn't bad and it got decent reviews from the people who reviewed it on here so our very mediocre experience may have been unusual. i like that they serve breakfast all day. i am very often in the mood for breakfast when it's not morning. i ordered the morning quesadilla 'cause i've been on a big scrambled egg kick lately. it was decent. nothing to write home about. my two year old really loved it dipped in the salsa, sour cream, and guac (which comes with it). my husband ordered a burger after our server told us that they were known for their burgers. think that he ordered the bacon cheeseburger. it was yummy. i may have actually liked it better than he did. but, even still, it wasn't *the best* burger that i've ever had but i'd still probably order a burger if we were to go again. both the host who seated us and our server didn't seem like they wanted to be there. i don't think we got so much as a smile from either of them which was strange as i remember reading reviews that the staff was friendly. i did notice good service to others who came in and i instantly assumed that it was because they were regulars but that's just my speculation. we had to ask for iced water refills and then waited a bit to get them. hate having to ask for refills at a sit down place. our server also didn't give us a goodbye-have-a-nice-day greeting and not because she was gone. she dropped the ticket off, we asked her for some water refills, and then she started serving some others. the hostess ended up coming over and giving us water refills which was kind of strange. another thing and this probably wasn't their fault but it definitely made for an uncomfortable experience was the fact that there were flies all around our table. pretty annoying and kind of gross. we spent most of our meal shooing them away and commenting on how annoying they were. our son did name one 'tony,' though and that was kind of charming. bottom line: would come back if we were in the area and we didn't have any other options that looked better. wouldn't be sad if we never ate there again, though. read more

Mediocre at best. Over-priced, insipid food. I don't usually like to write bad reviews but this place was a bit depressing and the food was very generic. Queso was $4.50 for queso you can in bulk. Will not be coming back. Also, there was no soap in the bathroom. read more

Chicken fried chicken breast is delicious! Plenty off food with you meal here. The cheese fries and kickin queso were also very good.
