I do not get the 2.5 star rating it currently has. We had a good experience with food reasonably priced, especially considering the venue. We ordered chicken sandwich, patty melt and grilled cheese sammy. All the food came with drinks (canned Pepsi products) or water. Accompanying chips were either Doritos or Lays classic and baked. The cost was 6 bucks for kids meal and 9 for adults. Staff was nice and the food came out in good time. Due to pandemic we found seating outside where they had benches, well spaced. While you are here you don't have any other options for food so they could totally stiff you but they don't imo. All of our food tasted fine, nothing special but we liked it. Its a solid 3.5 stars rounded up.

Stopped here while driving through the park seeing the animals. It's a cute little place with a somewhat limited menu. But it provides a nice break when you want to get out of your car and have something cool to drink and some food. I just had a grilled cheese, (with Fries of coarse). In fact all of us had grilled cheese that day if my memory serves me right. People should not expect a five star dining experience. And by that I mean it isn't upscale. What it is though is a cute little cafe, that you can go to, to take a break during your drive through Fossil Rim and also get something to eat. The view is quite nice and we were glad to come here as we spent a long time here and it was nice to get out of the car and get a little rocket fuel! And frankly we were hungry. And it does beat eating in your car. Friendly staff as well.

I was at the park and happened to be at the Cafe. Might have avoided the place if I had checked the reviews. But now I am glad I didn't. I order the Junior Cheese Burger while my wife tried a veggie burger. The lady at the counter was sweet and the remaining staff were friendly. We sat outside and the view was just perfect. As we waited couple of exotic looking small birds flew to the tables next to us. The burgers were cooked well and so were the fries. Food appeared affordable too

Expired peanut butter that's separated available with jelly to poison kids for only 5.50!

Overpriced and horrible quality. Peanut butter and jelly is made with expired and separated peanut butter. When I went to complain about it and let them know the response was, once it has been bitten into, we cannot take it back or switch it to something else. Take your food into this place which obviously gets zero health inspection and don't waste your money and health here.

Turkey and Cheddar sandwich on a kaiser roll. Fresh ingredients but not much flavor. Kaiser roll overwhelmed the sandwich.

The restaurant is a decent size, but probably not so great for larger parties (10+). We were greeted right away by our waitress and she was very kind and attentive throughout our entire meal. We were told the restaurant was out of particular menu items, so if you're going later in the day we'd recommend calling beforehand or asking right away. To drink I got myself a "Crown and Coke" and ordered the "Pan Seared Chicken" as my entree. The Pan Seared Chicken was DELICIOUS. The plate consisted of: an 8 oz Airline Chicken Breast, served with mashed potatoes, pearl onions, wild arugula all soaked with a Espelette Beurre Blanc. The seasoning in the chicken was so flavorful and the skin on the chicken was cooked perfectly crispy. The beurre blanc elevated all of the other components of the dish and it left me wanting more. Absolutely delicious. Aside from the delicious food and wonderful service the ambience also contributed to our experience--multiple TVs with sporting events playing and live music on a small stage. Overall we had an amazing experience, highly recommend this spot and will definitely be back if we are ever in the area!!!

We loved the rustic charm and friendly service. I ordered a ribeye which had an excellent flame grilled flavor. Sadly, that was the only thing that had flavor. My Brussels sprouts tasted bland and barely cooked, Mac and cheese wanted to be good, but missed the mark. My wife a wagyu burger that looked like a burger but lacked any flavor. The homemade fries were soggy and squishy. Dessert was a cookie skillet with vanilla ice cream and a chocolate swirl cheesecake. Do you remember having covid where food lost all taste? You knew what you were eating, but tasted nothing? Unfortunately that was our meal . Staff were lovely, peppy and full of joy. Sadly it didn't seep over into the food. I'm looking forward to coming back to glen rose to explore more, it just won't be here.

The place is just an old diner in the town of Strawn. We showed up at 1130. They had nice crowd no wait. Sit down and order. We got a small and a medium chicken fried steak. For the sides fries and mash potatoes with a small salad each. The small steak is prefect size for me. But if you are hungry go for medium or the large. The chicken fried steak is made a little different than most. Not the usual type of breading. We really enjoyed the meal all was very good. The steak was tender and great flavor. Fries cook perfect and great for dipping into my gravy. Mary came around and took the order and she also went to each table and made sure you like the food. Very good service from all the staff. We will be back and you should give them a try.

I'm really surprised at how many four and five stars there are. Almost nothing we got had flavor: Queso - literally just cheese with nothing added - no salsa, no jalapeños, no onion - nothing. If you put queso on the menu, I think people expect it to have more than literally melted cheese. Chicken Fried Steak - loved that the breaded parts stuck to the meat and was excited to eat, but again, literally no flavor. We didn't finish it and we didn't take the leftovers. Mashed potatoes - No flavor AGAIN. We were so surprised and disappointed. You can see everyone there busting their tails though. Those women deserve every penny of every tip left for them.
