Never thought we would find such a delightful and quaint restaurant on our way, to or from, the Granbury/Fort Worth area via 281 in the heart of Hico, TX. The food here was excellent and the service was spot on. I had a ribeye steak and my wife had a burger. Both were good. Our server, Jennifer, provided excellent service. The place is quaint but gives vibes of an old time ranch kitchen. They are known for their pie variety. We had the chocolate pie and it was delicious in flavor and texture. If you're driving north, or South on 281 and pass through Hico, TX, make sure you stop here.

Famous for Pie!! My mom told me about this place. They are famous for their pies. I was so blown away!!!!! OMG! The best!!!

Just stopped in for pie in the afternoon and ended up with Black Forest and key lime. Service was fantastic! Will absolutely go back for a meal.

Busy, local restaurant that's busy in the morning. Lots of fresh baked pies too! Nothing special with the interior. It's all business here. Staff is fast and efficient. Were told by locals to not miss the fresh donut. It was ok, not my cup of donut. Big, but more cake like than fried dough. Biscuit and gravy was tasty. Biscuit is fresh and flaky. Eggs, sausage, and hash browns were standard.

Good food, good service but the hidden fee found at checkout?? The restaurant is cute, the wait staff was nice and prompt and quick to make sure everything was good. We did not have a piece of pie, (found out later how famous it was supposed to be). One of the better chicken fried steaks I have had in a while. Not the best but darn close. Now to my problem. I will state I did not read every part of a big 3 1/2 page menu, I might have missed it but anyway I don't like "HIDDEN" fees. Trust me it wasn't the $0.85! Eighty five cents. It's on the check though. They evidently charge everyone this fee. And it's CRAP. They told me at first, that she didn't know what it was or what it's for. Again CRAP. If you charge it you better know what it's for. Turns out that crap fee is for a credit card reimbursement, a pass through! Put on there whether I'm paying cash or credit card. That's the kicker, if I'm paying cash it should not have a CC fee. Much less the surprise!! Don't go. I won't

On the way back to SpringTown, my cousin decided to treat us to some pie. The parking lot is spacious for this cozy locals spot. Upon entrance, I was not greeted, but, in all fairness, I had to run to the ladies' room. It was a long drive. By the time I finished pee'ing, cousin had gotten the pie and already was sitting in the A/C. I wanted to take some pics inside, but there were too many people in there. I ended up eating two pieces of the pie. Was it great? No. Do I compare it to anything from Julian, CA? No. Was it good? Yes, I enjoyed it. Especially the cinnamon sugar crust. That was different.

Great little coffee shop, my son and I wrote our bikes out here for breakfast. Food was good. Service was great. It was worth the ride.

Terrific local cafe with scratch cooking. Breakfast always done right and any time you can order PIE, don't miss the opportunity.

Parking on the left side of the house/cafe, walking up the handicap-accessible ramp...the porch itself is a wonder to behold with at least three swings and a few small tables. Current food and drink offerings are posted on an old door propped against a corner by the entry. I was overwhelmed with the flavor combinations, delighted by the branding of the shop, and knew I'd be making a big purchase--not being local and rarely traveling through Hico, TX we had to sample what is on offer from savory to sweet! Hico, TX has a real treasure right here ya'll! Honey lavender latte (seasonal), ham and gruyere muffin, and molasses cookies won the day for me! My partner agreed that of the three items I purchased for him, if only permitted to order one item again, it would be the molasses cookie! Similar to my aunt and grandma's chewy molasses cookie recipe, I was instantly transported to nostalgialand - grandma's kitchen or a ramshackle old cottage we used to reunion at--surrounded by relatives. Every bite filling me with goodness, warmth, and love! This is a spot I would frequent were I local to Hico--proudly sharing this beauty and its offerings with guests and purchasing goodies for office/special gatherings. If you're traveling down the road like we were, looking for a nice local coffee and something warm and delicious to eat, look no further. This is a MUST STOP.

It's right next door to where the address on the Yelp Page will take you, but it is formerly the "Bakeshop." The staff mentioned to us the former building/house was being renovated to become an AirBnB or something. We were looking forward to patio seating given we had our pup with us, but the restaurant didn't have any, so we opted for drive-thru. The restaurant itself has a small parking lot. The woman who took our order was very kind and informative, as mentioned previously. I ordered an "Iced Latte with White Chocolate" and ordered the "Breakfast Burrito," which contained sausage, scrambled eggs, and cheese. The latte was good, creamy and sweet with the WC flavoring. The burrito was also good, not amazing, but good! I should have ordered 2 of them, it wasn't too big, so keep that in mind. The cheese was melted inside and the sausage was super flavorful. There was a section of my burrito in which the sausage was actually cold, which took me by surprise, but other than that it was good. Pricing was decent for what we ordered. We would come back if we were driving through again!!

Bloody's were very good. Not sure what was in the pitcher, but they were not made by pouring out of a bottle of Zing Zang. (which I do like btw) This is in a very rustic, hastily put together space, and now that the problem child is gone. it is time for some upgrades and a makeover - as John has suggested. You have your proof of concept, now just dress it up. A suggestion on the sound. It was pretty much inaudible upstairs. I could hear that ya'll were talking - just very hard to make out the words. Which was a shame because I really wish I could have made out the Q&A Session better. I saw speakers everywhere - they just were not sending words to me. Not sure if it was better downstairs.

Once I arrived I knew I was right by the amount of Harleys that were outside. Some Custom some Stock. Even the parking out front was reserved for Bikes. If you like riding to Strokers in Dallas you will love Roadhouse. If you are in North Texas and you head here you will not be disappointed. From what I understand the establishment is under New Ownership. Management, from my experience is killing it. The menu has a lot of options and literally everything wa appealing. I'm a Wing guy so that was a given. Big Wings cooked and seasoned perfectly served with what might be the best hand cut Onion Rings I had in a long time. If I remember there were like five flavors and I'm sure there was no bad choice on flavors. There is also a Steakhouse from what I'm told serves a very good Rib Eye. I should also mention the Burgers were said to be the best around. The Bartender Jennifer was very nice and made some tasty Cocktails. They also had a very good selection of Beers and some that seemed to be Texas favorites lol. I had a chance to talk to the Manager Reggie who was a nice guy. He said they have live Music some days. The place was.complete with a Stage and an area for Dancing. He said Ted Nugent was there recently. Definitely it my thing but to each his own. It's off the beaten path but as I said a great place to go to get away for a few Hours. Next time I'm in Fort Worth I'll probably go again. Especially if I find a business that Rents Bikes. Still thinking about those Wings. Lol. Yallhollatchaboy'.
