Delicious!! I was on the mood of something sweet ,so we decided to come to this place. Wow! Excellent! We didn't find the place right away because it's very small but once you spot the sign your life will not be the same again LOL! Very small spot with two tables and friendly staff. Have in mind that you probably won't find one empty seat. The order is going to take maybe 6 to 10 minutes. The menu is small but right on point. I ordered Velvet Love!! Amazing ! The red velvet waffle was delicious!! On top vanilla ice cream, cheesecake , whipped cream and sprinkles! I was in paradise! LOL. I came Thursday afternoon and it wasn't very crowded ! On weekends the lines are very long !!! * no bathrooms!
Doing this review kind of late, but this place is awesome! It's really tiny, so there isn't much room to stand away from people and enjoy your ice cream. The quality of the ice cream is just like any other ice cream, honestly. What makes it great is the additional toppings and the waffle. My bf at the time wasn't crazy about it. The price is pretty steep, but that's expected for something so unique and beautified. Would I recommend? Sure! It's a fun experience. Will I be back? It was more of a one time thing for me, so probably not.
Came here an hour before closing and custom ordered a waffle: madagascar vanilla in an original waffle topped with mochi, strawberries, marshmallows and drizzled with matcha and condensed milk. I really love that the drizzles are unlimited! If they had a stamp card, oh man that would be awesome. Also a fan of the color changing spoons!
Cute little ice cream spot in LES! I first tried Wowfulls at a pop up market and had the beautiful unicorn colorful one. Safe to say it was amazing. The second time I had Wowfulls I went to their store and it was just as great as the first time. Not only is it a delicious dessert, it is super instagrammable as well. The warm crispy waffle (that isn't overly sweet) mixed with the cool ice cream is a match made in heaven. I was overwhelmed by building my own so I went with a premade selection for my second one - I chose the one with the red velvet waffle base with vanilla ice cream and hints of chocolate. I found the portions to be large but perfect for one person or sharable if you'd like. The spoons are temperature sensitive which was a nice touch. The space is small as others have noted, but there is seating and also a cool graffiti love wall (which I used as the background of my photo).
I stopped by here with a friend on a Saturday afternoon and thought it was a super cute place. I absolutely loved the #LoveWall - hearts and color are totally my thing! So, of course I immediately took photos there. And there was really cool artwork of the quote: "Live life wowfully." Of course I had to customize my own Wowfull and my it was artfully created! For my eggette (egg waffle) I chose chocolate and it was pretty good. Nice and chewy consistency and lovely flavor of chocolate. I am more used to the Chinese egg waffle cakes which have cream inside them so I think if that was added, it would bring the flavor up a notch though it probably would be difficult to execute. I wasn't sure which flavor of ice cream to choose so I asked to try the captain crunch cookies & cream, cotton candy pop rocks, coffee and double cookies and cream... I know, I know it's a lot and thankfully the staff was very patient and accommodating to me. However, I was not impressed by the ice cream flavors. I really wanted to like them but I thought I would really enjoy the first 3 flavors but they fell flat. The captain crunch cookies and cream did not have enough of that captain crunch flavor and I don't think it went well with the cookies and cream. The coffee one didn't have a strong or sweet enough flavor. But the double cookies & cream did the trick. That flavor was rich, creamy, full of cookie taste. I got that, along with Madagascar Bold, a more intense vanilla flavor. For my toppings (limited to 3 which is still a really good deal) I selected strawberries, mini chocolate chips (I think the regular size ones would work better but they didn't have that), Mochi and for the drizzle, I got the condensed milk. Oh and Oreo pocky sticks was a wonderful touch - Yum! They add pocky sticks to each Wowfulls creation and the flavor of pocky depends on which type of egg waffle you choose. The toppings were great but I could not taste the condensed milk at all. Perhaps the caramel drizzle would have been better. It was really cool to see the care that was put into making this delicious dessert and the service was great. The staff was friendly and approachable. I'm happy I got to visit and try this place out but I just don't feel the need to go back because I tried all that I wanted.
Always friendly and worth the wait! Best to visit during the week around 1-3pm (I recommend Mondays when possible). Cash only (not sure if this is temporary or long term) but there's an ATM next door. Waffles are made to order and have crispy edges. Also comes with 2 pocky sticks (Japanese chocolate/cream-coated biscuit stick) Recommendations: red velvet waffle, Madagascar Vanilla, fruity pebbles, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, chocolate drizzle.
Came when they first opened and waited in line in the rain for $1 ice cream wrapped in HK style egg waffles plus their shop logo pins as part of their opening day promo. I was deeply reconsidering whether I had made the right decision to do so about 2 hours in the freezing rain but stuck in there as I had company who was equally elated. I can say it was sure worth the wait. After trying similar type places and being left disappointed, Wowfulls delivered! Their ice cream did not taste like cheap mass produced ice cream. It was refreshing while not being overly sweet and tantalized the taste buds. The winner clearly were the egg waffles, done wonderfully well...fresh, hot and crispy as they should be. Would definitely visit again!
This is a new cuisine. The waffle with chicken is full with soy garlic. It taste crispy on the outside. Inside is soft and smooth. It was tasty and natural. The cashier was nice and friendly. Asked me how the flavour is. It was a great experience. We had conversation on what the waffle is made of. Had a great time inside the store. Recommend to come here often.
Who doesn't like eggettes?? They are a simple bite that attracted tons of people back in Asia and brought to the United States. Small little pancake-like bites made in a special pan usually sold in paper bags - 15 for $1.25 in Chinatown. But recently the long awaited dessert from Hong Kong blossomed into a trend, with a mountain of eggettes in your hand topped with things like ice cream and toppings. Wowfuls isn't the first location to come up with this dessert, but after trying so many, they may just be one of the best. Starting with the original- it's crisp on top but with a cushion soft texture that's perfect inside. There's no gooeiness that shows it's unfinished but it's also not hard to show it's overdone. I believe there are at least 25 little cakes. You can taste the freshness of the eggs used to make it too! The coffee version is delicious with a strong coffee flavor. Besides the eggettes themselves being perfect, I really enjoyed the ice cream and the uniqueness of the flavors. On top of the original eggettes my friend got coffee ice cream. It tasted similar to Haagen Daaz, which has a true coffee flavor unlike others that may taste artificial. I ordered the captain crunch cookies and cream ice cream on top of my eggettes. It sounds crazy right?? It was amazing!!! So different, yet not overwhelmingly sweet and I look forward to either a cereal or an Oreo crunch after every bite to balance with the eggettes! Topped with strawberries, mochi, and condensed milk... ::Mic drop:: Warning though: coconut wowful is pretty sweet so get the coffee or original if you want something lighter
The first brick and mortar location of the popular egg Waffle place is now open on East Houston Street. Though Eggloo opened their store awhile ago and more recently New Territories (very close to here actually), Wowfulls has been around for almost exactly as long as Eggloo, doing their thing at events and markets like Smorgasburg. The new shop brings a bunch of new waffles, ice cream flavors and toppings to set them apart from Eggloo a bit. They are debuting a Coffee and Coconut flavored waffle here, but the biggest selling point for me, as an ice cream obsessive, is that they use the excellent ice cream from Max & Mina's in Queens. Some of the great new flavors here include Captain Crunch Cookies & Cream and Cotton Candy Pop Rocks. While these sound gimmicky, Max & Mina's makes a great product, so they work very well with these waffles. They also have an exclusive new Green Tea Lemon flavor, which would go great with their Matcha Waffle if it makes it into the flavor rotation. The staff is also very friendly here and they know how to make a beautiful product, so you'll definitely get that perfect shot for Insta. I wish some shops would take the risk of opening outside of the already saturated dessert areas (New Territories as previously mentioned and Ice & Vice are both pretty close to here), but I will definitely add this to the regular rotation of great ice cream spots to consider when it's time for something sweet.
So excited that Wowfulls opened up their first brick & mortar in the lower east side! The very first time we tried them was when they were a vendor at the indoor Smorgasburg - industry city 3 years ago. They took a popular Hong Kong egg waffle "Gai Dan Jai" and modernized it with different flavors topped with delicious ice cream & toppings! They have expanded to doing Smorgs outdoors, wedding & private events. Their waffles are made to perfection. What they bring different to this store is their new coconut flavor & coffee flavored waffle. The coconut is incredible. They use real coconut flakes in it & the taste is subtle- not overbearing at all. The ice cream they use is from Max & Mina's, which is legit amazing. The combo we got was the coconut waffle with Cap'N crunch cookies & cream , which went really well together. Also try the Green Tea Lemon- it goes really well with the coconut waffle also.
I saw this once at a food festival but was waay too full to try it but then searched it up and realized they had a store. This place is amazing! They use a bubble waffle as s cone which is super filling, perfect enough to share with another person!
So glad they finally opened a store! Now I have more options for dessert when I'm in LES. The store is very Instagram worthy. From the heart wall, to the white brick wall with the aesthetic decor, even down to the tiles on the floor. They have different flavored eggettes including: original, coconut and coffee. I love that they have such diverse ice cream flavors. I opted for the coconut eggettes and the Captain Crunch Cookies and Cream with strawberries, condensed milk, rainbows sprinkles, and Oreo for toppings. The overall presentation is so nice and eyecatching. I was standing outside with my friend and most people who passed by were staring. The dessert itself was good. The ice cream flavor was the best part for me. Coconut eggettes had a hint of coconut in it - I would've liked it more if the coconut was stronger. This is a really heavy dessert so I would recommend sharing with someone.
Super tiny hole in the wall that dishes out some unhealthy (but delicious) desserts. There's barely any seating or standing room inside. My son picked the original waffle with crazy vanilla icecream, marshmallows, ores crumbles, chocolate drizzle and sprinkles. The waffles are made on the spot and the icecream provides the right amount of sweetness. The crazy vanilla is a great option if you're looking for something fun but want a basic flavor...it's rainbow! Our family shared one. My friends and I popped out to this location after dinner and the service was amazing! We were excited to get some good dessert after a fulfilling meal and I had food coma. However, they were out of coconut ice cream and strawberries because it was pretty late at night. (Around 9:30 pm) Because of my food coma, my head was not working when the cashier said it three times. (Whoops haha) Nevertheless, he was super kind about it and my order was made to perfection! I loved the Thai tea ice cream and the red velvet waffle cone! It was $9 for a large serving. Along with that, the spoons were temperature changing spoons that turned blue when eating the ice cream. It was a small but unique touch to the whole experience. The decor in the store was super cozy and has the iconic heart wall you see on Instagram all the time. I'm definitely coming back when I have the chance to! read more
Stopped by on a whim after dinner because Wowfulls seems to be one of the only sweet spots open later in the East side of East Village. When we walked in, there was a short line to the cashier, but we ended up waiting around 10-15 minutes because all of the waffle makers were in use...so that's what you're mainly waiting for. The service was very friendly and nice, but I felt like they should have more waffle makers on deck just in case. We shared a "create your own" waffle with chocolate ice cream as the base, and teddy grahams, mochi, and whipped cream as the toppings. The two pocky sticks are complimentary! I wish they had more ice cream flavors like green tea (because they have mochi and pocky), or smores (because they have teddy grahams). The ice creams should have more matchable flavors to complement the toppings. Anyhow, the shop itself is cute and warm especially when it's cold outside. It smells like a fresh bakery inside. However, the waffle dessert itself was just average. The waffle didn't have the aromatic mouthful that most egg waffle desserts have, if you do it right. I'm not sure what they're missing, but the aromas were missing. We also felt that we've had better egg waffles in California, which is maybe why I felt Wowfulls was subpar. The spoons are also thermo-based, so they change color when you stick it in the ice cream or put it in your mouth. We watched customers do quick street parking, just having one person run in to order, while the other sits in the car still running. All in all, an average dessert spot. read more

I have been wanting to go to this Ice-cream place for so long and had yet to get there. I finally was able to visit this spot with my Beau and I must say it was absolutely phenomenal!! I enjoyed my Wowful cone from beginning to END!! The ice cream was so rich and creamy, the matcha green tea cone was so soft moist and flavore full. The additives of the toppings and the drizzle was to die for! Try the fruity pebble flavor or the double chocolate cookies and cream!! I definitely will be returning here soon and all through the summer read more
I went opening weekend. As in I went both on Saturday and Sunday. Lmfao. First day me and my friend went early. I was running late, so she was in line. Overall we didn't wait over 30 minutes. This was around 1 pm. I got the original waffle cone with coffee ice cream and almost all the toppings (wtf with the pebbles dust????) The coffee ice cream was really strong and smooth. I can easily say that was the best part of the .........treat? What do I call it? Oh right. The Wowfull (lmao). It was very filling and you can easily see why it's so popular. Ice cream in gigantic portions. Adults everywhere cheering. Second day wasn't as fun. I went back on a whim. I was craving it again and wanted it ASAP. Not a smart idea to go later in the day. It was around 4 pm me and my friend was on line. WE WAITED 2 HOURS FOR THIS. It was outrageous how slow the line was moving. That's what I thought anyways. Turns out people ahead of the line was putting in 8 orders for their friends at the back of the line. Don't be that asshole. Wait your turn. Anyways it wasn't that bad, I had the privilege of talking to the creator of the Wowfulls. He told us how he got the idea. Idea: Took a trip to Hong Kong with a bunch of friends. Hey we don't have this back home? Well we do, but it's not as good as here. *creator* I can make it better! Boom and that's how it came about. He ditched a 9-5 job in finance to create wonderful ice cream for New Yorkers. What a noble man. I told him I was here Saturday and now Sunday. The guy's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree. He was so happy. Nice to see people appreciate their customers. Back to the review. From pictures alone you can tell it's beautiful. It really is. The crazy vanilla was too sweet for my liking (should have stuck with coffee again) regardless, everyone should visit. I'm sure it will still be busy since it has just opened but it's certainly worth dropping by for. read more
I'd heard all about this place from friends, and you can bet that I also saw all the Smorgasburg pictures on Instagram! I wanted to check out this place for a long time but could never find the time to make my way there. By chance, I bumped into an old friend who works in the lower east side location, and I couldn't resist taking her up on her offer for some ice-cream! Full disclosure, I have no idea what to call what I got. I just know that it was cookies and cream flavored, and it was delicious! Would definitely go back again and try all their flavors! read more

Waited over a hour in the cold & rain for their grand opening and it was worth every second! Absolutely love the concept of this dessert and the menu is simple. For a flat out price of $8, you get a fresh waffle with an ice cream of your choice and unlimited toppings. The waffles are made from scratch and fresh off the hot plates. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They take their time making this Instagram-worthy dessert and timed everything perfectly so your ice cream doesn't melt. I am completely content with my dessert and can't wait to come back to try the other flavors! I also can't wait to see what else they have in store in the future! read more
Was in the city and got a great chance to try this place to see what the rave was all about. Such a cute place and love the wall heart wall painting. The guy over the counter was so helpful and patient with us as we trying to figure out what to order for our kids. We created our own ice cream cups for the kids. Both so pretty to consume. I recommend the Captain crunch ice cream. So good. For us we got the regular and coconut waffles. Much fillers and outside is crispy. Very good texture. But $5 each for the waffle is pricy. Wowfulls is officially my new favorite ice cream shop! I loved everything about this dessert. I came on National Ice Cream day which also fell on one of the hottest (see hellish) days of summer so far. Still, it was worth the trek from Delancey/Essex St. As it was an ice cream holiday, my wowfull came only $1.25!! Yes, please and thank you! The crazy vanilla ice cream tastes like vanilla but looks so fun so I had to have it. Ice cream should be fun! I wanted the coconut waffle but they didn't have it that day, sad face, so I ordered original. The waffle was tasty. It was crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside as any good waffle should be. They have a ton of options for topping. I went with some of my faves, strawberries, caramel, marshmallows, and cinnamon toast crunch cereal pieces. While it did take a while to get my ice cream, it was pretty crowded when I arrived but at $1.25 it was worth the wait. I will gladly pay full price for another one these treats. read more

SO, DANG, GOOD. If you've had a childhood consisting of these little balls of joy 15 for $1 or 20 $1 what ever it may be, relive your childhood with a whole circle full of them where they dont break it up! The batter here is extremely well made and they're cooked for the right time. They're crispier than ones you usually find on the street & still has its softness in the middle - perfect to break off and scoop your ice-cream with! I paid 8-10 dollars and although it is pricier than it should be, I would go back every now and then to get some more. 1 whole waffle circle's worth: $1 or $1.25 ice-cream scoop worth: $3 2 sticks of pocky worth: less than $1 Total: Not $8.50 or more However, because it is in the flea market it's nice that you can walk around with it and make the expenditure of your money more worth while. Eggloo's service and flavors compared to Wowfull's are subpar, at best. The lines will be consistently long, especially in the summer but if you just think about how your Instagame will be greatly improved with a picture of Wowfull's creations, perhaps you will be motivated enough to brave the 30+ min long waits. The bitterness of their crispy, warm matcha waffles are nicely paired with the sweetness of the cold, soft ice cream. The crew at Smorg is extremely friendly and efficient, despite the overwhelming volume of eager patrons. Bottom line: skip Eggloo and go for the better one, Wowfulls. Literally a no brainer. read more
I just couldn't stay away and found myself back here again. As usual the waffle was warm, the ice cream was delicious and the toppings made it even better. Overall: delicious Egg waffle cooked perfectly...ice cream and toppings good mix and not too sweet. Staff is friendly If you're in the neighborhood, definitely stop by... Just be aware it could get crowded because they only have 4 waffle makers and each one takes a few minutes to cook. read more

Delicious waffle ice creams!! I've been seeing a lot of these on Instagram and they are not just aesthetically pleasing but they are also so delicious!! I need to come back to try more varieties. What do you get when you pair warm bubble waffles with cold delicious ice cream? Heaven in your mouth. The warmth from the waffle and the coldness from the ice cream really balance each other out perfectly! The ice cream is always decadent enough, but never too heavy. And the toppings make things all the more better! The service is quick and blunt (which is a good thing for me), and I've never had a bad experience here before. One night, the staff even let my boyfriend and I stay way past closing hours just so we could finish our ice cream in the warm and not the freezing outside. February 23 marks the day I finally tried Wowfulls for the first time, and it did not disappoint!! Decor: 4/5 It's a small store with a not so noticeable exterior but it's a different story once you walk in. On the right, we have a whole wall dedicated to the love wall by @jgoldcrown which was cool. Perfect for Instagram! But I actually prefer the left side of the store, with its white brick wall and hexagon (cause egg waffles!) decor shelves. Something to note is that their store can get super foggy for some reason, to the point that your glasses can fog up once you step in. But still, the place is hella warm and comfy to sit and eat! Service: 5/5 Plenty of workers here! They were all very friendly and accommodating! While waiting for my order, I was able to see that they really put work into making our waffle creations Instagram worthy! Food- Value: 5/5 The waffles are BIG! $8 is a typical price to pay for ice cream egg waffles but I would say it's definitely worth it here due to both the amount you get and the quality of the dessert. Create Your Own (Red velvet (limited edition!) Wowfull with banana & fudge brownie ice cream, mochi, gummi bears, Oreo crumbs, and whip cream): $8 // 5/5 Being that I literally just picked whatever I liked without caring about how they tasted all TOGETHER, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was! Compared to other waffle places I tried, these egg waffles were served warm!! So you have my 5/5 right there already. The red velvet flavored waffle comes with chocolate inside which is amazing! Their waffles are also more bubble-like, and while hard to eat, they provide stand holders so you can prop them up while scooping the ice cream! Props to Wowfulls for having such unique ice cream flavors! Banana ice cream may sound extreme but the banana part was just a nice subtle flavor which mixed well with the brownie fudge! Overall, I actually really enjoyed the ice cream here, more than the egg waffles, although they make an excellent combination together. Walked passed here a few times, but this time I smelled the aroma of the waffles! You choose your flavor waffle, they make it for you, add your flavor of ice cream, and toppings! You get a lot for $9.00! The presentation, and the flavor! We had a custom one, and the red velvet. I must say, very impressive! Also, the spoon is temperature controlled! Hong Kong egg waffles (雞蛋仔 - gai daan jai) or eggettes, with a scoop of ice cream and toppings. Around $8 per "Wowfull." Customizable if you don't like the three already listed on their menu. They have coffees listed on their menu too, but like..why would you order a drink when you can have dessert? Ordered the Perfect Matcha to share with friends since we were full from our lunch nearby. Matcha Wowfull with mochi, condensed milk drizzle, & Madagascar ice cream. If you're not a fan of green tea, don't order the matcha wowfull since it can be a bit bitter if your tastebuds are not accustomed to it. Threw me off a little since I'm used to the original flavor. Found some white chocolate chips inside near the end of the egg waffle as well - not sure if that was intentionally put in or got put in by accident..I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10. Had a better experience here than Eggloo though. Thankfully their heat works if you're crazy enough like me to eat ice cream in the bitter cold (this was early January, when there were winter storm warnings and an incoming bomb cyclone haha). There is seating inside, but only a few stools. They have lime/lemon infused water near the front. Napkins and spoons are on the side. They have green color changing spoons, which are always fun. Price is steep as expected, but creating your own combination of ice cream flavor and toppings is fun. And they always taste good too! I was able to try one for the first time while at work when they showed up at the 6th Ave Food Festival. I wish they do that again so that I don't have to trek all the way down to LES. read more

Who said too much sugar was bad for you? Ok, maybe it is but #yolo. I'll take another Wowfull. The Hong Kong egg waffles are good by itself, even without the ice cream. But both combined is going to give you fireworks in your mouth. My friends and I ordered "Home Sweet Home" ($8) and "A Perfect Matcha" ($8). They make the waffles fresh in front of you so it might take a while, especially if there's a line in front of you. The green tea lemon ice cream gave a citrusy flavor to the whole thing but I think I would've liked a plain ol' green tea ice cream better. The Perfect Matcha comes with mochi and a matcha waffle, freshly made and warm in your mouth. Feel free to change up the ice cream if you'd like! My friend got the rainbow scoop of vanilla ice cream, which went really well with the plain waffles and strawberry bits. Both orders came with two strawberry pocky sticks each. They have a nice wall inside to use as a backdrop for all your social media related photos. There's not much seating inside, just stool-like seats along one wall and by the window. I'd recommend putting a bench outside the storefront since people seem to pretty much loiter outside with their Wowfull in one hand if there's no room to hang out inside. I'd be interested to change it up and spice up the toppings next time. But seriously though, those waffles are sooooo drool-worthy. read more

I came here after finding out they were doing a collaboration with Pineapple Express. I ordered the Pineapple Express which had Dole Whip pineapple soft serve ice cream, toasted coconut, and tropical fruits (kiwi, mango, dragonfruit, strawberries) in a coconut egg waffle cone. They make it to order so it does take about 8-10 minutes to get your order. The egg waffle was very good, light and fluffy. They give a generous amount of fruit toppings and I don't see dragonfruit that often. The Dole Whip pineapple soft serve didn't have much pineapple flavor but they give you a good amount of it. It's a bit pricey ($9) but I couldn't eat the whole thing myself so I shared it with someone. They have color changing spoons just like Snowdays. Overall, it was better than Eggloo - waffle was tastier and the sitting area was much nicer. read more
