I created my own wowfull you have several ice cream options I chose double cookie and cream. You then get three toppings and then you can choose whip cream, sprinkles, condensed milk. In Germany you would say this spot is what the word "Hipster" stands for. It's all about the looking. Ok, the waffles with ice cream and colorful toppings do look pretty good and delicious. Taste is as good as I've remembered it at Smorg waiting in the lines, however they've tweaked, perhaps even perfected the taste of their regular waffle. Saturday afternoon, wasn't much of a line. Decided to the make-your-own ($8): Original Wowfull with Captain Crunch Cookies & Cream ice cream, french toast crunch, chocolate chips, graham crumbs, and caramel drizzle. Even with all of that, they still add teddy grahams, pocky sticks, and powdered sugar free of charge. Now obviously, the complexity of it is great for pictures - however, incredibly difficult to actually ingest. Powdered sugar gets everywhere, graham dust soon follows, french toast cereal is falling to the floor. The items I do get into my mouth are more individually delivered than a whole bite of everything. The very first time we tried them was when they were a vendor at the indoor Smorgasburg - industry city 3 years ago. They took a popular Hong Kong egg waffle "Gai Dan Jai" and modernized it with different flavors topped with delicious ice cream & toppings! We decided to take a special trip out of the way when we went into the city for a show because we love them so much. Friendly staff, takes a few minutes for them to get your order together, no line on a Sunday afternoon. I'm not a dessert person, but Wowfulls has been on my list of ice cream places to try this summer and my first experience was worth the hype that I've been seeing trending on social media. When I first arrived, the door was locked but the store was open... I suspect that one of the customers inside thought it would be funny to lock the door to prevent others from entering. Fortunately, a nice girl who was waiting in line by the entrance opened the door for me and my friend. The line moved fairly quickly, and the employees in the back were quick about making the orders. I created my own Wowfull following their four steps - a matcha waffle, matcha lemon ice cream, which was super refreshing, three toppings (strawberries, pineapples, mochi), matcha syrup, and whipped cream followed by pocky sticks. My friend ordered the Home Sweet Home - their signature waffle topped with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, chocolate syrup, mochi, whipped cream, and strawberry pocky sticks. What we really enjoyed about the Wowfulls, besides how tasty they were, was the surprise bites of chocolate that were baked into our waffles! The only negative part of my experience is that their space is small and in-conducive for the few seats that they have for their customers to be able to sit and enjoy their purchase. Because they are popular right now, Wowfulls was crowded and customers by default are forced to exit once they receive their order. The cone is a freshly skillet grilled hot waffle with little egg shapes in it. After the waffle is cooled off with a fan, the ice cream is placed inside the waffle cone and the toppings and pocky are placed on the ice cream. How the waffle looks in its cone holder is reminiscent of a crepe is molded into a cone shape and stuffed with goodies. I grew up eating egg waffles from street vendors from time to time, so the eggy and milky taste was a nostalgic welcome for me. You can choose from what kind of waffle shell you want, as well as the ice cream filling, toppings, drizzle and whether you want sprinkles and/or whipped cream. The pocky comes with the waffle. My waffle had two of my ultimate favorite things: strawberries and mochi. The pieces of mochi were sweet and chewy just how I like it, and I was very surprised at how fresh tasting the sliced strawberry bits were. My ice cream filling was the crazy vanilla. Not only does the vanilla flavor taste great, the double color scheme on it looks amazing. The egg waffle is also not too hard so I was able to break off small pieces using my spoon if I wanted to take a bite of ice cream and waffle together. The pocky was nicely placed in the ice cream, but I had to eat the sticks by the time I was halfway done eating the ice cream because there was nothing holding the pocky sticks in place by then. Customer service was wonderful. The counter lady was really nice with explaining how to order and helping me along because I came in having no idea what to pick. I did not mind the long wait because it was to be expected as the store only opened yesterday. The bad is the inside of the store is extremely small. There were already people standing by the counters eating or taking pics of their waffles, but in addition to the line on the right side for customers waiting to pick their orders, the left side was comprised of people waiting to get their prepared orders. I was really craving ice cream during Electric Zoo since the sun was shining on us, and I'm really glad I found this tent!! Surprisingly the wait wasn't super long as I expected it to be. I ordered the Magical Unicorn and the ice cream was rainbow!! It definitely matched the aesthetic of the festival in its entirety. The waffle part tasted fresh and it wasn't too hard or too flimsy. The best part was it was all compact in that little holder so it wasn't messy at all! In fact, I was able to dance in the crowd while able to eat it.
