I have never been disappointed with this place, I highly recommend. The workers are always friendly and the empanadas are so so good. I used to frequent this place when I worked down the street, pre-covid. Recently, I had a hankering for empanadas and placed an order for delivery. You know how some places' quality went down since the pandemic? Well, it did not go down here. Everything tasted as I remembered it. My go-to empanadas are the Spinach and cheese, Soy Chorizo, Bean and Cheese and Pepperoni. You can never go wrong with those. Some other really good ones are the Chile con Carne and the Ham and Cheese. I did have one upset, but that may be because I am not the biggest fan of hot ripe banana, the Nutella and banana. So I was so excited to find this place! They have some really unique flavors. My favorites are the mushroom and cashew cheese and the soy chorizo. It was my first time requesting for delivery through Yelp and it was actually quite successful though I wish there was a better way of selecting what you wanted for the 12 dozen option for the empanadas. We ended up getting 3 Santa Fe's, 2 sausage and gravy, 2 beef, 2 creamy corns and 4 Nutella and bananas. The order came in 15 minutes earlier than expected and the delivery guy was super nice. They are busy - well with great tasting food and excellent service why not right? Seating is limited - they had two outside tables and one inside then other seating that bordered the inside area. You can find seating but you can also take to go I guess. Service - the people working there are busy but the customer service was great. My wife and I planned ahead on what we were going to order based on the reviews and menu. I chose the Santa Fe Chicken and the Cheese and Onion, while she choose the Cheese and Onion and the Spinach and cheese. They have a combo so you can get two empanadas plus a side of soup or salad and a drink. For me I chose the chimichurri pasta that had chimichurri, garlic with the penne pasta. Served cold but that was one good pasta salad. I also got the Horchata for my drink instead of a canned soda....excellent Horchata. So good and so busy! World Empanadas is on Magnolia with no parking lot in the back, but street parking is pretty easy on the side streets. Also, the space is pretty small so it gets pretty hard to find a place to sit during lunch hour! I ordered the potatoes and gravy and the Nutella and banana empanadas. Each one is $3.40 (kinda pricey) but well worth it! I loved the dough--it was so soft and chewy and the perfect amount of carbs!! The potato and sausage stuffing was just the right amount of seasoning and perfectly paired with their vegan chimichurri sauce that they have on the side!! For dessert, the Nutella and banana had actual banana chunks in it and I was blown away!!! It wasn't too overly sweet and closed the meal off perfectly. Don't worry about trying to discern the difference between empanadas if you order a lot because they have the initials of the empanada on the crust (ex. Potatoes and Gravy has PG on it). I was in the neighborhood and been wanting to try this place out. The empanadas are so fresh and hot! I first tried the spicy potato, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Then tried a beef one, it was ok, definitely helped trying it with their sauce. Then tried the chili con carne, it was so juicy, flavorful, and a bit spicy in the end. Most recently they stepped up to another level and allowed our entire family that had just arrived from out of town to enjoy their food despite me being an idiot and getting the hours wrong on the weekend. Today, I drove down Magnolia, and saw World Empenadas, parked and grabbed a couple. I was not pleased, they were tasteless, and the watered down chimichuri was just that watered down. I super appreciated that this place makes vegan and vegetarian empanadas that's more creative than most options available in LA and OC. Most places only carry a spinach and cheese empanada as their vegetarian option and to me, I don't care for it because it's in almost every type of cuisine - dough, spinach and cheese.
