I had the vegan mushroom and cashew cheese -- very salty! Couldn't really taste the cheese at all but it was VERY seasoned. Too seasoned for me. The aftertaste lingers for a while. Cheese and garlic -- I liked this one. Not too garlicky but definitely a ton of cheese. Spinach and cheese -- very salty AGAIN. I took breaks and drank water to refresh my palette but wow! Overly seasoned for me These are just my taste buds opinions. They had a pastrami philly I wanted to try but then thought, oh wait I don't like pastrami, regular philly cheese steaks ? Yes please ! They are busy - well with great tasting food and excellent service why not right? Seating is limited - they had two outside tables and one inside then other seating that bordered the inside area. You can find seating but you can also take to go I guess. Service - the people working there are busy but the customer service was great. My wife and I planned ahead on what we were going to order based on the reviews and menu. I chose the Santa Fe Chicken and the Cheese and Onion, while she choose the Cheese and Onion and the Spinach and cheese. They have a combo so you can get two empanadas plus a side of soup or salad and a drink. For me I chose the chimichurri pasta that had chimichurri, garlic with the penne pasta. Served cold but that was one good pasta salad. I also got the Horchata for my drink instead of a canned soda....excellent Horchata. I ordered the beef + chicken empanadas, and felt the meat vs crust/dough ratio was off. Too much carb, not enough meat. The cashier said I would get chimichurri sauce with my order. I got my order, it came with no chimichurri sauce or napkins. I asked for them, then walked away to start eating my food. The chimichurri sauce doesn't have the beautiful bright green appearance and it's very liquidy from the vinegar! I like chunkier chimichurri sauce so I can pour it directly onto my empanada. Because the chimichurri sauce is too liquidy, pouring it makes your empanada wet and it falls apart which is not the best eating experience. Also, the space is pretty small so it gets pretty hard to find a place to sit during lunch hour! I ordered the potatoes and gravy and the Nutella and banana empanadas. Each one is $3.40 (kinda pricey) but well worth it! I loved the dough--it was so soft and chewy and the perfect amount of carbs!! The potato and sausage stuffing was just the right amount of seasoning and perfectly paired with their vegan chimichurri sauce that they have on the side!! For dessert, the Nutella and banana had actual banana chunks in it and I was blown away!!! It wasn't too overly sweet and closed the meal off perfectly. Don't worry about trying to discern the difference between empanadas if you order a lot because they have the initials of the empanada on the crust (ex. Potatoes and Gravy has PG on it). I super appreciated that this place makes vegan and vegetarian empanadas that's more creative than most options available in LA and OC. Love this place!! They offer so many unique and delicious empanadas. My partner and I enjoy the four vegan ones every time we go there. You'd never know they were vegan.
