Boit Mernem Sandwich Classic Burger with Fries

Absolutely loved the food at World Cafe! The sandwich was a 10/10 and the burger was a solid 9. The fries were also delicious! The workers were incredibly nice! The outdoor seating had a heater and music playing and it felt incredibly cozy to be here. Definitely would come back! Especially because they told us they're adding way more options to their menu soon! Can't wait to try more :)

Food was great (massive serving for what you pay). I had the burger and it did not disappoint. If you are anywhere near LA, I'd suggest taking a quick drive to try the food. Very small, very good for a quick passing-by bite on the fly. The Philly Steak sandwich was wonderful, prepared in front of my eyes, with fresh and crispy bread. Mmmh, perfect for what it was!

Hungry. Looking for food. Friend suggests World Cafe. I'm always game to try new places. Always. This is the way. The fatty way. First - follow the instructions. Don't blink. You'll pass it up. Street parking. On Verdugo. And on California. Small lot in back. Don't know if it's for the laundromat only. Check signage. No table service. Order. Find a seat. Probably outdoors. Small counter inside. Good for three. Maybe four people. Outdoor covered seating. Again, no table service. Need something - go to the counter. Though no service - staff (cashier + cook), so friendly. So nice. Not sure if they're the owners. So, on to the food ... Ordered a Chicken Burger (with mushrooms & cheese) + fries. Plus a Roast Beef Sandwich. See pics. Free drink with Yelp check in. Got a Coke. So delicious. So good. Ingredients just hit the spot. The special sauce added to the flavor. Was skeptical of the Yelp rating. Always nice when the ratings are spot on.

Delicious roast beef sandwich with an exotic twist! Their roast beef alone is already good, but they added onions, parsley, cucumber and spices which makes it a delight on every bite. The dip is just right for both the sandwich and fries. Only order the fries when you're really hungry, because the portion is pretty big. Overall it's a hearty meal combo and the price reflects it. Oh and they no longer honor the check in free soda.

I can't believe I found this Hidden GEM . You probably drove right by this precious hole in the wall countless times unnoticed . Place feels like They made me feel welcomed. Service was great wholesome attitude. I purchased 2x Philly Cheesesteak sandwich COMBO, $20 flat each. Which is more than fair for a 12 inch sandwich fries and a can soda . As I was paying I ran into the kind owner/chef , ‍ who by the way he spoke, you can sense his genuine love and enthusiasm for the food he makes and sells, as he introduced his new menu items. He said , They have Alfredo pasta now ( I wish he had a pink sauce, because the creamy and acidity of the marinara for me is *chefs kiss * hint hint wink wink ) lol . He also mentioned " Kabob bites" I was in a rush so I didn't get to ask what that was. I am eager go find out. You can taste the fresh, high quality ingredients that was used, along with the care that was put forth when preparing and made . Very clean, natural, high quality beef, not oily, perfectly salted and seasoned! The bread was soft and has just the right amount of elasticity , for lack of better description. They either make it themselves or gets it fresh daily or got it from a local bakery ‍ . Breads thickness created the perfect meat to cheese and veggie ratio. . The sauce really brightens up and takes Philly Cheesesteak and takes it to another level. The Philly was too good as you can see in this photo! We couldn't even wait to take a good photo! I would ask for more sauce on the side next time, it perfectly balanced , straight up harmony so fire ! If you, like myself is starting to feel the food you consume due to age . lol you will really appreciate the mastery in these crafted sandwiches from this joint! I can't wait to try their other menu items, Money well spent , totally % worth it. Hands down the BEST PHILLY CHEESESTEAK sandwich I have ever had. WELL 5 STARS

Un*** believable it is the most nostalgic and tasty roast beef I have ever eaten the red paper and fries wow woop woop took me back to Tehran ... love this place... دمتون گرم خيلي چسبيد The owner is really cool and he is a professional in what he does... Cute place.. Better bring your BIG appetite! Came to try this place out after seeing some photos of the burgers. So glad I did! Tried their WORLD CAFE BURGER and the GRILLED SAUSAGE SANDWICH, both are super tasty!! Armen is very sweet and kind. He suggested which ones to try first since it's our first time. Just ordered the Everything Burger and it literally had everything in it that was available on the menu. Everything was soo juicy and rich. Delicious will come back again for sure. Don't forget to bring a roll of paper towels can get pretty messy read more

I wish I was writing this review about the food and maybe I'd be able to give this place more stars but unfortunately that's not the case. I had this place bookmarked in my yelp for a while since I sometimes do laundry at the place this is attached to. I was so excited to try it since this place has a solid 5 stars with 50 reviews. I was doing laundry and had my son with me, it was about 3:45pm on a Friday. We were getting hungry so I figured, why not try this spot. When I walked in there was another customer sitting at the countertop talking with the man and woman who worked there. She said she wanted a cheeseburger to which the man said " Get the handmade burger instead, it's much bigger and better." To which she replied, " But I don't want something big, I really just want a cheeseburger." This went on for about 5 minutes, him trying to convince her to get the handmade burger and her constantly refusing. She finally gave up, got up and said she'd think about it and left. I don't blame her. Why I was still there? I don't know, that should have sent me off but my kid was hungry and so was I. So I went to the counter. The man, the woman and a teenager were standing behind it. The kid and the woman looked bored and the man was prepping something and seemed totally uninterested. I asked for an order of side fries and without even looking up the man said "We don't have that." I asked why if it's on their menu, picking it up and pointing to where it had the item. He looks up and said, " It only comes with food, you need to order a meal." I was confused and starting to get irritated. I said, "So....you don't have it or you won't do a side order?" He had enough of my questions and yelled, "We don't have it! It's not in yet, you can have it if you order food!" Get your story straight dude. This man was a total jerk, trying to get the customer before me to spend money and not wanting to serve me and yelling because I ordered a side of fries. Hey, if you're reading this- I was going to order more. The side order of fries was for my kid and I was going to order a full meal but since you were such a jerk I walked out as soon as you were done yelling. I'm never going back and now people will see how you treat customers. If you treat customers with this kind of disrespect it doesn't matter how good your food is. read more

I have no idea why this place is so highly rated. I brought my husband over and all we had was disappointment. The menu is very limited (nothing like a WORLD) and lacking of any vegetarian options. I ended up ordering a chicken sandwich and my husband got a homemade burger as the staff suggested (they say it is the best). My sandwich is very dry and not carrying much flavor, and even worse I FOUND A HAIR in the parsley sauce!! My husband's burger is totally mediocre that he was not happy that we drove all the way at night for this place. It is rare for me to write a negative review of an eatery but this place has left me a frustrating experience because I trusted the Yelp review. read more

Wow, completely unexpected. I've avoided this place for years because they were connected to a laundry mat. Probably the best burger I've had aside from In-N-out around the corner. The flavors are definitely middle eastern, but everything harmoniously went together incredibly well. The fries are extremely basic, undercooked crinkle cut fries, but the burger makes up for it. I reluctantly recommend trying this place. It's pretty good. read more

DELICIOUS SANDWICHES!! Forget Subway, Jersey Mikes & just about any other deli around. Tasty Persian inspired dishes where you actually taste every individual ingredient. Fantastic bread on sandwiches too. Not that chain restaurant bread. Next to laundromat too so that's a plus. You will be very satisfied when you come here. Really wanted to like this placed because the reviews are great and a German sausage sandwich sounded like something out of the ordinary to try. The owner was super nice, but unfortunately, we ordered sandwiches that were supposed to have German sausage in them and instead he put sliced cheap hot dog links in both of them. Super disappointing. They've lost these customers forever just because he either tried to save a dollar or didn't have the courage to tell us he was out of sausage. Either way, that sucks and is a terrible business practice. read more

Do yourself a favor, skip going to habit burger, and drive down the street to California and verdugo to get the best burger in Glendale. Armen at world cafe does it right: toasted sesame buns, peppered and spiced grilled meat, and delicious sauce. They make both a mushroom burger (my favorite) and a burger with chunky bacon bits( good too). The Price is also decent- same price as the chain restaurants except you get better tasting food in addition to supporting a local small business. There are other good items worth checking out on the menu for meat lovers as well. Service is quick and the flavor quality is excellent. It's a small shop with made to order food and an outdoor eating area with a fountain. I recommend world cafe for a filling bite to eat. read more

I rarely ever give reviews, but I felt what I just had was well worth a good review. I came to do my laundry one afternoon and right next door is this small cafe I thought was just going to be some place you can grab a simple soda and a bag of chips. I didn't realize I was just about to eat the BEST burger I've tried in so long. The bread is unheard of. And everything about this burger came together so nicely like a bomb ass song. This review won't even do it justice. Please just go and try this place. If I could give more stars I would. Best hole in the wall spot I've found in glendale. Good job guys! read more

AMAZINGG!! no other word to describe this place. My friend and I are both really picky eaters and have yet come across a restaurant that serves delicious sausage sandwiches like World Caffe! The service is great, and the owners were so sweet! Definitely will come back, and I definitely recommend this place. Side note: everything is bought and made fresh each day. From the bread to the burger meats. Honestly no regrets!! read more

Probably one of the best burgers I've ever tried. It's a small joint; however, the burger is superb quality. It's one of the only burgers I've eaten and didn't feel bad after consuming it. So I walk into this place and was greeted by the guy at the counter. He was very friendly. He recommended the burger or the sausage which is a German beef not pork. So I decided to try the mushroom burger. It was pretty good. The bread was very fresh and the burger was juicy and messy, the way a burger should be. I'll be back for sure to try the sausage next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more

I came across this place on yelp and I was very impressed by the comments and the photos, but I wanted to try it myself. I live 5 minutes away from this place and have never seen it in over 10 years, so when I found the quaint little corner and smelled the delicious food I was already impressed. The chef/owner Armen was one of the nicest and most honest chefs I have ever met! He didn't even show me the menu instead he took his time to ask me questions about what I like and made recommendations and personalized my sandwich for me. When he brought me my sandwich I immediately got nostalgic about my hometown and adored the authenticity of the presentation! THE FOOD WAS BEYOND PHENOMENAL AND JUICY! It melted in my mouth! Extremely delicious and well put together. Also just the right amount! He personally brought my sandwich, checked on me, and took my food all while he had other clients. He took the time to ensure every client was taken care of. He also recommended for me to try another item on the menu next time. It's this kind of service and care that hands down deserves a 5 star! It's so refreshing to take time and enjoy in a fast paced life. I will definitely be back with friends and family, and strongly recommend you to give it a try! read more

The soltani kabob was to die for; the flavors in the beef barg and koobideh were so rich and cooked to perfection. The mastery of these dishes was absolutely on display. The mast moosir was a great creamy and savory side dish to complement the entrees. I HAD to get the tahdig (crispy rice) too! I also had a bit of the lamb shank which was really flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the baghali polo. The yogurt soda was a bit of an acquired taste for me, but I'm happy to have tried it for the full experience. We finished off our delicious meal with a floral and sweet Persian ice cream wafer sandwich. The portions were enormous, so we left feeling full with leftovers to look forward to! We came on a lively weekday evening. They don't do reservations, but we were warmly greeted and quickly seated with lavash and butter on our table immediately. The restaurant has a beautiful and romantic atmosphere, with hybrid indoor/outdoor courtyard dining. Our waiter was attentive and made us feel very welcomed. I'd give this restaurant more than 5 stars if I could!
