This is by far my favorite Persian sandwich shop! If I could give it 10 stars, I would! If I could take all of my friends here, I would, or I would tell them to go themselves, and bring back some for me! We were craving Persian sandwiches one night and searched for Persian sandwich on yelp, this place came up with all 5 star reviews! Called and ordered for pick up. Got there 15 mins later, and booom, true love between us and the sandwiches :X We got the sosis (sausage) sandwich with mushrooms and cheese, the cheeseburger, and the roast beef sandwich. All three were beyond delicious, and not comparable with what we had gotten before from other similar sandwich shops like Attari, Cafe Glace etc. We got so excited that we forgot to take pictures to share on here, sorry! To those who have been looking for the amazing taste of traditional Persian Sandwiches, this is your place, look no further! read more

Went here for a late night grub with friends. The workers were nice and the food was great. However, they said the free drink with the Yelp check-in was not valid anymore even though it is active on this app. They said "it expired 10 years ago" LOL Anyway, they still gave us complimentary canned soda for showing that they still had the Yelp check-in offer on Yelp. read more

Great spot to get persian style sandwiches and burgers. So far I have tried the tongue and the sosis bandari sandwich and both were adequate and delicious especially when couple with their homemade sauce. The owner is really nice and he is basically doing everything from cooking the food to serving it. Definitely recommended. read more

We absolutely love this place. It's a tiny hole in the wall next to a laundromat. The sandwiches are big enough for two moderately hungry people and they're so delicious. We have tried most of their sandwiches and our favorite is the German sausage and mushroom sandwich. The owners are so sweet, they really make you feel like you are in a family joint. They're so generous with their fries. There is a little patio area for sitting down but overall it's a small spot and people get their food to go. Such a great place and great people! read more

In short: This cozy little cafe churns out some serious big eats with home-made sauces that you won't find anywhere else. The portions are ridiculously generous, huge burgers and over-sized sandwiches that you probably won't be able to finish. My Keto friendly recommendation is their imported cheese-bratwurst sausage. It's like nothing else in Glendale. Juicy and bursting with flavor, it's the real deal prepared right. I told the owner to prepare it sans carbs and he delivered, serving the brat on a bed of roasted mushrooms, bell peppers and mozzarella. It was awesome! Also don't miss their homemade torshi aka pickles, giardiniera style w caluflower and mixed greens. As a side it's the best for their wurst - sorry, I couldn't help myself. If you're craving a burger, they make a pretty mean one here. Huge patties loaded with toppings. One thing to note, seating is limited inside, but they do have an outdoor patio with area heaters they can fire up on request. read more

Raffi (the owner) has been in this business for decades. I have had a chance to try his sandwiches both here in the US and his home country, where his recipes originate. Though thousands of miles of distance between the two businesses, the gourmet sandwiches great taste has reminded unchanged. He makes the food with passion and genuinely cares for the customers. OkAY WHERE WAS THIS PLACE ALLL MY LIFEEE!!! I dont know how to describe the deliciousness of this place. I got their sausage with cheese and their fries and it seriously took me back to my childhood. Their service is great, and not to mention everything is made fresh daily. Cute little cafe, very cozy and great food, exactly what we needed in the heart of Glendale. What a great cafe l! I've only had a few things and buy few I mean multiple orders of French fries and Cucumber yogurt with pita chips. Both items are delicious and are served in large portions. Oh! Best sandwich place in town!! World cafe is a hidden gem in the heart of Glendale with fresh and delicious sandwiches. We try their " Bandari sausage " and "falafel " it was both tasty and delicious . I highly recommend everyone to try their sandwiches . Perfect place for lunch and dinner. This is a nice, small, family-run restaurant that serves yummy sandwiches, burgers, soup, sides and pretty good Armenian coffee. I recommend the sausage sandwiches. This is a good place to go to when you want sandwiches with a little international flair. I love how festive they are with their decorations. I would definitely come back. read more

Hidden gem. This one-man show is great. Scratch-made burgers, sandwiches, and random specialties -- came here with some friends and everything was good. I looked over the counter at one point and noticed that the cheese for the burgers was being baked to perfection on a specialized cheese melter. I got to watch him slide it onto my burger. End result: see photo. Hnnnnng. Highly recommend the homemade aioli for the fries. Good stuff. Turkish coffee was good. Everything was good. 11/10, will make a point to stop by again. read more

One caveat is to come here if you check in early morning for a good weekend brunch, around 9-9:30am, which I did during my second visit here, as their peak times are roughly around noon.

The famous house salad was fresh, but again... nothing that really stood out. For entrees we ordered the Rib Cap and the Sirloin & Shrimp. The rib cap had decent flavor, but for a premium cut I expected more tenderness and a bigger wow factor. The sirloin was cooked properly, the shrimp were fine, and the sautéed spinach was actually one of the better parts of the meal. Most people absolutely love Damon's for its atmosphere, history, and nostalgic charm, while opinions on the food tend to be much more mixed. Many longtime guests return because the experience is unique, even if the menu hasn't evolved much over the years. Bottom line: Come for the atmosphere. Come for the history. Come because it's one of Southern California's classic tiki restaurants. Just don't come expecting one of LA's best steakhouses. Damon's feels like dinner inside an enchanted Disney tiki attraction, but the food and drinks never quite match the magic of the room. If they elevated the menu and cocktail program to the same level as the atmosphere, this place could easily become one of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles. As it stands, it's a destination worth visiting--just set your expectations accordingly.

We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
