Five-star details: 1. Outstanding Communications. Melissa is always available, including by phone, text, and email. She does what she says she is going to do. We've spoken on the phone & Melissa has a great app which gives you updates and photos of your pet! 2. Genuine Caring. On our most recent trip, the weather got cold. Melissa's team members worked with us to turn on our well heater, ensure our pup was kept warm and cozy, and gave us detailed updates and photos. 3. Going Above & Beyond. Melissa called me about the cold weather to alert us in case we didn't know it was going to be below freezing and to ensure our pet was fully taken care of. Her team actually plays with your pet, spends real quality time, and ensures your pet feels loved. They brought our dog extra treats which was incredibly thoughtful because our dog is a senior citizen - and they actually know about dogs so they brought treats that are great for his health as well as being yummy!

Stacy and Amy were very nice and accommodating and were able to put us on the schedule starting the very next day (I'm a procrastinator). We had originally lined up another pet sitter to watch our two elderly kitties while we were away for the holiday, but when we did the "meet and greet" with that pet sitter, she admitted that she didn't feel comfortable with all the medical needs of our cats (one needs insulin and hyperthyroid medicine 2x/day, plus subcutaneous fluids 3x/week, and the other has lymphoma and gets two different pills--one daily, and one every 3 days). I really appreciated that pet sitter's honesty, and I appreciated her referral to Compassion Pet Sitting even more. I called Megan, and--despite the short notice (it was like 11 days before we were to leave on our trip) and the busy holiday time--she had just enough room in her schedule to take care of our cats. Yay! We met with her, and she seemed very knowledgeable and competent (she didn't flinch about any of the medical care...I guess being a vet tech she does those kind of things every day). While we were gone, she even called a couple of times to ask questions--something I was very grateful for! She felt bad for "bothering" me, but I'd much rather be called than have her guess about something. I really felt at ease on our trip knowing Megan was watching our kitties. It was the first time we had left them in over 3 years (since the older one was diagnosed with diabetes). I knew they were in good hands. The only negative is that we aren't actually close to her--she's far north, and we're in South Austin. So, there was a fee for being out of her normal area, which we completely understood with gas prices as they are and the extra time it took her to make the drive. It's not really a negative about the business, just a negative for our situation.
