Comanche literally saved my dog's life. She was near death and they held their doors open passed closing time to get an IV bolus going. That kept her alive until we could get her to the ER. It took a few weeks of touch and go as she did not eat, but continued to pass copias amounts of blood. Now, she has fully recovered from that near-death experience. read more

Moved to Liberty Hill in March however between working out of town and trying to unpack our families schedule was nothing short of chaos. My beautiful 12 year old Avery girl loves her "retirement house" and still has lots of energy. However she needed her vaccinations in April and time was NOT on my side. I have never been so mad, we took our baby chihuahua after a horrible dog right our neighbor got go ahold of him it is really bad blood everywhere. They were the closest and had heard good things about them. When a little dog or any dog that has gone through something like that you would have the common sense that the dog is very hurt and to be careful around their head! They took him in and as quickly brought him back to us saying he bit the vet and they couldn't help us had to take him to another hospital far from where we were. I asked can he make it that far she said I hope so I think he will. REALLY!!! He is still touch and go and then i get a call from our wonderful new vet saying they called the police and on top of everything else now he has to be quarantined and we can't even see him. I will NEVER bring any of my animals to this place ever again!!!!!!! read more

I've always had a good experience. I inherited my cat from my granddaughter due to urinary issues. He was urinating all over their hose for 2 years, and they couldn't take it anymore. So I was his last chance. ( he was a shelter kittie) I took him in and after several visits we now have a plan that has worked. We just had our Maltipoo put down this evening after she lost her battle with congestive heart failure. While we're sad she is gone we choose to think about her life and not her death. She gave us so much love. We had 13 years with her. She'd never have lived that long without the love and care of Dr. Martin and his staff. And even though the clinic was out of a couple of items that I could have bought there, the Dr looked them up on my amazon app with me to direct me in getting the correct item for Mango. Visited this clinic at an open house where we met the staff and got a tour. Everyone was so friendly, food was available, and gift bags were handed out. A few days later we got a call that we'd won a door prize, so back we went with our little Yorkie. An exam, a test, and a few (needed) shots later that we inquired about since we were already there, we were on our way with a years supply of heartworm prevention. The vet is such a nice guy and everyone treated our little dog who tends to be quite timid and shy around strangers very kindly. We even got a callback a few days later to check up to see if we had any problems with our dog after her shots. Fair prices, great staff, nice vet, and very caring in general. Not only is he a wonderful vet, they are the most compassionate group of people I've met. Comanche Trail needs to revisit their curbside only policy. We have been using them, for over a year, and I understand for routine services etc, but when you bring an injured pet in, and they refuse to let you be present, and tell you well you can take your fur baby to the emergency vet 1/2 hour away, if you disagree with their mandate, you need to rethink it. To further add insult to injury, they send a tech out to inform you she is dying. The Dr. didn't even call to tell us what is going on. The tech informs us they can give he some to hasten her passing, and we ask well can we be present, again no you can't, can't hold your baby while she passes. Tech says well "she wouldn't know you were there or not", but I do. As we sit in our vehicle tears welling up, the minutes pass, and the finally bring us out a box. Please wake up and join the rest of the state in making sensible policy. I know it is your business and you can make up whatever policy you want, but I can also choose a more compassionate vet, which I will. read more

5 GOLD STARS!!! I've been taking my dogs to Balcones Animal Hospital for over 8 years and I adore Dr. Wood. They have always been good to my pets and go the extra mile. Today, however, they weren't able to see my new kitten...one of three we recently adopted from the Georgetown Animal Shelter 4 weeks ago. Chester, we noticed had something wrong with his little eye. Dr. Wood didn't have an opening until 8/15/18!!! So, I called Comanche because they're in Liberty Hill which is about 15 minutes from where we live now in Bertram. So they're much closer. They could see my little fella at noon. My son drove Chester to the vet and they took him right back. He had a scratch on his eye, so they put him on drops. They did a few other things and even called me at work and asked me for permission as well as asked me a few questions. I was very pleased with the total cost. My little Chester's eye is going to get better. Thank you so much for seeing my little guy so quickly and taking such great care of him. I'm so appreciative. BTW, Dr. woods office called me and offered me a 2 o'clock appointment that day but we had already committed to Comanche. I would without a doubt recommend and come back to this veterinarian. It's nice to have a clinic like this when you live a little further out from the "big city". Their hours are great and make it easy to drop off and pick up. The staff was friendly and Dr. Martin really seems to know his stuff. He also seems like a nice, down to earth guy. We took our older Lab in for some blood work a few months ago, and he took the time to explain the lab results and suggestions for her. Just wanted take the time to thank this office. My beloved pitbull has had skin issues since he was 8 weeks old. I took him to 3 different vets and a dermatologist (cost me $400 and did nothing). I was beyond frustrated and a co-worker recommended this office to me and thank god she did. I drove over an hour to visit this clinic thinking what the heck?!!! They saw my dog and recommended a staph vaccine for his skin issues even gave me the meds for me to give to him at home. It worked!!! I was so relieved! We moved to Liberty Hill in August of 2013. To be honest, I wanted to keep the vet I'd had in Round Rock, who I kept going to even after I moved to North Central Austin for five years. I went in just for shot, but did not intent to totally switch veterinarians. After my shot visit, I decided to give them a try for all-around pet care and have been very pleased. One of my dogs has had surgery, another a heart issue...we have two older large dogs. I am extremely happy with the care they have received.
