What a great concept--several different restaurants in one place to order from! I came here the other day with a few buddies since we were in the area. One of them wanted BBQ, another wanted a sandwich, and I wanted chicken. The convenient thing about Wonder is that everything is under one roof. The place was clean, and the person at the counter was friendly. Each time food came out from the back, she called out the name clearly and with a smile. As I mentioned before, I wanted chicken and I ended up getting a chicken sandwich from Marcus Samuelsson's Streetbird. It was not only really good but also a great value. Check out the Hot Maple Chile Sauce--it's so good! My friends got a Classic Brisket Sandwich and pork belly from Tejas BBQ, and another friend had the Shroomshire Cheesesteak from Fred's Meat & Bread. Both said their food was good as well. If you have the chance to check out one of their locations, I say give it try.

All the cilantro and jalapeno on one end tasted so bad when I bit into it 0 stars

Burrito was half cold even though it came so early. They rushed making it, so it's soft and falling apart. Also ordered the ingredients weird all the jalapeno and cilantro is one one end so one half the burrito has none of that if I could give them half a star I would. Just overall poor service on their end really poor presentation

Just tried Wonder and the food was hot a fresh. I was greeted by a young lady with a nice smile and very friendly and pleasant attitude. I only had cash so she had to assist me and didn't seem annoyed at all. The store was clean and fresh with music playing in the back. I loved how the food looked on the menu. But unfortunately that's not how it looks when you get it. The flavor was ok a bit salty but just ok. I ordered the cheesesteak which really had me hyped up, But I'm still returning to try the Italian dish and the wings, and eventually the burgers. Definitely recommend this place. I love the concept!

This has always been one of my preferred locations, both personally and professionally, which makes this experience especially disappointing. On this occasion, I was visiting as part of my work responsibilities. The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.

RIP Urban Hawker…read more Though if you wanted to recreate that part in movie plots where the protagonist we all thought had veered into untimely demise surprises everyone by miraculously making a comeback--I'm down for that too! Though on a serious note--kinda bummed bc I wanted to make one last visit before they closed July 17, though unfortunately I didn't make it back to town in time :( What a loss of a cultural connection point for the city! Food is a gateway to experiencing and understanding other cultures and this location was front and center in midtown, blocks from Times Square. In a sea of other cuisines, this part of Southeast Asia didn't/doesn't have much representation in general in Manhattan, and even less so now. Scouring articles and comments online I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're able to find a different space in the near future! Was it the best food court? I'll admit this was easily debatable for many reasons. But each stall had their own standouts. Tradsiyon was a later addition though had really solid braised meat and veggie bowls; Hainan Jones stepped into a midtown scene several years ago with no other similar Hainanese chicken spots in midtown (a few others thankfully are around today); Kopifellas brought uniquely Singaporean/Malasian tea and coffee options; I still remember the first bite of Prawnaholic's signature shrimp and rib noodles tasting that savory goodness for the first time; and most of all I will dearly miss this location of Lady Wong, where I rarely walked away empty handed. Thank you for the memories (and think about that movie plot twist I mentioned above)!

I rarely went home invoking a strong enthusiastic response to come back to eat something again. Their strong suite was location, space, and variety. What I loved most--besides having a reliable bathroom in Midtown--was what it became for the people around it. It was a place where office workers could decompress after work, grab a beer with coworkers, or catch up with friends they hadn't seen in a while. There was something refreshing about the atmosphere. People seemed relaxed and unguarded, shedding the polished professional persona they'd worn all day. It felt like watching the city exhale for a little while. And another thing I appreciated was their attempt to represent different nationalities under one roof. The more common items performed the worse and that's probably when you come to a space dedicated to hawker style cuisine, you expect to try some of their more novel stuff like Coffee Pork Fried Rice (from a stall that specialized in fried rice) or Noodles in Bechamel. I also frequently enjoyed their only drinks provider for the best Yuen Yang I've ever had. The method for making them seems theatrical at first but when you've had one that wasn't properly aerated, you truly taste the chalky bitter tannins. It was a good thing there was an experience worker there (possibly the owner). Who you got to make your drink was hit or miss because at varying times, my gf would be lucky enough to run into the one guy who could do it with oatmilk (she's lactose intolerant). It's sad to see this place go and there'll be many times ahead of us where we point out that that's where the Urban Hawker used to be.

I don't spend a lot of time in Brooklyn, so I actually had no idea that the Dekalb Market Hall was a thing until I started zooming in/out on Google Maps. Jokes on us, 3/4 of us ended up getting food at Hainan Jones. I had a grilled chicken bowl from Wiki Wiki and we also had boba from Tea Makers. Everything at Hainan Jones was great. The bowl at Wiki Wiki was really good. The boba was just fine. You really can't go wrong with Dekalb Market Hall, there are literally so many options. Figured I'd check it out for dinner since they showcase so many good eats. The space operates just like a Food Hall where there are a variety of food stalls to purchase from and you sit in a general seating area (center of the indoor space). Some outdoor seating but it is not covered. I spotted a French bistro and bar, BBQ, Thai, Vegan and burgers' spot just to make a few. Each stall offering unique food options and independent of one another so there's no competition. Something for everyone. Really well maintained, tables are frequently cleaned and each place offers a buzzer so you're alerted when the food is ready. There's even a photo booth and a backyard type garden space once you get to the back of the space. That outdoor oasis is great for groups, not covered (no roof, just open seating) but offers mood lighting and bright decor. Music plays overhead in both spaces, on speakers and there are several TV's featuring sports channels and food videos inside the hall. Daily lunch specials throughout at $14 a pop, per the advertisement on the front door area. Casual chic is how I would describe the place. Great air conditioning and great for groups of all sizes. High top seating, standard tables and booths available. Very comfortable and a nice foodie spot overall. We were never rushed and I saw folks just enjoying a night out. Totally recommend.

Seating in the form of smaller tables for 4-6, communal tables for 8-10, and bar tables areas are spread over a central tiled ground floor. Along the south side of the space, two sets of stairs (and an elevator) going up to street level are sandwiched between wooden risers that can be used for seating as well.
