I got roast pork over rice ( $10 cash). It took 15 minutes to make and I didn't mind waiting. I ended up throwing it out because the meat looked old and I feel like they used old oil... Meat also looked dry. I was craving wah fung but they were closed that day, so I ventured off to find a different spot that had roast pork over rice. Went to Chinatown for the Chinese lunar parade, everywhere else is packed so we decided to try this dimsum banquet hall turned food court. We came around 3pm and we manage to snag 2 chairs. Saw a mix of older locals & tourists. The atmosphere is lively. We ordered dimsum & 3 meats over rice. Dimsum dishes was kinda okey. Find the chicken feet & ribs too soft for my liking. The siomai was good though. The rice with the 3 meats was cold. The hubby did'nt like the taiwanese pork chop soup. Too sweet! The food here probably gets between 3.5-4.5 stars for the flavor/quality/price ratio, though there are improvements to the seating, decor and overall cleanliness that could be made to better the overall experience. Though there's plenty of seating would suggest getting takeout from here due to above reasons. This location is in a former dimsum restaurant and they've basically kept the same layout and set up about 9-20 stalls along the left and right walls with a mishmash of tables in the center, some rectangular, square and circular, some with tablecloths others without, with varying degrees of cleanliness. I was looking for something light and tried the fish congee $8 from the Mott Street food stall that serves a variety of dimsum and southern Chinese dishes. Simple Chinese comfort food and ample protein pieces (I counted about 8-9 pieces of a white fish) for the price. Steaming hot, salty (in a good way, not overly), sprinkled with a few chopped scallions and cooked with slivers of ginger for a subtle zing. Need to be careful while eating as I found bone or two in a few pieces of the fish. If you eat there, expectation is to bus your own table and drop off the trash and trays at the front of the space. I didn't use the bathroom here though if the other reviews are accurate I'm not going to try if I come again either--seems like a big mistake to not take better care of these. read more

We never had a food court in Chinatown so I was curious about this place. It was nice to see different options available, however not everything was up to par. We got some dim sum, Kimbap, bubble tea, and takoyaki. The dim sum wasn't great, lack of flavor. The Kimbap and takoyaki I would get again. The lady at the kimbap stall was super nice and friendly. The place itself wasn't the greatest, it was super hot out that day and they just had gigantic fans facing different ways in each corner. What was previously a banquet hall restaurant with dimsum, I think, much of the floor and upper seating stage still there noticably. Now, you'll find little shops for different tastes of Chinese cuisines are set up inside to try, from potato noodles to dumplings to dry hotpot dishes, the roast duck with rice, and a small drink/boba tea shop. Fell for yet again, another IG hype. First off, beware where you choose to sit. The only FREE seatings are the lunchroom style white tables and the first two round tables by the front door. They have about 12 eateries here and you can't use the bathroom unless you buy something. It's immediately inviting bc there are many varieties of food like Korean Chinese Japanese and a cafe. The food was salty for Mott eastern Chinese food but the k kimbop was not salty and it was very good.. I would say this place needs a really good thorough cleaning because it doesn't smell clean and the inside was not air conditioned on June 7, 2025. Authentic Xian Flavors - stewed pork burgers were ok'd by my family; Qishan pork noodle soup - hint of sour, tasted like I added dark vinegar already; not a lot of protein. Lower rating bec. of the ladies' restroom. There were signs saying "no public restrooms" by the far end so was relieved when my husband saw a sign, near some stairs, so I went. There were dim sum and roast and BBQ meats. So you are bound to find Cantonese food that you like! The food court was packed with people. I almost couldn't find a seat! With Mott Street Eatery, there are many small local eats and one of my favorites is Stellar Chinese Cuisine. They have affordable noodle soups of pork and beef balls along with the noddles. Looking like a well-used cafeteria in a Hong Kong shopping mall, it's on Mott Street just above Canal in Chinatown. I think there were ten separate stalls surrounding the crowded dining area. It was a bit of a struggle for Jamie W. and me to browse the selections as there were long lines for dim sum and various rice plates. Such a good deal on a day in NYC when we knew we were gorging. We were lucky to snag an empty card table because local residents must have a timeshare on the regular dining tables. Mott Street Eatery is a food hall with various (but mostly Chinese) Asian cuisines. They have bathrooms which I use in a bind. They aren't very clean and usually has no toilet paper but does the job. There is a dim sum stall here which is open early and has pretty good dim sum. The beef noodle roll has a good smooth texture and the meat is nicely flavored. This is fairly new food court that opened almost two years ago. I believe that the space it currently occupies used to be an old Chinese banquet hall. Therefore, the place does not look modern or new at all. It looks like they just gutted the inside and replaced it, meaning it fits it in well with the classic Chinatown look. In terms of the food court, it is an average one that combines the typical food you'd find in Chinatown into one space. Some of the stalls you'll find include the following - Hong Kong style snacks like scallion pancakes and grass jelly, Cantonese BBQ meats with rice, a dim sum stall, Taiwanese beef noodle soup and dumplings, and a dessert shop with boba. The only non-Chinese tall is the Japanese one. There is also a Thai-style Hainanese chicken tall, but Hainanese chicken is Chinese as well. None of the stalls are anything innovative. I tried out 3, with Gai chicken being my fave. Decently priced and yummy. Their drinks are $3.5 each and the iced coffee was really good. I also enjoyed their spring rolls. It came out fresh from the fryer. The dimsum was hit and miss. There were fresh items and there were some that would have been nicer if it was warm. The only con here is there is no recycling at all and as you can see from the pictures, mostly everything was served in plastic containers. Made me felt guilty about ordering more. read more

So sad that this Dim Sum banquet hall closed! I think it was formerly Grand Harmony. But glad that the space has been reinvented to a Food Hall at least, providing small businesses the opportunity, with probably much cheaper rent than a solo space. There's lots of options here! Bubble Tea, taiwanese dumplings, Japanese and Sushi, Cantonese roast meats & rice, Stuffed Vegetable & Tofu fritters, Hainanese Poached Chicken (Thai-style), Congee, and Dim Sum! It's a little overwhelming to decide, but the foods that looked the best to me were the Taiwanese Dumpling stall & Dim Sum/ Congee stall. The roasted meat stall wouldn't sell me a 1/4 pound Crispy skin Roast Pork- only 1/2lb or more are available. If I got dumplings, I'd recommend the pan-seared Pork & Cabbage. But I ordered a Congee (chicken & thousand year egg)- which was steaming hot on a cold Winter day. Friend had never had the egg (the cut up pieces are like an over cooked boiled egg/mushroom texture, with a super creamy yolk) It wasn't bad, just okay. The rice part was cooked nicely. I would try a chicken, ginger, scallion, cilantro one next time. FYI- the hall has all disposable dishes & cutlery. For a small pint container to share the congee, the cashier made sure I knew it was an extra 25¢! LOL After waiting in line for what felt like 20 minutes, as the woman ahead of me bought literally 25 individual packages of Dim Sum to-go (Best office lunch party I hope!), I ordered: - Pan seared Chive & Shrimp Dumplings (the crimped yellow skin ones!) - Chicken Feet - Tofu skin rolls (pork, bamboo shoot filling) - Taro Puffs (they are Croquettes- mashed taro with sautéed minced pork, dried shrimp inside. The outside is lacy crispy fried from the taro starch!) RARE FIND! This item is special & unique! If it looks light, fresh & crispy - get it! I hope that they kept on the chefs that worked in the original dim sum hall, the quality was really good. They were making and putting them into small packages - about 4 dumplings each. If you don't mind a sort of pre-packaged Dim Sum experience. My one complaint is that the Dim Sum was just lukewarm. Maybe if I told them that I was dining in, they would have reheated them and served it to me on a plate? Maybe that was why the cashier look confused when I put them on the tray. I just assumed everything was in small packages for easy sales. I was there around 2 PM on a weekday, it was busy but wasn't chaotic. A lot of the tables were filled. Of course in the back where all school local elderly Chinese folks, chatting with their coffee & milk tea. And actually a lot more tourists & families than I expected. Not bad, tables had a pretty decent turnover and people were friendly. Chinatown gets its own modern food court with the entrance of Mott Street Eatery, which promised to be a playground for gourmands. It touted local cuisine replete with a robot chef and a peculiar but interesting sounding pizza concept. With lots of empty stalls and a lack of variety in choices, Mott Street Eatery didn't exactly live up to the visions of dim sum and hand roll bliss I had imagined. You're much better off getting bites from any of the classic dim sum parlors in the neighborhood or even a Chinese bakery serving up these same dishes with more variety and flavor. Icook AI Kitchen, the business with the robot chef wasn't working during my visit, and very much seemed like a gimmick more than anything. "Burger Pizza" was the strange pizza concept that I stayed away from, instead opting for the most popular stand, which is the stall on the far left serving Cantonese classics like pork buns, dumplings, and rice noodle rolls. The food was fine but not worth waiting in line for. There's ample seating in the space but it's already such a popular destination that every seat is occupied on the weekends, when I'd typically find myself in the area. I'd consider returning to check out new concepts but for now am unimpressed. read more

This food court is empty. Most of the good vendors have left and established their own restaurants outside of the food court, like Gai Kitchen. The dim sum and bbq stall is operated by the owners of the food court, so they're still around, but their food is cold and awful and if you're ordering the bbq over rice, they'll give you the greasy bits that were left over from their larger orders.
