Still a great deal for a pedicure or a manicure, I only come here for the pedicure because I suppose a lot of men like me have trouble reaching their feet or doing the job right so I just paid Julie and she does a fantastic job of cleaning and scrubbing and getting all that debriding done. A lot of ladies come here and she and Danny do a great job with the fingernails while I sit there and watch from my comfortable foot pool. They generally don't take walk-ins so it's better to call and they are not open on Sundays and the best hours are to come in 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. although they do close at 7:00 they are counting the time from when they start so it's doubtful they would take you right and like 6:45. I have had great experiences with uv gel nails, acrylic nails, gel polish, and lately just the standard mani-pedi with clear polish. Tip- the citrus foot/leg scrub smells amazing, the massaging chairs are the best I have ever used, and the hot rock massages are heavenly. Lily has been doing my nails for the past two years and she just switched to this salon. It's big, spacious & air conditioned. It's a bit more pricey than my previous salon but you do get a LOT! Comfy spa chairs, a sugar scrub, hot stone foot & leg massage (can I say heavenly!!), TV, a comfy waiting area with leather chairs & a relaxing fountain. It's $25 for a pedicure & I can't say enough good stuff about Lilly. Another perk is that they are open 7 days a week & open till 7pm, and they have a parking lot. For those who use credit card, just want to give you a heads up that the is a minimum purchase of $20. The only thing I wished is that for the days that you're in a rush & don't want to be pampered, that they had a cheaper pedi without the scrub & hot stone. literally The WORST customer care I've ever experienced in a nail salon. i waited 1 HOUR for a nail clip fix - they wanted to refuse replacing the nail and instead file it down where the chip would have remained and not been fixed at all. after asking many times for one replacement acrylic, they made me wait a whole hour to get to me! ontop of the wait, the male owner yelled at me infromt of a room full of customers telling me what i can and cannot do. I've been here several times now and have never had a bad experience at the salon. It's definitely not the most fancy nail salon and the massage chairs don't look super expensive but I think the magic is in the staff members. I have been here and have had my nails done by various staff members and have not had any issues with lifting or chipping for my shellac nails. I have tried other salons in the Northgate area and have never been as satisfied with the outcome of my nails as I have been when I come here. They take their time and I have never felt rushed. My cuticles look awesome and they really put the attention into making sure the nail polish is applied perfectly. I often leave other salons and end up discovering little specs of dust or lint under my manicure and it totally drives me crazy . This has never happened in the 5+ times I have been to Chicago nails. I would totally call this place a hidden gem. Cost for shellac as of Jan 2018 is 28$. (It used to be $25.) read more

I was able to get a mani/pedi with short notice and had a great experience with the ladies. Not only were they efficient, bit they were friendly and was able ti get me in and out in 45 minutes. This was my first time at wonder nails. I called to see if they can fit me in for a fill. I was only 5 minutes away so they were able to squeeze me in. At first they told me they can only do a simple color because of how booked they were. Thankfully the next appointment didn't show up so they were able to do the design I really wanted. The owner was so disrespectful to me, changing the price the more I tried to reason with him. He first said 80 then 82 so I just paid him afraid he would keep raising the price. One of the most unpleasant experiences I ever paid for. I've worked in customer service for many years and tried handling this with as much grace as I could, because I refuse to be "that Karen." I've been coming here for years and finally decided enough is enough. Not sure why I gave them my business when they're often rude, abrasive, and somewhat combative about how you'd like your nails done. I'm low maintenance so never ask for anything too difficult. Although their shop was empty while we were there today, it was a very hurried, an almost frenzied experience with the lady passive aggressively slamming things around on her work station. She was very rough and cut my cuticles many times. She made me bleed a few times and kept pouring some weird blue antiseptic over the wounds. It stung so much that I felt nauseous and her slamming things around made it all the more unbearable. I finally said something about it...calmy...and respectfully. "Hey, I don't know if you're having a bad day, but you're really hurting me." Instead of being receptive to her client's feedback she flipped out and started yelling. The man that works there came out of the back room and they both began yelling at me about how they didn't deserve to be treated this way...**really**...my toes were bleeding and stinging from antiseptic. They screamed at us to never come back and that they were refusing to finish my daughter's nails. I paid them and tipped them anyway. I work hard and am on my feet for 9 hours a day earning an honest living. This was supposed to be a much needed self care day for my tired, aching feet, but it was anything but that. Actually feeling a little traumatized by the experience, but hey, I'm a big girl and I can choose to take my business elsewhere...and you should too. Please support a local small business that treats you with respect and kindness. Life is too short to spend your money at an establishment that treats you like cr@p. Why is it so hard to get a decent manicure? Started out decent though I'm not convinced they sanitize tools in between people... Color went on nicely until she put on a sloppy top coat. Down the center but missed both sides of just about every nail. Beside looking tacky, it also tends to lead to discoloration between the two layers within a week. Polish also dried with bubbles on several nails to which she responded "why didn't you tell me sooner." Well, bubbles rise as they DRY. I asked for a fix and she painted another top coat which did nothing for the bubbles. I asked her to repaint just the worst nail of the three (I just wanted to leave) which she pushed back on and then only gave me one coat. read more

It definitely stung for a while. :( Despite that, I gave them another chance because of the care she took before that point. Bad customer service. Poor quality. My nails were not even. And when I pointed it out my hand was rudely grabbed back and I was told I'm difficult today. My French tips were poorly done and uneven. I didn't have time to stay for fixes and didn't want to deal with their poor unprofessional attitudes any longer. I don't suggest them for anything other than a solid coat. Also the are not very clean. I didn't see anyone wash their hands as they jumped around from different people. They used a duster to clean the station before sitting me.
