Wah I'm sad to write this post but I think it's really important to discuss. I recently moved to Seattle and wanted to find my "home salon". Conveniently it's nearby and I decided to give it a shot. The first time I came here for a mani, it was a fairly good experience. Nothing fancy and very straight to the point. Kathy was friendly and I figured I'd give it another go since the work and pricing was fairly reasonable. However, I'm sad to write about my second experience :( I was hoping to get Kathy again but I was paired with another nail technician. I'm hoping it was just "a bad day" for her but the moment I walked in, the energy was heavy and even a bit aggressive lol. I've never felt so tense throughout the entire session, which I was hoping to be relaxing. She made comments as to why I had long nails before and told me never to do that "hard gel". I've also never got my nails dunked in a bowl of acetone before. It's usually wrapped so the smell isn't overwhelming? I've went back and forth about whether or not to write this review since I'm usually one to promote businesses! I am hoping it was just a bad day but I fear I won't be back as the energy of this particular tech was a lot/she seemed unhappy... I wish I could say it was good work but my nails and polish didn't even last a week, even with GEL!! :( Two nails broke and the paint peeled off. I was sad because this was my birthday nails lol. I've been getting my nails and toes done at this salon for a year (I'm over $1000 deep here). On the 28th, I got a pedicure and they sold me a manicure at the same time, but it took almost three hours. I asked the nail technician to keep my nails long and natural, but she cut them short and square. While working on my cuticles, she made me bleed deeply and didn't offer any first aid. I had to stop and clean the blood off my own fingernail so she could continue. After painting, she filed them more, removing polish from the sides, leaving bare spots, and making my natural nails coffin-shaped instead of square, even though I didn't want any shaping. This definitely undid the durability and the raw edges caused the polish to peel off quickly. The prep was poor and my nails were chipping and peeling off in sheets 2 days after the mani. I know they do repairs within 3 days or something like that but they're closed Sundays and I work crazy hours. My friends suggested getting a refund, but I didn't want to cause trouble, as I've had good experiences before. I left disappointed but I gave them another chance. Yesterday, I returned for a new manicure because the last polish peeled off within a week. I asked her to keep the same shape, no shorter, to allow them to grow after the previous cut. However, she made them even shorter and round. She watched videos on her phone with AirPods the entire time and didn't paint very well. When I pointed it out, the nail polish was still bumpy, thin, or missing in spots, she claimed the missing spots were my skin. She left fuzz and dust on my nails, I was trying to pick it out during the appointment because she wasn't getting it, but I couldn't get it all, there's even a hair polished into one finger you can see in a photo. Not too happy with the uneven, bumpy, rough, and pooled polish on completely filed down nails. To make it worse, I chose cat-eye polish, but she didn't even do the cat-eye effect because "my nails are too short" which they weren't before I came! read more

This was my second time coming in, and I can confidently say I've found my go-to nail salon. Kathy did my nails and the shape came out exactly how I wanted -- no adjustments needed. Coming from California, I'm used to walking into just about any shop and leaving happy, but that hasn't been my experience in Washington until now. This is the first salon here that I've actually returned to, and for good reason. They have so many options, their prices are very reasonable, and everyone is so sweet. The best part is they really listen -- they don't question what you want, try to steer you in another direction, or get sneaky with add-ons. The techs rushed me and didn't let me choose my pedi scent pac. The younger lady who did my pedi did not properly pumice my feet so they are all scratched up. She did a subpar job on the paint and burned my foot with a scalding towel. I paid $38 and tipped her $10. I don't recall a thank you. The other two ladies were friendly. Just had one of the best pedicures in a very long time here with Katrina. I did the Bomb Spa pedicure and it was very luxurious. Katrina was great, friendly, and my toes look amazing. Very relaxing massage with parafin wax, mud mask, hot stones and hot towels. Spa is bright and clean and everyone working there was very friendly. Collagen pedicure, was amazing I felt so pampered. I also got an ombré full acrylic set. The nail tech was having equipment difficulties(dead battery in airbrush machine), so it took a little longer, but I was happy to wait in the massage chair. I was not impressed the girl doing my nails made me bleed, and seemed to be unaware until I pointed it out. Over all though it was a pleasant experience. THE WORST NAIL SHOP YOU WILL EVER VISIT . Very unpleasant experience I come to the nail shop to relax they did my hand and feet in the massage chair at the same time, which had me twist and turned very uncomfortably BUT wait it gets better ! She's asking my all kind of questions I take it that she's the main lady so I constantly hear here reiterating what I told her and it sounded a bit odd so I used my Google communication translator to get real time translate and she's telling her coworkers that she doesn't think I want to pay because my boyfriend is standing outside so after I immediately I see that I give her my card and she responds " your boyfriend tell you to pay like no I know what you guys are saying but I kept that part to myself. WAIT there is more. So they are still going on in their Vietnamese language she proceeds to say That my boyfriend is renting me ! Because he was paying for my nails omgeee it really hurt my feelings because that's such a rude thing to assume at this point I'm shook and just want to leave They also overcharge me Used boiling kettle water to warm up my pedicure water once I complained she filled it up with cold water like why would I want a spa pedicure with cold water ! And it doesn't end there I payed for GEL and they gave me shellac which peeled off the next day !.. I never had anything but Gell because of its prolonged wear . But they game me something I didn't want and charged me for removal honestly I've never paid for removal if I was buying service. 5$ for each foot ! And 15$ for my hands just to remove ! I was flabbergasted! I told her over and over I want gel NOT shellac & she did what she wanted anyway ! they lie , talk about you in your face , overcharge & do not give you the service you come to pay for . Heavenly. Huge selection of polish colors chosen from a book rather than a bottle on shelf. First of all They had limited staff because of snow and people out but Kathy who manages it was so easy to communicate to and even called me when she had an earlier time spot which I needed. This is my new northgate nail place! First off, there was no crowd when I walked in on a weekend. Though they were decently busy (no business is a bad sign) they were able to fit me in for a walk- in pedicure almost immediately. The service was great! I had a really kind lady who asked my preferences and gave me the best service. She was both professional and kind. Most importantly, they were extremely clean. They used liners in their pedicure beds which, while expensive, help protect against other people's foot infections. They also cleaned all their tools. The pedicure itself was amazing. It included a parrafin treatment, warm stone massage and hot towel afterwards. The polish was well done with both top and bottom coat and the massage chair was an added bonus. Overall, a great experience - I will definitely be back. The only downside is they didn't have as many non gel colors as I hoped for which is why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5. read more

I came here after getting a gel manicure elsewhere that peeled after 2 days. I was looking for a spot that would meet my design wants, and meet it with attention to detail. What I found here was even better than that. I worked with a delightful lady whom name escapes me, but it started with a P. Open Sundays as of recently and are pretty easy to walk in and get an appointment. CONS: Lacks skilled workers. Quick to charge high prices but offers low quality, below bar service. Can't outline prices, argues over right price in local tongue (RUDE!) in front of customers, clearly lacks professionalism and service training. The woman in charge of my chrome nails moved to another customer without a word. The next woman came in to complete the work after I asked who was completing my nails, and she goes I asked her to move. Well, did you tell the puzzled looking customer about it? Micromanagement, lack of communication and a poorly run place which needs a serious shift in attitude and be customer focused first. WILL I BE BACK? Nope. Nails turned out okay but their handling of reservations/busy-ness was terrible. I made an appointment for a pedicure and full set of nails @ noon, showed up on time, but they had just taken in 3 new people and were then too busy and asked me to wait. After waiting for 30 minutes I asked how much longer they were thinking and they had me go run my errands and come back in 45 minutes. I came back right on time (now 1 hour and 15 minutes after my appointment time) and STILL had to wait for another 20 minutes for them to get started on my nails. The lady that did my pedicure was great, worked hard on my calluses, and painted them well. My manicure with acrylic tips and powder dip ended up with multiple different lengths and felt really rushed. Overall not the worst because the nails turned out okay and I didn't have any other plans that day, but the whole ordeal took more than 3 hours. I won't be going back. ‍ read more

I've come here 5 times now. Each time getting progressively worse... I've only left once actually liking my nails. 2/5 times they have filed my nails so hard that I've bleed. The nail application is constantly bumpy and never smooth. There is almost no consistency in the nail techs. If you don't get Kathy you never know what your doing to leave with. Unfortunately I will be looking elsewhere for my dip nails. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the one time I actually liked my nails. read more

Great mani and pedi! I have been here a few times and they do a solid job on pedicures. I have recently gotten a full set with tip & dip (with Kathy) and have gotten gel manicures here in the past. Based on my experience, they do a great job with solid colored but I am have not tested/ am not sure if I would go here if I wanted a complicated design because I am a bit picky. There's a 15% discount with the renovations that are happening next door and a 5% discount if you pay with cash. This shop also has a punch card/rewards program. If you are in the area and want something simple, I would highly recommend. read more

Hands down best nail place i've been including Seattle downtown. I've tried so many nail places this past year after moving to Seattle, and even though I live in downtown Seattle, this place is worth the trip all the way to Northgate for sure. I got dip powder with tips with fall colour - $40 with no extra fee for the acrylics tip. The customer service is amazing here - they make sure the nail shape, length and the smoothness is perfect and if you don't like it, they re-do it for you. If you pay in cash, they also do 5% discount, and they also have the stamp card that gives you additional discount with 5 visits. Haven't tried other nail options but they do all sort of nail, including chrome, ombre, extension, etc. read more

Creative nails is now my go to nail salon. They are less expensive than many other salons and the customer service is really good. Tina did my nails and she was super understanding about how sensitive my nails were and was willing to change the service from sns dipping powder to shellac. She was quick but also precise and careful. The workers there were really kind and welcoming. During my service, Tina took her time taking off my previous SNS dipping powder which took a while but she was careful to take it off. She then filed down and buffer my nails. My nails have never been this smooth before. She began to paint the gel and she was so quick I was shocked but she wanted to make it nice as possible. overall my experience was really good. read more
