She is the mother I never had. She is the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don't know a better person -- or esthetician. Thank you, Connie! read more

After a decade living in Seattle I've finally found a stylist I like (as opposed to am fine with). I like the way my hair looks when Vanessa cuts it and she's very gentle, both physically (not yanking through tangles) and in her demeanor. All the plants in the shop give it a nice vibe. read more

Angalina is the best! She is super knowledgeable and talented and always gets my hair to exactly match the inspo pictures that I show her. My experiences are always efficient and comfortable with beverages to enjoy! read more

Angalina is the best!!! Love the cuts and color I've gotten from her. I have fine, straight hair and she always cuts it perfect so it looks thicker and not choppy. I feel like I showed her like 5 *different* pictures of the color i wanted (oops) and she still somehow nailed it?! definitely see her if you want someone who really listens and executes flawlessly! Price was also very decent for such a professional job in a great location. read more

This review is LONG overdue. My mom came across R&R studio, more specifically the wonderful Sarah, a while back and insisted I checked it out myself. As long as Sarah is around, I will never go anywhere else! I have been to a few stylists over the years and they did a lovely job, however, they weren't quite what I was looking for. I find that Sarah really listens to what I love/want (all about the messy choppy layers!) and absolutely kills it every time. I've seen her other work online and it's obvious she can do it all. The cherry on top? I have an anxiety disorder and small talk in a salon chair isn't always the easiest/most comfortable for me but Sarah is a breath of fresh air. Shes both fun and so easy to talk to! I have no doubt every stylist at R&R is incredible. Everyone there has been nothing but friendly and welcoming. Sarah, if you move away, my mom and I are following!!! :D read more

MICHELLE YOU ARE AMAZING!! Okay before this salon I have gone to two previous ones since moving to Seattle. Both wrecked my hair and left me in tears. I came out of the last salon with the most yellow hay looking hair. Like if horses saw my head they'd try to take a chunk outta it thinking it was food for them :( ANYWAYS so I was recommended by a friend to go to R&R and ask for Michelle. To be honest I was terrified to go to anyone who is not Asian after going to non Asian hair stylists the past two times. I'm so glad I gave this a try. I've found my new hair home :) So I came in with bright yellow hair and I told Michelle I was done trying to go lighter and that I just wanted to go darker. I showed her a pic and though it doesn't look that much like the picture, I'm still in love with the hair she did for me. I'm glad it's still a bit blonde so it's perfect for summer, just a little darker! Home girl got me in and out of the salon within 2 hours. I was estimating it would take like four hours. She was so quick! Next time I'll be asking to get my hair toned so it can be ashier but besides that I'm in love! Thank you so much, Michelle. You are so good at what you do and you're so much fun to talk to :) read more

Cutest shop and Angalina does the best hair! Had my first appointment today and it's always a little nerve wracking going to someone new but she she is so nice and friendly and she keeps the conversations going and she does great hair! Our whole family will be using her and we highly recommend her! read more

My daughter had a cut/color for her birthday by Angalina. She was so good with my daughter; they talked about a good color and style and Angelina executed it beautifully. Can't recommend Angalina enough. read more

Wow, a house guest home for a brief visit decided to try a new place to have a hair cut and color touch up before she went back to Japan. The hair cut and color looked great but we were kind of shocked at how cheap it was. House guest, native English speaker so no language issues, said she questioned the stylist about the price and was assured that it was correct. All good until the next day when the stylist called to ask for more money, she screwed up and substantially under charged her. So, please come back in and pay more. Kind of fine if you want to overlook asking a customer to make an additional trip to correct her mistake. She did offer a small, probably too small, a discount for the inconvenience. House guest is moving back and was looked for a new salon- this won't be it. read more

Summer Smith did a wonderful job on my hair. I wanted a cut and light balayage. She gave my hair life! She even recommended a new shampoo and conditioner that I've been loving. It's been a couple months so I'm going to book with her again soon! read more

Summer did an amazing job with my hair! She took me from blonde to red and even though it was my first time with her I felt like I was in very capable hands. She talked to me about the color I wanted to make sure we got the best results I wanted. Very reasonably priced and she was very friendly throughout the whole process. I love how the color turned out and will definitely be coming back! read more

Connie with Native Wax is AMAZING!!!! I followed her from your past employer & saw her for over 5 years before I moved to Spokane. If I could afford the monthly trip to see her I would. She's incredibly easy to talk to, walks you thru the process (if your a beginner), and does a great job! 12/10 recommend read more

This review is for Michelle -- who is amazing! To preface, I get pretty severe anxiety over hair appointments to the point where I put it off... and put it off... and put it off... and that coupled with moving and leaving my old stylist behind meant that by the time I made my appointment with Michelle, my hair was in dire need of help and I was a nervous wreck. I have Asian hair and had been living with a grown out, orange balayage for 11 months before I saw Michelle. My first appointment with Michelle was to cut it from an overgrown A-line bob back into my preferred style of long layers. The cut was fantastic and exactly what I wanted. Michelle was so friendly, cheerful, and easy to talk to. With no hesitation I scheduled a full balayage appointment with Michelle to tackle the orange color. My second appointment was just as great as my first. Michelle patiently listened to what I wanted -- the ashiest brown hair possible. After we washed out the toner, Michelle immediately recognized that the color was not where we wanted it to be. She was so concerned that we hadn't reached the color I wanted, she offered to retone it again if I had the time. I did, so we did! I'm so appreciative she offered to take care of it right then and there despite her next appointment coming in soon. It was so worth it, because the second time a round, the color was phenomenal and exactly what I'd been hoping for. Thank you Michelle! read more

Love love love this place. I recently moved here from CO and I was nervous to find a salon here in Seattle and I got super lucky with this place. I needed a healthy trim and a spruce up on my bags and Alexis did a fantastic job. My hair feels so much better! I'll be back for sure. Thanks ladies read more

This review is for Connie of Native Wax, located within R&R Studio. Connie is an eyebrow ARTIST. I've been seeing her for about six months now and she is so consistent in helping me maintain my brows. She is so kind and welcoming, her space is cozy and stylish, and I don't experience any sort of irritation with the products she uses. She does an incredible job every time and I am so thrilled to have discovered her! Thank you so much, Connie! read more

I honestly hate getting my haircut mainly because women's haircuts are always so expensive and I don't think they're worth it for trims. I tend to give myself trims as needed and have been cutting my own hair for 10 years after feeling displeased with a haircut around high school. The only time I'll seek out a professional is when I wanna chop my locks off. I recently moved to the neighborhood and after researching on Yelp the various different hairdressers in the Greenwood area, I bestowed myself here. I made an appointment with Michelle and she is extremely talented! My hair was below chest level prior to going and I left with an asymmetrical long bob. She is so quick and so precise, and made sure to always ask whether I was okay with the length or if I wanted it shorter. She valued my feedback and asked for it along the way rather than just doing what she wanted. The salon has independent hairdressers in a shared space so when you book an appointment, you choose which hairdresser you would like. The space is clean and the products they use are great! It is pricey, and with my history I probably wouldn't come here for just a trim but if I need another fabulous haircut I will definitely come back! My experience was well worth the price which leaves the only downside to be parking. It's right on Greenwood Ave so good luck finding residential parking. read more

Summer is the greatest hair stylist I've ever been to, and I'm not exaggerating. I have literally never been as happy with my hair as I am after seeing Summer. She knows color like the back of her hand and will give you the most flattering cut. Also Connie is an INCREDIBLE waxer. She waxed and tinted my brows better than I've had before. I will never go to anyone besides these two women for my hair and waxing needs. read more

I had one great hair cut from Alexis. Several months later I booked another appointment two weeks out. The day before my appointment Alexis asked if I could move my appointment to the following day instead. I had no problem with that so I did. The day of my appointment, she texted me to cancel. This was a great inconvenience for me. But I booked the soonest appointment after that which was another two weeks out. She did not bother to try to get me in sooner even though she offered to help me reschedule. The day of my next appointment, she asked me again if I could change times just hours before my appointment. Considering my last appointment was canceled and no follow up was given within the two weeks I had to wait for another appointment (making me wait a total of a whole month) this was pretty disrespectful of my time. I have NEVER had someone ask me to jump through so many hoops just for a hair cut. I find this to be extremely unprofessional and do not recommend them as their customer's time clearly does not matter to them at all. Terrible customer service. read more

This review is for Connie at Native Wax, located within R&R Studio. Connie is an absolute gem! She is by far the best waxer I've ever seen -- clean, thorough, gentle, safe, and a great communicator. I've gone to several other places in Seattle and no one compares to Connie. She has a cool and calming personality, and her space is relaxing and pretty and works its magic to set you at ease (especially if you are a nervous first-time waxer). She's also very body-positive and nonjudgmental -- extremely important qualities for someone you're letting near your vulnerable bits. I found Connie through a random Yelp review wayyyy back in 2013 and if you're reading this, you should use THIS random Yelp review to discover Connie for yourself. She is the best! read more

I'm so grateful to the fine folks at R&R, especially to Caroline, for my experience last week! I've had my hair cut by Caroline before (she's wonderful!! Great at visioning and creating artful, elegant hair--queer hairdo friendly -- and a lovely human to boot), but never before at this studio until last week. It has great, cozy ambiance and everyone there was really kind. So especially appreciative of how graciously Caroline and staff supported me when I became unexpectedly ill in the studio. They were all so friendly and heartfelt in helping me get settled until I felt better. I highly recommend! I will definitely be back and telling all my friends about it. read more

Caroline is a curly hair genius. I have long curly hair and she knows just what to do with it so it looks great with very little effort from me on a day-to-day basis. I've also been to her to add some fun color and she did a fantastic job. I'm can't recommend her enough! read more

I'm so glad Audrey is back in the new space, which is clean, light and welcoming! Audrey did my cut and color and she is awesome! Not only does she listen to what you want but also offers some suggestions, which makes it even better. After coming home from my appointment my husband commented that he really liked the style, cut and color...he always says this but he repeated it several times today, which is unusual, so Audrey gets an A+ from my husband too! In addition to a great new 'do, she is super easy and fun to talk to. I've had stylists that aren't and Audrey's gift of gab makes the appointment fly by. Highly recommended her! read more

I made an appointment with Michelle for the first time ever and decided I wanted her to cut off all my hair (about 12 inches). When I asked for her opinion she gave me great feedback on what she thought would look good on me and then started cutting! The cut she gave me was nothing short of perfection! Her short hair skills are amazing and she is hilarious and fun to chat with!! For those of you wanting edging bobs or short fun cuts Michelle is definitely your girl (I'm sure her skills are just as amazing on long hair too ;))! Thank you Michelle for the amazing cut!! read more

I have been following Summer for haircuts for ten years now and I'm so glad she is back in Seattle! I have curly hair and have tried a lot of stylists over the years including a few specializing in curly cuts including Ouidad and Diva cuts, but Summer gives me a much better cut every time. I've gone from super short boyish cut to shoulder length curls. I'm always impressed with Summer's attention to detail. The cuts are beautiful, easy to maintain and hold their shape between cuts well. While I don't do color often anymore when I change it up with some color in my hair Summer always steers me the right way and does a great job! read more

I recently broke up with my long term hairstylist and found great reviews for Caroline on yelp. I was not disappointed!!! She listened to what I was looking for, advised on my hair and what would work best, and did her magic. My hair is that kind that is kind of wavy, thickish, and a bit frizzy. I have a hard time managing it and using the right products. Caroline did a great job explaining to me some products to use and how to style it the way I explained I liked it. I love the cut and will be back to see Caroline! read more

Everyone needs to see Connie at Native Wax in R&R studio. Connie is an outstanding esthetician who is exceptionally skilled at her job. I had my brows done by her and I've never received so many compliments on them before. She takes her time and makes sure every hair is in place. I go to her for all my waxing and skin care needs I can't say enough good things about Connie and my experiences with her. read more

AMAZING esthetician!!! I love Connie who runs her waxing business out of r&r (Native Wax Seattle)! She always does an AMAZING job with my brows and is just the sweetest. I have been a client of Sara's for several years and through a few different salons. She has great instinct for color and blend and I have always left happy with my hair. I see her social media posts of her clients who are clearly more adventurous with their hair than I am so I really appreciate that she knows when I just want the same cut or colors several times in a row! The new salon is beautiful, open and totally reflects the owners' style. read more

Thomasin was recommended to me by a friend a year or two ago and I've been going to her ever since. She does the best sugaring. I switched from waxing to sugaring a while ago - it's gentler on my skin and I think hurts much less. I had gotten sugaring done at other a few other salons (some which specialize in sugaring) and can definitely say that Thomasin is the BEST in Seattle! And as a bonus, she's lovely and I always enjoy getting to see her. read more

I searched for a stylist for years before finding Summer--and now, 8 years later, I've never looked back. I am constantly getting compliments on my highlights and feel totally confident in Summer's capable hands. read more

Summer assured me that she had Vidal Sasson training and knew how to do a precision haircut. My haircut looks like an old Buster Brown cut! Precision hair cuts are angled...this is not. Summer also said I should not have my hair cut to my cheekbone because my face will look puffed out, and then she cut my hair to my cheekbone. IF YOU WANT A PRECISION HAIR CUT DO NOT COME HERE. This is the worst cut I have received in many years. read more

CURLY GIRLS LOOK NO FURTHER! Summer is a curly hair guru! I have been seeing Summer for over 7 years, and she does a wonderful job. I have thick curly hair which has different curl structures ranging from 3B to 2C. I've had a hard time finding someone who can cut it whilst understanding the difference in my hair texture and not causing big gaps in layers due to the way my hair curls. Summer is incredible! When I first found her she fixed a literal hole in my hair and since she has maintained my hair long and created an awesome short style. She's nothing short of amazing and reasonably priced! Highly recommend! read more

Thomasin is a sugaring genius! Over the years I have referred about ten of my friends to her for Brazilian sugaring and other sugaring needs and all come back with raving reviews as well. Location: At this Greenwood location it is always easy to find street parking no more than a block a way. The salon is adorably decorated and homey by their new owners, clean, and welcoming! First timers - Afraid of sugaring or waxing? Or an old time pro? Thomasin in the most precise and professional. I call her the sugaring goddess because as someone who is not good with pain "down there" she makes it seem painless!! Overall, I couldn't give more of a raving review for Thomasin. She has not only become a friend over the year, but it extremely talented at what she does. Her work is flawless, and I always leave feeling happy and even more beautiful. She has a gift and without a doubt you won't find anyone better in Seattle. You will actually enjoy and look forward to your sugaring appointment... who thought that was even possible! read more

I love my new haircut from Alexis! She listened and gave me just what I was looking for. My dreary straight long hair is now full of layers and bounce. I'm extremely picky when it comes to my hair. I've had many terrible experiences with various hair artists, but when I met with Caroline, I immediately felt at ease. She is very easygoing and actually listens to what you want and communicates continually at your appointment. Ive had multiple haircuts and hair styles and also had her balayage my hair. All these times it was a FANTASTIC experience and I cannot recommend her enough! I have stick straight hair that doesn't want to do much, but thanks to her suggestions, my hair actually has *style* now! She knows her stuff and it sure does show in her work! read more

So glad I found this place! Making an appointment was fast and easy thanks to their online option. After a series of bad balayages (the stylist I was previously going to did such a terrible job on the last round I couldn't get myself to go back), I knew I had to find someone new. Luckily I booked with Michelle who took my tired and stressed looking long locks to the next level! Her placement and color was amazing, better than I could have ever expected. She's talented and on point, recommend her for either a color or cut (or both, go ahead and spoil yourself). My hair is wavy and comes in abundance, but that didn't seem to faze her at all. The salon is also cute and clean. Coziest washing stations ever. Will definitely be returning. read more
