I had a very disappointing experience with Deanna when I went for a pedicure. She was extremely unwelcoming, cold and terse. She didn't seem to be happy to be at work. She didn't once ask if I had any special requests. She didn't even ask how I wanted my nails shaped, she just started working on them. (And for context, I work in retail customer service, so know sub-par service when I see it.) I concur with Kathy P's review on 6/6/23, although her experience sounds much more overtly hostile. For the price, I had assumed I would be in a private room with a reclining chair but her station is in the middle of the salon. The chair is a chair, no relaxing reclining going on. The quality of the pedicure itself was fine, although as soon as she was done she started putting my sandals back on which of course ruined one of the nails she had just polished. I asked her if I could sit and wait for them to dry and she unenthusiastically said, "You can't wait here because I have another client coming. You can go sit at the entrance if you want." Needless to say, people get pedicures in part to feel a bit pampered. I don't expect to be fawned over, but a little bit of pleasant conversation and a relaxed, unhurried experience is typical. read more

The spa and facial treatment we received was the perfect antidote to an extremely stressful week of pre-nuptial logistics. Luckily I found Spruce while i was down in Fremont! Super easy to book online with them. I scheduled a Gel Manicure and Pedicure. The nail technician gave such a relaxing foot massage and I love how she also explained that everything she was using is organic. Even the Gel polish is non-toxic! I love the aesthetic and how clean the salon is. They also use Eminence Organic products which is my favorite skin line and i swear by! I had a terrible experience right from the start even before the pedicure began.... Upon arrival the nail technician Deanna was so rude and abrasive, and that was while my husband and I were still outside on the sidewalk waiting patiently for my appointment and chatting. Deeana opened the door and rudely said, "ARE YOU HERE FOR AN APPOINTMENT?!! To which I replied, "yes I am. Flustered she rudely says, "IS IT FOR NAILS???!I said, "Yes, I have a pedicure appointment. Then she responds snappily, "WELL THEN YOU'RE WITH ME, YOU CAN COME INSIDE BUT I'M LOCKING THE DOOR BEHIND ME!!" And then she glared at my husband and rudely asks, "ARE YOU COMING IN TOO?!!!" My husband replied that he was going to wait in the car, clearly because she was so rude and wasn't welcoming at all. When I stepped inside the salon she was just looking at me weirdly, and glaring at me she then turns away from me and says, "I'M DEANNA BY THE WAY!" She was so condescending, aggressive, and angry I didn't know what to think. Her demeanor and tone the whole time was just so damn off putting that it tainted my experience in its entirety. The only plus is that the salon is health conscious and carries great products like Eminence Organics. Eventually she started to kind of thaw but even the "nice" version of her was forced because she still had random flashes of annoyance andanger. It was just the most bizarre pedicure appointment I've ever had. I know she was well aware of her terrible behavior because more than halfway through the pedicure she made some excuses as to why she wasn't an "outgoing greet your clients type person". It could've been a totally different experience had she been friendly and professional from the start. A simple greeting of "hello, are you waiting for a nail appointment? You're more than welcome to to wait inside and I'll be with you in a minute." Would've have been reasonable or at the very least a "Hi, are you waiting for an appointment? I'll just be a few mins." Anything remotely kind would've been fine, I didn't ask her to come out and ask what we were waiting for, we were literally standing on the sidewalk minding our own business, but SHE decided to inquire what why waiting and then proceeded to be mad that I was her client. She made us feel like we were the scum of the earth. The pedicure appointment was supposed to be a nice and relaxing gift from my husband not a "I'll never go in that place ever again" type experience. The vibes from her were extremely foul. In hindsight I should've just walked out but I was so stunned by the negative energy and how uncomfortable she made it, I didn't know what to do but suffer silently. It might be doable to hang in there if the pedicure was phenomenal. That it was not! No foot massage, slight stroking of the front of the leg only, the water in the foot spa was no spa it was just a tub that she filled two skinny pitchers with lukewarm and cold ass water. It was 90 minutes of my life I will never get back and $95 for a pedicure that sucked! There are gel polish lumps on my toes and some toes are partially painted. I don't know what happened to her that morning, maybe she didn't eat breakfast? Who knows, but I was definitely her toilet that day. All I know is that you can tell from first point of contact she is NOT the nicest person you'll ever meet, it is a shame that she works with humans at all. Don't make the same mistake that I did, if someone you're PAYING to give you a service is dousing you in negative vibes protect your peace and just LEAVE. read more

Molly is great! Her salon is cute and clean and her staff is friendly and knowledgeable! Molly did a partial foil for me and it turned out great! And so fast! So so fast! She was able to handle my massive root grow out(that I do on purpose) without giving me a hard time about how "when you let your roots get so long it's a color correction, blah blah blah" that other stylists have given me in the past... Recently my mother and I received pedicures at Spruce Salon. Deanna was our nail tech. I wanted to post this review because I saw the review that only left 1 star, and that is not the experience we received at all. My mother is elderly and diabetic, so we are careful about where we go for pedicures. We love that this salon offers natural products. The service was excellent. Deanna was welcoming, kind and took such good care of us. She was attentive my mother the entire service. The pedicure was great and feels great even after a few weeks! Lindsay at Spruce Salon is the best hairstylist I've EVER had! She always does a very thorough consultation with me, but honestly I would trust her judgement to do whatever she wants because she has great taste and makes every hair cut and color look good. She clearly knows what she's doing and understands my complex hair textures and colors. She helps me thin out my unruly curls, layers my waves perfectly, takes my frizzy baby hairs and creates a low maintenance balyage color that brings out my natural high and lowlights without showing any grow out. She also does my mom's hair and she has created a lightened, natural look for her that completely blends her grey hairs in to her blondes and browns -- I've never seen my mom happier with her hair! Lindsay knows I am a dog walker who needs an easy, wash-and-go style I can wear up most days, but that also looks good when I take it down. She also does the best on-heat styling I've ever had after every cut and color. I've never been 100% happy with any hair cut before her, but now I never worry about my hair anymore! I know I'm in good hands with Lindsay, and I look forward to spending time with her in the beautifully quaint salon 4 times a year. I'm sorry to say I did not have a good experience. The haircut I had was good but the color was not. I also had more dandruff than I've ever had. After about a week or so living with the color I was deeply unhappy. I was crying about how my hair looked. I reached out to say I wasn't happy. I was extremely unhappy with the reaction. I was told her books are too full to make a correction. At my next appt we'll do something different and I can go somewhere else in the meantime. This appt was around $300. That's $300 down the drain. If she can't fit me in to correct it, shouldn't I get my money back? That also wasn't offered. I wound up going somewhere else and loving my hair. But this was not an experience I want to repeat. I am out $300 and had a color I would not want to have again. read more

Amelie is a fantastic stylist! I have fine hair that has a slight wave/curl when cut in a way that brings it out. I came in with medium length hair with layers that had grown out in a unideal way, and asked Amelie for a style that would bring out my natural wave and have a little more face framing, without having actual bangs. Amelie really took the time to listen to what I wanted, and she has the skill to bring it to life! I came to Becca (Beesando Hair) several months into COVID with dry, over processed, frankly crazy hair. I have seen her twice now for a cut and color and to say my hair looks totally new is an understatement. My natural curls have sprung back, it is shiny, and it is so much easier to manage. Amelie is amazing! If you are looking to have your hair well taken care of-being it a color change, especially fun punky colors she is your girl! I have never had such healthy hair despite coloring. She looks at the photos of what I like and makes my hair even better. I love the fact that they use low odor and organic products. My experiences with my hair stylist, Lindsay, have been amazing. I started going to Lindsay after I lost all my hair during chemo. It started coming back completely foreign to me - different texture, different color - and after 50 years of 'knowing' my hair, I was thrown into newbie hair! With all the other changes that had happened during breast cancer, I just wasn't ready to have to deal with the new hair too! As my hair began to grow in, Lindsay helped me ease into a variety of different styles, with the patience of a saint and a lot of good humor, too!
