I appreciate how she listens well to what I want and always makes my hair look great both with the cut and the color. I have followed her from salon to salon for at least 10 years and would never see anyone else. I also love that she remembers little details about me between visits and asks about my life. She is easy to talk to. The salon itself is very cute. The art and furnishings are comfortable and fun. There is a parking garage so I can always find a spot to park. I've been seeing Brynn Chadwick for the last 10 years or so. I love my Brynn. If you have curly hair, she is the lady to see! She has curly hair herself so she knows how it can behave and she knows how to cut it so it hangs well. I've had a lot of REALLY bad haircuts so finding her was fantastic. The salon is really cute and they use Aveda products. Luckily they don't pressure you to buy any products but they are available if you want them. There's a sunny place to sit if you're waiting, and lots of magazines and books of pictures of haircuts to peruse. Parking can sometimes take a few minutes, but if you plan to arrive a few minutes early, you shouldn't have a problem. read more

I'm a low-maintenance gal and Rhonda at Brown Hair has a gift for giving me cuts that need nothing more than a quick blow-dry - if even that (YES, It's rare to have such a great cut that you don't even need to dry it some days!) Went to Brown Hair Salon and saw Britnie to help fix a few bad haircut and color jobs after moving to Seattle last year and trying a few different salons. I didn't know how to ask for what I needed so Britnie took the time to talk through some options with me and helped me articulate what I like and don't. She did an awesome job and was a pleasure to spend a lot of time with during all the procedures!! I've been going to Brynn Chadwick at Brown Hair for more than ten years, and if she ever moves away or retires I don't know what I'll do. I first went to her on the recommendation of a friend, for the very first real haircut of my life. I'd had very long hair ever since I was a kid, and had finally decided it was time for a big change, but I was scared. In a situation like that, it can be kind of a big deal getting your hair cut off. But I was THRILLED with the sassy short cut Brynn gave me! I've been going to her regularly ever since. She is always fun to talk to, always good company, and was tolerant and patient with me on the one or two occasions when I was *koff-koff* a bit of a stress case. I am really picky and particular about my hair and I had exceptionally difficult hair to color and did not have much luck with finding a hair dresser after moving here - having tried many hair dressers/salons - Vain, Gene Juarez, local Wallingford and Fremont salons, salons in Canada, Gary Manuel, Beehive etc....which were just not right, either too expensive (over 350 for a cut and color) , too pretentious, to too sloppy - the red hair color was patchy. I was told by some hair dressers that I was too picky and that they could not make the red stay in my hair and to find somebody else. Usually my red highlights washed out after one wash or dripped all over staining my clothes or I once even walked out of a salon with hair dye all over my neck - after paying 250 dollars for a cut and color. I found that Aveda hair colors work well and Brown Hair in the area had Aveda products. So as it was close by, I called a lot of times since they do not have a receptionist as they are independent contractors at the salon - I was reluctant to leave a message and did not know who I should even book an appointment with. When I finally did - I was super glad because Len from Brown Hair called me back and set up a consultation. Len was fantastic and took a lot of time trying to determine what I wanted - a red ombre which was pretty challenging for most to achieve in Asian hair. He booked aside a Saturday and really took the utmost care to put in foils and cover the occasional grey and cut and style and after several hours for an unbelievably low price - I ended up with with the best hair color, cut and style that I have ever had in the last 20 years. It was better than I could ever imagine. During the hours that Len worked on me - he was a fantastic listener and was very nice and was just an incredible guy. He was comfortable to be around and I did not feel like I had to do weird small talk and truly enjoyed talking to him. I feel like I truly left the salon having made a new friend with the best hair stylist in the city. He has been doing hair for over 25 years and despite meeting him for the first time, I had a good feeling about him and I trusted him and I am glad I did. Len at Brown Hair was fantastic and I am so glad that I found a fantastic stylist so close to home that is so reasonably priced and so highly skilled in such a clean unpretentious but trendy pleasant salon in my neighborhood and no worries about parking. Britnie takes time to really listen to your vision and creates it better then you can imagine; better yet she offers her professional opinion (but doesn't force) and checks in with you throughout the process. I've been going to Candice at Brown Hair for a couple years now and love her. I'm really low maintenance with my hair so I usually go 6-8 months without a cut. Candice respects that decision and welcomes be back every time. When I do come back it's great to see her. I have pretty thick, wavy hair, that can get a bit frizzy at times. Because of the texture I've had lots of stylists in the past tell me what I can't do with my hair. Candice doesn't do that! She gives me layers that make my hair feel light and bouncy when styled but also really easy to wash-and-go. Candice is the first hairstylist I've found that I actually want to come back to. I love Mary, the owner of Brown Hair. I found her through a friend and I am so glad I did. My hair is thick and wavy and has a mind of its own. My cuts are the best I've ever had and like another reviewer said, I don't need to do anything to it, just wash and let it go. I am constantly asked who does my hair. Mary has given me advice on hair health, color (I do my own, but I've seen great color walk out of there) and what will work best for what I want my hair to do. She listens and 'gets' it when you tell her what you'd like. And she's fun to spend the time with. Free bang trims and a little extra shaping too if needed, during them. She wants you to be happy and welcomes comments. The salon is lovely and bright with natural light. Cuts are reasonable priced. I just moved to Seattle and I was in need of finding a great hair salon. To Yelp! I went to Brown Hair, and to Len, after reading Laura M.'s review. She was right on with her experience with him. Brown Hair offers great quality products and in Len's hands they work magic. My hair (down to my butt) was totally a patchwork of different blondes from cosplay events and really needed some expert help. I also wanted a purple chunk underneath, quite a lot to figure out in one visit. Len was up to the challenge and did a fantastic job, giving me the more natural blonde look by integrating my own colour back in where I had gone overboard while giving me something that is low maintenance as it grows out (I did not even know that was possible!). He also really took the time to get the exact purple I wanted, going back a couple time to make sure the look was right. Len's prices are also incredibly reasonable for the level of attention to detail and time you get, and I never felt pressured to buy this or that, which was really nice. We did talk products, however, and I received some great tips. Len is great to talk to and I felt totally comfortable chatting with him during the hours it took to fix the mess I had created. I was a little uneasy with booking within the independent contractor system, but I am so glad I took Laura M's advice. Len is absolutely the best hair dresser I have ever been to and I am so happy I found him! Go see Len! You won't regret it. read more
