    Micah W.

I have been seeing Tara for almost two years now and don't plan on changing that anytime soon. She is such an expert on all things hair. My blonde balayage lasts so long and still looks amazing after a few months of growth. Tara has really helped me take my fine hair from drabby to incredibly healthy. So thankful for this incredible stylist who not only knows her stuff but is such a joy and pleasure to be around!

I got my hair done with Tara back in July and it was the worst hair color and stylist experience I've had. This was my first time seeing Tara. I initially requested a consult, but she said she wasn't doing those, so I emailed her pictures of my hair and my inspiration for my balayage appointment. I had all-over color over old balayage with lots of red and coppery tones, which I wanted to freshen and liven up to "caramelly and sun-kissed". She suggested a "color correction" but never explained what this was. At the salon, I reiterated that I wanted caramel, sun-kissed hair/balayage, and that I liked the tones of my hair, just wanted it to feel fresh. Never did I say I wanted it darker or cooler. She said she got it, and went about mixing color. Not once did she explain what her process for "color correction" would be, that it would require multiple visits, and that I would walk out with my hair looking nothing like what I requested. She was also not very friendly. I don't expect a stylist to blab with me for 3 hours, but some general interest in your clients would be nice when you're dropping hundreds of dollars. The only dialogue that was exchanged was "where do you live?", which was a question initiated by me. She didn't converse, not even about what she was doing to my hair. There was zero interest in retaining me as a client. Cut to when my hair is done, and it's awful. DARK brown base color including a chunk on the underside by my neck, with streaky blonde "balayage" that is gray/ashy/green-toned and doesn't look painted or sun-kissed at all -- see photos. When I started to question it in the chair, she said that I would need to "give it a couple of days, trust her" (??? shouldn't I be leaving the salon happy, not waiting a couple of days?) and hurried me to the register. I was kind and giving her the benefit of the doubt, and she took advantage of that just to get my money and go. I went home and shared my hair with my partner and friends (several who are stylists) and they were all shocked at how terrible it was, especially considering what I asked for. I texted Tara about my hesitations and dissatisfaction with the hair, and she sent me a highly defensive, passive aggressive, and unprofessional novel of a text. She borderline shamed me about the state of my hair when I came in, even though I've been getting it professionally done for years. She told me that I should "try curling it" to like it. She even stated that she had been hesitant to do my hair and actually didn't think what I wanted was achievable, and almost didn't accept my appointment, but withheld that information from me and still proceeded to do my hair. This is so unacceptable. If she had communicated to me any hesitancy about doing my hair, I would've been thrilled at the honesty -- I don't want someone not confident doing my hair. If she felt like she couldn't deliver the results I wanted, she absolutely should have communicated that. But she didn't express any of this when I was sitting in her chair. She acted like we were completely on the same page. Her "remedy" was to offer a toning, right after she suggested we "might not be the right fit". I obviously did not feel at all comfortable returning to see her. She offered a 50% refund (which I never received), stating "policies" don't allow her to fully refund me, however considering her extreme lack of professionalism, ability to own up to her poor communication and delivery, and the fact that I had to pay hundreds of dollars to undo what she did, a full refund should've been given. She is in charge of her own business, so it's not her policies, it's her refusal to refund me. I've been to stylists from hair schools to Robert Leonard, and all of the above were better than this experience with Tara. I've had beautiful balayage done when my hair looked similar to my before photo, and not once did the other stylist do a color correction or act like it was undoable. I recognize it was likely an off experience for her, but that shouldn't be my burden, and she should've made it right by admitting her fault and refunding me. Instead, she just fought me. I've since shared this experience and Tara's texts with other hair stylists, and they are always floored by her lack of professionalism, humility, and talent. Oh and by the way, the hair didn't get any "better" after 48 hours -- it stayed dark, ashy, and gray -- one of my friends likened it to an anime character.

Hints of red but more brunette! Exactly what I wanted

She is very talented with what she does and very very attentive to make sure to get you what you want. We always have fun conversations as well. I'm Asian and our hair isn't the easiest to work with. I usually get my hair done when I visit Korea (but then COVID happened) or choose to find a Korean salon here, but I wasn't able to find one in Seattle nearby that lived up to my expectations. I also don't change my hair much - last time I got it chemically treated was almost 3 years ago, which I think makes chemical treatments tricky. Bleaching prior to coloring took a VERY LONG time but Tomoko was very patient with me and made sure we achieved the color I wanted. And despite bleaching for quite a while, I don't feel like my hair was damaged much (if at all). Oh, and oh my god, the head massage while washing my hair was A M A Z I N G. I think it was the best head massage I've ever gotten and I sort of wished I could stay there forever. The salon isn't big, but very well prepped for the pandemic (they check for your temperature prior to entering the salon, ask to wash your hands, everyone wears a mask and currently they don't use a blowdryer to dry your hair to minimize risks - they used a bonnet hood attachment for me) and I felt safe during both my appointments. As for pricing, it definitely isn't cheap but I think the salon lives up to the price and everything is transparent and as listed on their website.

Yuka was so accommodating, and she's great at what she does. They put in a lot of safety measures because of the pandemic, including doing a temperature check, having you wash your hands before you can get service done, and they've also made sure that everything is sparkling clean. I felt safe and well-taken care of the whole time I was here. I'm so excited to have finally found my hairstylist in Seattle! I can't recommend Berry Berry and Yuka enough.

When I moved out here in December 2025, I was understandably concerned about how my hair would look with a new stylist and whether I would find someone (it took me a few years to find the right person in NYC). I booked an appointment with Antonio and I am so glad that I did! He listened to my concerns, took the shape of face and hair type into consideration and gave me this amazing haircut that is growing out beautifully! He was such a pleasure to work with. I will be booking with Antonio from now on. For my color, Antonio referred me to Mackenzie, who gave me this wonderful color that I absolutely love, a wonderful dark caramel color. The salon front desk staff were also very kind and attentive, overall a wonderful salon to go to. I'm looking forward to my next appointment!

After growing my hair out for the last 12…read moremonths because I started chemo and I lost a lot of it my fiancé surprise me with a full Salon experience at Antonio Salon! the haircut was $130 and it took three hours to mess up my hair. I scheduled my appointment with Hannah because I saw her social media and it seemed similar to what I was hoping my hair to be. she was the newest stylist it listed her as but the Salon got such great reviews I didn't think it mattered. I get there and she's already running 30 minutes late I say no problem because I'm in the industry and I understand. She puts me in my chair and she doesn't brush it out she doesn't section it she starts cutting it with texturizing shears and starts thinning it out by slide cutting and also point cutting. She never once took a section she never once parted it with clips. She thin it out washed me, send it out again while Wet, had an assistant dry me, and then texturized it again to the point where I told her I didn't need any more texturizing I noticed in the mirror while they were blow drying how it looked very broken and weight thinner than I had originally come in. The system was having a hard time curling my hair due to health than it was so I attempted to treat myself seeing as I'm a hairstylist as well and even I couldn't put a curl through it because I had such a little hair. I waited a few days because I didn't want to upset the stylist cause I liked her as a person but once I got home and saw how uneven how thin and how damaged my hair is now I called to rebook an appointment. Not necessarily because I wanted a new cut but because I just wanted someone to section it and maybe think of a style I could create out of what was left. They rescheduled my appointment three times and gave me three different stylist before I received an email last night the day before my appointment informing me that after they reviewed the photos I had emailed them, refunded me my money and that they canceled my appointment. I never once got a text or a call to notify me about the cancellation so I proceeded to go to my appointment. When I got there they had completely just deleted everything about me and I was greeted defensively by the owner. He apparently already knew my name and that I was a hairstylist and started off by telling me that they don't have time for me and that that he doesn't think his lawn was right for me. I told him that I needed him to take accountability and help me try to fix what he allowed one of his stylist to do and he continued to push back telling me to leave that he wasn't gonna help me that there were no stylist that we're gonna help me at his salon. He then threatened to call the cops on me and the building manager I agree that they can come and look at my hair as well. He continued to yell at me and belittle me without even looking at my hair. He then tried to gaslight me telling me that my hair was already like that before the haircut and that he thinks it looks fine and that there was nothing wrong with it. After telling him that I already had an appointment he then said why didn't you just tell me that and got me in with an apprentice to just blow dry my hair. She was informed not to talk about my Hair to me not to section my hair, and also not to discuss my correction. He then came over when the service was complete and told me that I needed to leave and I asked him if he could just section a piece to look at it with me he said no and told me to leave once again. This is the worst place I've ever experienced Hair! I have been in the industry for 12 years and have also owned my own studio salon and I would never treat anybody let alone a client paying $110 the way that this salon treated me. I have video recording and pictures to prove everything along with him telling me that I need to leave multiple times. This is the worst Salon! the owner has no right to call himself an owner after treating a customer the way that he treated me. All I was asking for was for someone to section my hair to acknowledge the fact that it is broken and damaged and uneven. And he couldn't even do that let alone allow another stylist to do it. I will be taking the Salon! to court, I will be posting all of the videos on TikTok and all other social media platforms. I left looking like I have a mushroom on top of my head with tentacles hanging down. This place is a rip off. And does not deserve to be in business.

I also appreciate that she held off on cutting too much off on layers at first, then let me decide if I wanted to take more off later. She is a stylist that I truly trust. Also, I asked her SO many questions about curly hair, products, my hair type etc. and she was very helpful and had great recommendations. As far as this service, it is so worth it and feels luxurious. Especially if you are new to curly hair, don't know how to style it, or have never had a curly cut before (this was my first one). You start with cutting your hair (dry of course), then washing, treatment, wet styling, diffusing, and then additional cutting as needed once it's dry and styled and you can see how everything lays. It was so relaxing to sit under the bowl diffuser (they give you free beverages too), and she walks you through exactly how she's wet styling your hair as you go. She did a great job and I highly recommend!

She gave me a blow out so my hair looked beautiful leaving but the next day washing it seeing my natural waves and curls and really inspecting the cut. I look a bit chopped. The front was not face framing instead she gave me 4 steps. The front is uneven and choppy as heck. My hair is gone so no way to fix that and wouldn't trust her to fix it tbh so I have to take an expensive loss. I cried all night yesterday just looking at the front pieces. Just embarrassing. I paid a lot and tipped very well just for it to look like an amateur cut my hair. Don't come here. I regret coming here as I looked better with my dead ends. I could've cut my own hair better which I have. This was supposed to be a pick me up to make me feel beautiful now 2 days later I am in regret not feeling like how I should and wanted. Sooooo expensive and terrible results. Also they could've been friendlier. I felt she got tired blow drying my hair. They are supposed to be knowledgeable in long, thick hair, curly hair, wavy hair.
