I got my roots touch-up and gloss on my hair today. When I came home, under the light, my roots look orange/red as opposed to the dark chocolate brown I asked for. The hair color wasn't washed properly from the back of the head and the sweatshirt I was wearing is now stained with color. My hair is limp, with zero volume. To top it all, I wasn't made aware of the "Salon care brand" charge. This was a rude shock when I received the email receipt. I now have to spend extra money to go to a new salon to get my roots fixed, my top is ruined. I'm NEVER coming back again. read more

Uneven highlights, damaged hair, colorist was far off from the roots, and poor customer service from manager. Colorist bleached parts near my face that I've intentionally kept dark, despite direction. It's hard to imagine a colorist not noticing how uneven their application is, nor how far from the roots they reached. (See pics) When I reached out to customer service to address, the manager was unapologetic, offered a $70 refund and said I could come back in and they could "fix" it. I wasn't going to give Fix another 4-hours of my time for more uncertain results, when the damage was done and so many things were missed during the first 4-hours. A $70 refund on a ~$200-300 service doesn't acknowledge that the client will have to spend another 4-hours with another salon and invest at least the same $300 to fix the errors. Plus some errors, like over bleaching, which has led to permanent damage, breaking and ongoing tangle management with that section, can't be fixed. If they had taken accountability for putting someone on the floor to do work they weren't ready for and credited and apologized, I would have gone on to fix it elsewhere and not write this review. Since this appointment, their salon emails show the manager is focused on false PR to promote a business that just isn't run with good talent or leadership. Thankfully Fix doesn't represent how great the hair colorist industry is. There are so many amazing stylists, colorists and salon managers out there. I just can't recommend you this one. read more

I'm not normally the person to leave a poor review but after my experience I felt like I had no choice so that others don't have the same thing happen to them. I booked an appointment with Anthony and the first photo is the look I requested. My hair was the same length, and I didn't need any color, just the cut. I was hoping for some big blowout layers just for some shape. The haircut was so quick it didn't feel like he spent any time measuring to ensure parts were even around my head and face. He confirmed with me that I didn't want to lose any length before starting, but then the cutting started and didn't stop. He sheared off all the length and thickness around my face, leaving a mullet-looking tail section in the back bottom layer. After leaving I immediately went to a different local salon in a full panic, asking for someone to help fix my hair because my sister's wedding was just a week away. The new stylist was an angel and did the best she could, but all that could be done was to chop it all off and attempt to blend the awful layers. I asked for a refund from Fix but they would not give me one, just the offer to go back and have someone else help fix my hair. As you can assume, I will never be returning so this review is where I'm at. read more

Mandy did an excellent job of my hair cut and balayage. I hadn't dyed my hair for 18 years and I figured I would finally try it. She customized the color for me and showed me how to style my hair with the different products. She was mindful of any sales of any hair product afterwards. She even offered to let me contact her for any hair questions or even contacts when I'm traveling for work. My hair feels so soft and I've gotten compliments on my hair. My first visit went really well. I saw Matea (mattie?) Unsure of how to spell her name. She did exactly what I had in mind, which was a foil and an ash tone. Our conversation was short, which I'm not a huge talker so not too much of a big deal, but I was left at the chair to process for a really long time. No one else was in the salon and I was alone. Aside from that, my hair looked great! My second visit was about a year and a half later. My hair was bleached with a faded copper on top. I went in for a consultation. Not only was my consultation 25 minutes late, but the girl quoted me almost $800!! I was floored. Never in my life have I been quoted this much for any hair service. I did some research and went somewhere else. The other place I found was cleaner, quieter, and more professional. They only charged me $325 for the color correction to get my hair to go from copper/pink to light ash brown. read more

This place is scam. Went in to get my hair cut and the first thing the stylist said was that she needed to charge me double because I have thick hair. If I dont want to get charged more, she needs to dry cut my hair because it will take her long time to dry and style my hair. I was in shock.... I have a lot of split ends so I just wanted to get it trimmed and get over with. I told her just to dry cut my hair. My appointment was at 4pm and I had to wait till 415 to get started because she was running late from her previous appointment. My hair cut ended at 445. Literally a freaking 30 minutes hair cut when she said I have think hair and it will take her long time to do my hair. And I didn't like how she cut my hair. I'll preface this by stating that my first experience with Vyvy was great, she gave me exactly what I wanted and was friendly. This rating goes towards my second experience with Rhiannon and the resulting response/handling of the that service by management aka Mandy. To keep it simple, this is what happened 1. I booked an appointment with Rhiannon for a lightening service. 2. I arrived with a darker color in mind and provided photos. At no point was I told my desired loom was not possible. 3. I did not get the look I wanted. 4. Mandy and her team were unable to offer an adequate fix and stood by their stylist, who did not communicate any limitations with me at the time of service. The vibe was, overall, unapologetic. 5. I WAY overpaid to get hair that did not look exactly how I asked. My haircut was also slightly lopsided. Also, although the individual stylists were friendly at time of service, the general atmosphere of this place is stuffy and not entirely welcoming. Would recommend one of the many other salons in Seattle if you are looking for a welcoming atmosphere and communicative stylists. read more

Updating my original review. I scheduled with my original stylist Paige far in advance but when she moved before my appointment date, Fix Salon reached out to me personally. They took accountability and offered to reschedule with a discount in services for the "inconvenience." I ended up being rescheduled on my original appointment date with Mandy, the owner and most-experienced stylist. I felt extremely well taken care of and valued as a client. For the actual hair appointment, I gave Mandy the general direction I wanted (face framing cut and warm caramel balayage), and let her take the wheel. She was superrrr meticulous with the highlight application and explained the next steps and future hair care. She then helped me put on a processing cap when I had to move my car to avoid a parking ticket, lol. She also did a beautiful job cutting subtle layers suited for my oval face shape. I was one of her very first models when she was in cosmetology school 5 years ago, ever since then she has been the one I go to for my hair. She's fun and her personality is infectious. I truly trust her, she makes me feel comfortable, and she put herself into the work she gives out; so when she announced she was moving to this salon, I followed along! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I had dark natural hair all over and especially at my roots. Came here for a cut yesterday to get bangs for the first time. Is 32 to old to get bangs for the first time? Maybe but who cares. My cut was with Mandy who clearly knows what she's doing. She considered my hair type, looked at the pictures I brought and gave me the exact bangs I wanted. She was so efficient and confident in what she was doing that I felt I could trust her. And I loved the result. The salon itself is clean and low key. Nothing crazy luxurious but I'd prefer cutting expertise over plush surroundings anyday. First service is 15% off which is a great deal. I even got a little goody bag when I left. My only slight criticism/feedback is that it might have been nice to have some tips on how to blow dry my bangs myself. After seeing a good review of Exo, I decided to go there to get bangs. Big mistake! She cut my bangs super uneven so one side was long and thin, and the other side was thick and short. She seemed to be in a rush and acted dismissive when I tried to show her photos of what I wanted with my bangs, so I think maybe that's why it looked so bad at the end. She did do a decent job cutting the rest of my hair so I will give her that. I'm sure she's a good stylist, but perhaps she was just tired or having a bad day when I went in. But yeah, I had to wear headbands for a month just to let my bangs grow out and look slightly less ridiculous before I eventually got them fixed at Scream Salon in Capitol Hill. I got my hair done here in November. I have been going back and forth on wether to leave a review or not but I just finally was able to get my hair fixed at another salon so I decided to. I went in the day before trying on wedding dresses. I let me stylist know I am trying to get an all over icy blond for my wedding by July 2022. And wanted to see how my dress will loook with hair similar to how it will be at my wedding. My hair was all over natural level 7/8 with some grown out highlights I had gotten 10 months earlier. She said it would take a few sessions to get my hair how I want. (I am currently a barber who used to do color in a salon for 7 years so I know how the process works ) the entire time she kept telling me how damaged my hair is and making me feel horrible about my self. If she didn't have lightner on my hair I would of walked out. You go to a salon to relax and feel good not to be shamed. Plus I cut off 6 inches the day before coming in) she told me I would need to cut at least 8 more inches of my hair for it to be healthy. I have basically all natural hair. My hair was not damaged at all. I have used high end salon products my entire life. My hair is healthy. . Once at the shampoo bowl she tells me my hair lifted red... I'm sorry but that's literally impossible considering I have natural blond hair. She toned my hair darker than it was before coming in because of the "red" I had no blond in my hair at all . And was down to a level 5/6. No light pieces no icy nothing. I was then charged over 300 dollars and told I have to make another appointment. I just wanted to get out of there so I said okay when ever and left. I got home and was in tears at how horrible my hair was. Flash forward to last week with a new stylists at a new salon. She got me to what I wanted in ONE session. Told me she doesn't know how it was even possible for the stylists at fix to mess up so bad and have me leave darker than when I walked in. I booked an appointment for my teenage son to get a nice haircut for the start of the school year. The haircut costs $77 for a basic trim, which is a little on the expensive side but I knew the price ahead of time and wanted an experienced stylist to cut my son's hair. The L3 stylist gave an adequate trim. But that was not good enough. This L3 stylist sale-pressured my teenage son into buying $50 for a bottle of shampoo and conditioner that he did not need. Everyone knows that you should not buy hair products at salons right? The products are unreasonably marked up and expensive and the stylists are told and compensated to give the hard sell. I didn't warn my naive son ahead of time to "say no to the hard sell of shampoos and conditioners you don't need". So shame on me. But also, shame on YOU Exo not being content with the easiest $77 fee of the day, you had to pressure a teenage boy into buying $50 of shampoo and conditioner. Seriously - who wants to pay top dollar at a reputable salon to get pressured to buy products? Was the $50 worth leaving a really bad taste and losing a customer for life? read more

So pleased with my time at Fix Salon! I've seen Anthony twice now for partial balayages and cuts. Each time the results materialized to what I imagined and asked for. On top of curating top notch hair, Anthony is warm and approachable to talk to. He's validated my hairstyle requests and provided helpful information on the balayage process as well as at-home hair care. I trust him 100% with my Asian hair. Relative COVID, Fix Salon has navigated the social distancing and other mandates very well. They're intentional to make the salon experience enjoyable while also safe. I recently moved to Seattle. I spent hours reading reviews and doing research to find a new hair salon, and I'm so happy I came across Fix. I had my first appointment last week. Although I loved the cut, I wasn't a huge fan of how the color turned out. The highlights were great, it just wasn't "me." I left the appointment feeling a bit iffy about my new look. When I received a feedback request I mentioned it, and received an email from the owner shortly after. I went back to Fix to get my color adjusted today and I'm so happy with how it turned out.
