After much hesitation, I decided to do something I really never do, write a negative review for a stylist. I hate to do this, as I don't like feeling as if I'm damaging someone's livelihood, but if it keeps someone else from going through what I'm experiencing, I think it's necessary. I was in need of a new stylist so decided to try Claudia. I wanted to do a new color, and I saw she had a positive review about that service. And she did in fact do a great job! I wanted a slightly darker color than I had, and even though I didn't have any example photos, she came up with results that I really liked. But the haircut...wow. It was the worst one I've had in many years. I have very long hair which has taken me years to grow out. I told Claudia I wanted the ends cleaned up and didn't want to lose any significant amount of length. She cut 4-5 inches, about two years of growth, off. I also told her I needed some long layers around the face, to provide framing and keep my rather coarse hair from turning into a triangular poof. She did none of this. She did do some weird thing on the ends that left me hair looking much more frizzy and frayed than normal. The hairs around the bottom are all slightly different lengths. I have no idea what the purpose of this was supposed to be, but it left my hair looking a lot worse. I lost all my hair several years ago during cancer treatment and this experience has triggered some really unhappy feelings. I know it's just hair, but I had finally gotten to the point where I had kind of a cool and unusual hair look, and now it's just a standard middle-aged mom cut, and not a very good one at that. Claudia may feel this is unfair as I didn't say anything before I left, but I was honestly in a state of shock and just wanted to get home and wash it to see if it was as bad as I suspected. I also didn't want her to do anything further. I'm going to have to let it grow for many months before I'll start looking for someone to repair the damage. read more

I am so ashamed but yet again, I have neglected to review a wonderful business right in my hometown. I've been trusting Kim with my curly hair for over a year now and she continues to do a phenomenal job with my color. She knows how to handle curly hair and because of this, Kim now has a client (whether she wants me or not, hee hee) for life. She is always upbeat and welcoming, and if you're a client you can't help but look forward to seeing her each time. Most recently I was in for my very first updo. I have to update this review and take away a star. I am still happy with my haircut that I got from Loanne in November, but when I called to make a follow-up appointment I was told that she was not available for the two Saturdays in January that I wanted to come in. I was told that I could leave my number and she would call me to "fit me in somewhere" but that seems very awkward to me and I really can't come any day but Saturday - I had talked to her about this and she said she always worked Saturdays. I was also a little disappointed and awkward feeling that when I went in to get my bang trim, there was no specific time given and I was just told to kind of come in any time, and I ended up interrupting someone else's appointment. That seemed quite awkward to me. So I will probably end up going somewhere else even though I really liked my haircut. read more

She cuts with precision and always makes sure my hair looks great at the salon and days and weeks after I see her. Over the past couple years I've been to a fancy downtown salon and then tried a place Bell Square. Salon Divine is awesome because it has a much more chill atmosphere but with stylists who have trained in the fancy salons. It's lovely to go to get your haircut and be able to have free parking right in front of the door. Aviva is awesome! She gives great cuts and colors and will make sure to give you something that will look good with your face-shape and bone structure. I'll definitely be headed back to Salon Divine! read more

I have never gotten my hair done at a salon so I was pretty scared. I looked at various Yelp posts and just decided to go to this salon. Adriana did a great job with cutting my hair and giving me a natural balayage look. It is really pricey (hair cut: $60 + partial balayage: $155 + toner: $25), and I don't think that I would ever pay that much to get my hair done again. But, if you do have the money, I would recommend to get your hair done by Adriana! I trust her and so should you. Love Kim!!! I have curly hair...she's fantastic with it. She does a great job reducing the triangling effect of a short cut. Ever since I've found her, I will not go anywhere else! She always takes the time to talk about what kind of cut I want, then we talk about how my hair curls (curlier rim around the edges, and not as curly on the crown). Sometimes she'll cut some of the longer ones dry, then washes, and finishes the job. She applies a styling creme and will set me under the dryer for a few minutes. Then we'll evaluate how my hair's curling, and do some finish trimming. The atmosphere is very laid-back and comfortable. Feels very clean as well. read more

I originally chose this salon because of it's proximity to my home, but was pleasantly surprised the first time I went and have thus been coming back ever since. I see Loanne and she is wonderful, polite and interested in you beyond your hair. She always first learns what you want/need before going to town with the scissors. I have thin hair, but a lot of it and sometimes it's hard to make it look like it's not limp and has body. I've done everything from a trim to 7 inches off and every time I've always been impressed with how natural and full my hair looks. And it still looks good even after I go home and wash/dry it, which is always the questionable challenge. The salon is clean and bright and the staff is extremely friendly. Great price too - a wash/cut/dry is only $50. What I love the most is they don't push product!!! Great place, great people and a guaranteed great hair! read more

I was visiting from out of town and was desperate need of a minor haircut and color a few weeks before I get married . There was a small part of me nervous going somewhere new but took a chance after reading all the positive reviews . I am so glad I did it . Loanne did an amazing job with my sad blah color and her attention to detail with the cut shows how much she takes her craft seriously . After the cut she did an amazing blow out and used a flat iron and I was so amazed to see my hair so shiny and stylish . My friend picked me up from the salon and kept commenting how great my cut was. She was also gracious because when I did the online booking I had accidentally booked the wrong date but when I showed up she found a way to squeeze me in later that day which I appreciate because I had a flight the next day . I live very close by to this salon and have been there twice, once to get a cut and the second time to get a cut and color (a couple highlights). The staff are very friendly and are not intimidating (like some stylists are in other salons). I got exactly what I asked for when I described what look I was going for, and the stylists gave me good suggestions. I only wish that I could remember their names! Aviva has been my stylist for a long time and will continue to be. She recently left Seven in Bellevue, they called me to offer a new haircut with a new stylist. I informed the overpriced, very loud salon that they only had my business because Aviva was there. Aviva is amazing with color, infact she taught color theory at Seven to experienced stylist at Seven. She studies you and knows what cut and style is good for you. She will be honest and let you know if what you want is not what is right. I recently went from having short spikey hair to growing it out past my shoulders and we all know that growing it out can be miserable. But because of the way Aviva does my hair I did not have that awkward stage at all. If she moved 2 hours away I would still follow her. She is the best. read more

I drive all the way from the eastside to get my feel good haircut. Loanne does an amazing job everytime. All I do is show up and tell her what I want/need and 40 minutes later, I'm happy as a clam! I've had it chemically straightened, burnt it frequently with flat and curling irons and I've agonized over how to wear it natural without looking like a frizzy animal. This was my first visit to Salon Divine, and I can assure you it will not be my last! Kim was SENSATIONAL...this is the best my hair's looked in my entire life. They do take walk-ins. Aviva cut and styled my hair and she was awesome. She is so personable and funny! Plus, she gave me an amazing head massage while she was washing my hair. What else could one ask for?! My hair looks amazing, just like the picture that I brought in and that never happens.
