I went here with my boyfriend to get his haircut and decided to get mine done too since I had been meaning to get it done! It was $10 for his and $25 for mine! Honestly not a bad price at all! She cut a bit more than what I wanted but honestly I'm happy with how it looks! It looks a lot healthier now and my boyfriend's hair looks really nice too! They even have a little guard dog at the front lol it's so small and cute! read more

I was extremely due for a hair cut. My hair is long and thick! And I needed the ends trimmed at least. I work with young kids also and my hair was getting out of control! Even though I love long hair. Well I got about 4 inches cut off and my hair looks beautiful. It was only 30 dollars. I knew if I went elsewhere near by downtown where I live I'd pay 100 or more. Plus we had company a cute doggie!! My fiancé enjoyed time with him while I was getting my hair cut!! read more

With inflation and how expensive everything else around is, this place still prides itself with $10 haircut for men. I decided to give this place a try because my usual salon in Seattle has been getting more expensive, and even after leaving a $5 tip on top for this haircut, it came to half of what I usually pay, for comparable service and quality. The only downside is that the area around is very sketchy, but I guess this is the tradeoff. A hidden gem of sorts. It is a no frills and fast service, so do not expect VIP treatment. I got the usual fade and showed a picture of roughly what I want my haircut to look like and how I expect the hair to grow, and Tom was able to execute on that in 5-10 minutes. It did not feel rushed at all - he just moves very fast and without mistakes, and he doubles check to make sure the length of the hair cut is okay for me or I want it longer or shorter. My friend said there is shampooing for a few dollars more, but I guess because it was very busy (2pm Monday), I didn't bother asking. I didn't need to wait for my turn for haircut but there were 3 people waiting when my haircut was done. Maybe if I go back and it is not busy, I will ask for that service and comment on that. Overall, I think this will be my new go-to, as it is a lot more affordable than my usual place, and the quality is pretty comparable. read more

Had my hair cut here last week! So sick of Salons that charge ridiculous prices for typically unreliable, sometimes terrible haircuts. My friend suggested we go. We both had our hair done by Tom the Male Barber. I am so happy! This is strictly a haircut establishment, no hair washing, no styling, which I also love! First time going to this local salon/barber today. They were already busy just after opening on a week day, so I knew they must be reliable and well known with their return patrons. The shop is immaculately clean. They only accept walk-ins and don't take appointments. They were so fast and efficient. I saw a lot of men getting hair cut, but I took my daughter to get new bangs. Only $7, and the stylist did a great job. We will definitely be back. read more

Cherry offers very cheap haircuts. $10 for men. (Of course most people tip) So there's always a lot of people waiting to get a haircut. This morning we looked up her hours on her website, It said she opens at nine on Saturdays, so we went early, around 8:40. Although her website says open at nine, she had crossed that out on the sign on the door and written in ten instead. The door was locked but we could see Cherry right inside giving someone a haircut. Soon 4 other people showed up with the same idea as us. Just before 9 Cherry escorted her customer out, right next to where we were standing but said nothing. She went to the back of her shop so I opened the door to ask if we could come in. She said we don't open until ten! I find it hard to believe that she would not have said something either while we were waiting outside in the chill or at least when she let the customer out. I had been coming to her for haircuts for many years. No longer. She has so many people going there for the cheap haircuts that she won't miss me, but this kind of rudeness is a dealbreaker for me. One less person to wait on. read more

Still, the best haircut place for men in north seattle. Both Cherry and the other barber are professionals, and a $10 haircut in 2020 is haircut is hard to beat. I add the $3 for the shampoo and I'm good for two months. It's worth the wait. Lots of parking on Aurora right in front. Usually no more than a 20 minute wait, and if you get there at open, right away service. read more

Parking out front (if you're lucky) but there's an extra little lot connected through the back ally way. Always scary trying a new Hair stylist but I'm glad I discovered this place. read more

This was our first time at Cherry's and I was a bit anxious. I showed Cherry a quick photo of what I thought I wanted but I actually had to explain to her that I was really trying to grow out my hair, so it wasn't exactly the same as the photo. My being anxious was unfounded, because my haircut turned out to be great! My hubby-bubby and I were in and out in a matter of 45 mins to an hour....super awesome. I've been going to Cherry hair for the past several years and they are amazing. Cherry and Tom are great people, always friendly. The one time I went somewhere else a bit closer because I've been in a hurry, I've regretted it and still deal with their screw up to this day as I'm a guy growing out his hair. I've been curious about this place for years, and finally walked in. Another reviewer said the area is "sketch" - well, it is right on Aurora. But I'll bet the commercial lease rates in this strip mall are stellar. Back to the haircut, I needed something to be done with my overgrown pandemic hair and Tom cleaned me up! I said something like - I need about 3 inches cut off, and cut some bangs please. Tom took the time, he was meticulous and for the first time ever - my bangs didn't go into shock and stick straight up after getting cut. I feel happy and tidy, and I am so glad I walked in. The cost was so fair. I will definitely be going back. I feel like I'm cheating on my other hair stylist now. read more

I have been going here for the past 5 years or so after noticing it while sitting in traffic on Aurora. This is a great place to get an inexpensive haircut. Cherry and Tom are really nice and Cherry is a budding comedian. There are times when the line is long (Saturdays and Friday/Thursday afternoons), so go here on off-peak days like Tuesday and Wednesday. read more

I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this place! Their prices are super reasonable and their price structure is based on short/long hair instead of the awful male/female prices. I was greeted immediately when I walked in and I didn't have a long wait even though there were two people in front of me. The lady who helped me did a good job and didn't do a survey of my emotional state before cutting my hair short. I'll definitely be back in the future. read more

My wife and I have been going here for 5+ years. Tom & Cherry take the extra time to get it rite! It's a shop that is old fashioned (They get to know each person) Everytime we visit Cherry's we feel clean cut and recharged! Located in a small strip mall on Aurora, Cherry Hair Design is a great place to go if you need a quick haircut for cheap price. Guy's haircuts are $12 and you can be in and out in about 20 minutes if there's no line. The salon isn't pretty but they get the job done right. Cherry gives a great haircut and she's full of personality. The other stylist (can't remember his name) is also skilled and I'm always happy with my haircut. read more

I got my hair cut by one of the male employees today here at Cherry's Hair Design. Cherry was with a customer and there was another person ahead of me when I arrived. 10 minutes later, I was next in line and the male employee arrived to cut my hair. I told him what I wanted and he understood. About 20 minutes later my haircut was complete. And it looks pretty great too! $10 for a great haircut and not having to wait very long; I'm sold. I would aim for a weekday, since it is walk-in only. read more

Super speedy and super inexpensive ($15), but don't expect an amazing haircut. I've been here twice and neither time did I get what I asked for and expected. Tom was my stylist both times. I came in with photos of what I wanted each time, but it ended up an "along those lines" type effort. At the speed it went, there's no way you can say "wait, that's shorter than I wanted" before it's too late. The hair that wasn't cut quite right, but was long enough, wasn't quite right even after I explained again what it should look like and a second attempt was made. In the end, if you're looking for short and simple, this is the place for you, no doubt! But if you're interested in a bit more involved, look elsewhere. read more

I was very clear before starting that the last time her twin colored my hair, I liked the shade and wanted it lighter or the same -- absolutely not darker. At the salon, when my hair was washed, I asked her if it looked dark. She said it was totally fine. I assumed the salon lighting or my eyesight might be misleading me. I didn't even ask for a blow-dry -- just a simple curl product -- but she spent less than a minute on it, which felt careless. Another red flag was that I asked her to color my eyebrows, yet at the end I noticed multiple color stains left on my face. She didn't mention them; I had to point them out myself and remove them. At the time, these issues were frustrating but manageable. The real problem became clear after I got home and washed my hair several times. My hair color is much darker than requested, and it's obvious the color was ruined. Looking back, I now believe she noticed the darkening issue but didn't acknowledge it. Fixing hair that's been colored too dark is not easy, and now I'm left dealing with the consequences of her mistake. Overall, this was a careless and unprofessional experience, and I would not recommend her for hair coloring.

She…read morehad me wait in the chair by the door and as soon as she was finished, took me over to the shampoo bed to wash my hair (a literal bed!). It was a very thorough wash with a scalp massage. After asking for an inspo photo and briefly discussing my desired cut she began by sectioning and drying my hair. She was fast with the cut and talked me through styling at the end. I left with a updated look and I'm pleased! FYI - There's paid street parking all around but it was pretty busy so it took a moment to find a spot.

I just got the best cut I've had in years and I also enjoyed talking with April. She an excellent conversationalist as she goes about her work. She is sincerely interested in what you say. Be sure to ask her about herself too, you will find that she's an interesting and multi-talented lady. I wish I could give her more stars than just five.

Here is why I love having her do my hair: She is…read morereally in touch with trends, but is super creative and loves to work in a unique twist, that is inspired by my personal style. :) Color - Last time I was in, we worked with the ombre trend, but she added a few blonde and red pieces that went all the way to my root, with some fire-y red ombre style chunks all over and little peeks of black. Also, the color is a-symmetrical, one side has more blonde, and the other, more red. Turned out so cool! The cut - usually, I think my hair looks better worn up, but since Amy has been cutting it, I love wearing it down. Finally, she is so friendly and a joy to chat with. Amy has been doing my hair for awhile, but she just started at Kitty Hawk. What a cool space, easy to find, easy free parking and the shop is really cute and clean! Get your buns in Amy's chair! :)
