I had an amazing experience at Vann Studio Salon with Earl! I haven't colored my hair in 15 years, so I was pretty nervous, but she made me feel completely comfortable from the start. She explained everything step-by-step throughout the process, which I really appreciated. I came in with a Groupon for a cut and balayage, and will absolutely be back off Groupon. The vibe in the salon is fantastic -- super welcoming with great attitudes all around. And best of all... I absolutely LOVE my hair! Earl exceeded my expectations. I even got to chat with owner Lisa, who was styling someone next to me. You can tell she knows her craft very well and is also educating the stylists. Highly recommend!

I made a color retouch appt to cover the grey hair. I took this picture two days after my appt, lots of grey hair.

I have been to this salon multiple times. The service is good if they are not busy. If I go there during weekends, it could be off. My overall rating is 3 stars. My last appointment was with Mariah on a Saturday for a color retouch. It was an disappointment. She was behind her schedule and started my appt 15mins after the scheduled time. While she applied the dye, she chatted with other people and seemed distracted from the conversations. I was a bit surprised that she was behind the schedule and was still quite causal chatting around. I have been coloring my hair by professionals or by myself regularly for a long time. I can't see exactly how she did it, but I noticed she didn't divide my hair into that many sections. She applied the back of my color quickly. I always thought a color retouch appt service comes with a blow dry styling service. If I make an appt with a master stylist, the blow dry styling service will be done by a master stylist. It maybe a wrong expectation at Vann. After my hair was washed, Mariah blow-dried my hair along with her assistant because she was busy and had to fasten the progress. The pic was taken 2 days after the color retouch appt, lots of grey hair in the back. The appt was $160.

I went in just wanting a quick trim to clean up my bob -- nothing drastic. I even explained that my hair already had layers from a previous cut (different place), but all I wanted was to even everything out a bit so it looks smooth when I straighten it. My hair was shoulder-length, and the stylist and I agreed it'd be best to keep the length and only take off a little to play it safe. But when she finished and straightened it, my hair was so much shorter than I expected. Definitely not what I asked for. She mentioned afterward that it ended up being a "corrective haircut," but that's not what I came in for at all. I was totally fine with the layers -- they would've grown out on their own. I just wanted an even, clean look, not a whole new length. I was too shy to even say anything thinking it wasn't that bad but after getting home and taking a second look, I can't believe how short it is, it looks sooo bad on me!!! To make things worse, I had added a deep conditioning treatment through the app because someone from the salon told me it was discounted... but I never got it. The stylist apologized for the rushed appointment, but honestly, that didn't make up for the experience. I'd seen Hatsumi before and had a great time, but this time I tried Shanna, and I walked out really upset. I'm not discrediting her knowledge, but this is not the haircut I wanted. I ended up paying $85 for a cut I didn't want, and now my hair's too short for my event on Friday. I'm really disappointed and don't think I'll be coming back. Added photos fore reference

I am not kidding when I say I had been looking for somewhere to fulfill some hair dreams and goals for well over a year since moving to Seattle. Well, friends, look no further than Ava (or I imagine any of their wonderfully talented coworkers, too) at Vann Studio!!! The vibes were wonderful, I enjoyed that Ava did a consult at the beginning to make sure we were on the same page (and both excited about it!!!) and it came out better than I ever even dreamed it would. Such a great spot (in a convenient downtown location) to support up and coming beauty professionals, as well as established experts. If you have curly hair and/or bold hair dreams or are looking for product recommendations or just want to leave a salon feeling beautiful, you're in good hands with Ava and Vann Studio

Disco hair of my dreams! Jess absolutely rocked it! Jess has helped me with event styling hair for three years now and always gives me the confidence boost needed and exactly what I requested. All of their staff are welcoming and make you feel at home!

I love Vann studio and have been back time and time again!! They have an awesome July gift card special going on, and so long as you buy the gift card at least a day in advance, you can get upwards of $50+ in credit for free! This time, I had L'Treyl as a stylist!! L'Treyl was EVERYTHING as a stylist!! They listened to my wants, provided me with options, asked for clarification, paid attention to small details I mentioned, and made my hair 100000x better than it was before and somehow made my hair not only what I wanted, but somehow better than what I wanted?? On top of all of that, they were freaking HILARIOUS and I had so much fun spending the better part of three hours gabbing with them about everything from life goals to the life changing elements of Jersey Shore (who wrote the note????). L'treyl did a partial balayage on my already partially pre-bleached Asian hair and helped me go from a partial looking blonde/grown out black to a blended ashy-mushroom black/brown. They also gave me a haircut to give my usually flat and blunt hair some more volume and shape and they were so reassuring during the whole process ("this might feel scary but I promise you it will be ok" *insert precision hair chopping*). They were very knowledgeable about the products, techniques, and gave me tips and tricks while also being very realistic with me (since I don't usually use a ton of hair products, they would show me the products they used on my hair but also told me if I'm not realistically going to use them, no sense in forcing myself to use them). Before booking, I messaged L'treyl on Instagram to make sure my existing hair and hair goals were feasible, so I highly recommend reaching out beforehand to make sure you feel comfortable meeting your hair goals! I would absolutely recommend L'treyl as a stylist - they are absolutely lovely, talented, and I would definitely go see them again to get my hair done!!

What a wonderful experience! Being from out of town it's always worrisome to try and find a good hairstylist and salon. The reviews were great so why not try it? The front desk created me promptly then while I was waiting for my service provider because I was just a walk-in, she gave me a tour. The atmosphere decor and ambience was very inviting Friendly and all around awesome. My stylist Antonio listened, was professional present, and he did a fantastic job.

Melissa G was my aesthetician and the appointment started off great, although she didn't ask me how I like my brows done before starting, which is unusual. However, after 45 minutes or so I noticed she wasn't changing her gloves and they were getting really sticky with wax residue, so every time she'd touch me I'd get stickier too - the paper cover on the table underneath me was starting to come off stuck to me in shreds. After she adjusted the position of the wax table, including unplugging and replugging the wax warmer cord with her gloves still on, I politely asked her if she could change her gloves before continuing, and she said sure, she would if she *had* some (?!?!). Guess what, friends - there was only one more glove in the whole store in her size, and all the others were much much too small to fit her. I'm not sure how gloves don't get routinely restocked in a waxing salon, and I'm not sure how Melissa thought it would be ok to perform a nearly full-body wax appointment with one and a half pairs of gloves, when typically in my experience gloves get changed pretty often during a wax -- if she had welcomed me to my appointment and said, I'm so sorry, I realized I'm out of gloves, do you mind waiting 10 minutes while I run to the Bartell's LESS THAN TWO BLOCKS AWAY and grab a box, I would have been happy to wait AND would have been grateful for the emphasis on hygiene practices. I don't even want to think about the germs that got cross-contaminated onto my raw exfoliated skin from that one pair of gloves touching everything in the room. Never again will I book here.

After my last review I received emails from Ceanna accusing me that I am trying to hurt the company…read morewith my negative review and also threatening me to inform the community, I don't know which community she was talking about. She also asked me to REMOVE my review. And all this happened from 3.30 AM to 5 AM, yes early morning 3.30, the same person who didn't have time earlier to reply to my emails in the daytime. And when I told her that it's surprising that she had the time to send emails at 3.30 AM, she said that she can email at any hour suitable to her. Really? No, you cannot do that, you cannot disturb someone at 3.30 am. I couldn't sleep at all that night and it was really a horrible experience for me and I wish no one goes through something like this, that too just for a facial. Taylor Preston, the owner of Estrella Salon contacted me the next day, I had got waxing done from her in November 2014. Taylor apologized after reading Ceanna's emails and offered to give me a facial with 50% discount. You can read the whole thing below: According to Ceanna, my cancellations have interrupted her ongoing clients, but I don't know how she is accusing me for the July cancellation when she herself was not in Seattle from June to August 17th. And if she was busy she could have told me the very first day that she cannot accept new clients. She said just because she cancelled on me I shouldn't have taken it so personally and acted upon something so minor. And it doesn't warrant my emotional reactions to lash out at her business even if I got to know about the cancellation only after I inquired about my appointment. "Being informed is being informed", these were her words, and because I never received any service from her I can't write about my experience. So, in short a customer cannot be busy because they don't have any other work in their life other than getting a facial and they can't write about an experience before the actual service. She also told me that since she had OFFERED me a recommendation even when she has never met me so it was EXCELLENT customer service, yes she wrote those words in UPPER CASE. And that I never responded to this offer and that she can no longer offer me that recommendation. I mean, really? After living in Seattle for a year does anybody need recommendations? Her language clearly shows that she felt she was doing me a big favor with the RECOMMENDATION and that without her recommendation I can't find another esthetician. I felt like laughing because I have already received facials from 3 different estheticians in Seattle and they are all awesome, but I wanted something in walking distance from my apartment so I contacted her but now I really regret it. I really couldn't believe that I received emails with such language and few words in UPPER CASE and that too between 3.30 AM-5.30 AM. Are customers so unimportant that they should be obliged or scared to write about their negative experience?? This whole thing could have been handled maturely, rather than accusing and threatening a customer.

The locker room was spacious with a sauna, two huge showers, two toilets, and a changing area with lockers. some toiletries were provided as well. I appreciated that the lockers had a keypad so I didn't have to carry around a key. You can change in the changing area, but if you want more privacy, you are encouraged to go behind the door of the shower, where there's plenty of room to change. The sauna was nice and hot. Loved it. We both opted for the Om package which included a facial and a massage with one enhancement of choice. I have to say, the massage tables here are the most comfortable ones I've ever experienced. They are heated for your comfort, although they can turn off the heat if you run hot. My massage with Allison was lovely and super relaxing. Afterwards, I was brought back to the lounge area where I met up with my friend again and waited for my facial.
