Im from a small town and hoped to find a hairstylist that would not disappoint. I googled, read reviews, and I knew pricing was going to be alot. So looking for a stylist/hair salon already expecting to pay a lot, I spent two days really researching. Going to the salon itself, it's very nice. Everyone was friendly, smiling offering drinks like water, tea, and coffee. I'm an introvert so I'm closed off and shy and tend to observe until I am confident and comfortable. The salon was very inviting, it made it easy for me to approach. Pros: Lilly squeezed me into her schedule on short notice(: She seemed really into making sure she did a good job, talking me through what she was doing. Taking care not to fry my hair and informing me a few times that because of how dark my hair is, I would need to bleach my hair another few times to achieve the light color I would like... this I do know, but with sitting for 40-50 minutes, 15-20 mins under the hair dryer I had hoped for more of a lighter color. Cons: My hair looks chocolate brown. Not what I wanted. I've had my hair bleached before and had gotten a much lighter color close to a gold so the chocolate brown is disappointing me. When layering my hair I asked her if she could do a "V" in the back for my layered hair, I don't think she understood or heard me?... the layers I got aren't the layers I wanted, I expected more than just one layer?... though I also did not show her reference photos, so that's on me. Not her. The layers are a little more blunt than blended and I honestly feel like I may just need to see another hairstylist who can fix this for me... She did try and make conversation but her conversation was definitely close ended. Again, I'm quiet until I get comfortable but i definitely did not feel like she wanted to hold a conversation with me even though she made many attempts. I believe the words "she tried" sums up my experience... I paid $250 for this result.... I'm just let down. read more

I've been seeing Hillary at Salon Divas for a few years now. I started when I was priced out of GMS. Hillary does a fantastic job every time. She has color DIALED IN - I always get compliments! And she gives me a hairstyle that goes with my lifestyle, which is to say she makes me look good without it taking me a lot of time. The salon itself is adorable. Parking is only on the street, so it can be a little tough sometimes, but it's totally worth it. Hillary is totally worth it. read more

Being a transplant and in a desperate need to find a quick place for a good Brazilian wax that was walking distance from Downtown Seattle led me to find Pam! I found her through Groupon and she was fantastic to work with! My tolerance for pain is not that great. And because of that, I need a waxer that is not only thorough but is also GENTLE when applying and removing the wax off their client's lady parts. Pam is definitely very gentle and very thorough! She's not rough and did not make me feel uncomfortable during the waxing session. FYI - She uses hard and soft wax and I personally have always preferred hard wax because I think it hurts the least but Pam was able to show me that soft wax can also be not as painful! She said it's based upon the waxer's technique. I highly recommend coming here for your waxing needs! read more

I was standing outside of the building underneath a canopy to shield myself from the rain as I looked up bus directions on my phone. They came out and gave me a hard time for standing on the sidewalk outside of their building. They asked for me to leave. Uhm, NO! It's a public sidewalk! The person was very condescending and rude. I'm so thankful I found this gem! I called last minute to see if they had any openings on a Saturday or Sunday and was able to squeeze in for a 4pm spot with Jon! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with kindness and offered a salon robe and a drink. Moments after the clock struck 4, Jon came out to greet me and take me to a corner spot to assess what he'd be getting himself into with this mystery appointment - I asked for a trim, layers and face framing. He gave me an amazing shampoo and scalp massage and walked me back to work his magic. We hit it off - laughing and chatting it up, pausing for a moment to watch Halsey play "Running Up That Hill" at the Hollywood Bowl on YouTube (it came up in convo!) Jon felt inspired to go above and beyond the normal blow out, using heat rollers to have me walking out feeling like a total glamazon! I feel like a different woman in all the best ways! I booked an appointment with Marquetta for a Sunday morning. I was grateful I could find a hair stylist that could work with my type of hair on a weekend. While waiting for my appointment, Marquetta was helping another customer she had just finished and was recommending different products for maintenance to the girl and her mother. She is very knowledgeable! She advised me on what I should do in regards to a future hair cut for my curly hair. Marquetta is friendly and upbeat. Also, I feel like her pricing is fair. :) read more

I've never had a 'regular' salon in all my years at my last city...whenever I needed a cut and color I would wait to go home to San Gabriel to see my fave hairstylist. But, after three visits to Salon Divas, I can confidently say I've found my go-to salon in Seattle. It also doesn't hurt that it's literally right below my place. The salon is on the corner of 4th Avenue and Vine, and easily accessible via a lot of the buses that run on 3rd Ave. There's only street parking, which isn't that hard to find most of the time. None of this matter much to me (read: I live upstairs) but, you know, full service Yelp review here. It's pretty easy to make appointments, and they send you e-mail reminders which is nice. I've gotten a lovely haircut from Jon, and he was extremely nice in applying some red color conditioner to my hair after I lamented at the time that my rose gold hair color was fading fast. The last few visits I've gotten my hair colored and cut by Hillary. Now I don't want to sound dramatic, but I will follow her to the ends of the earth to get my hair colored from now on. She just gets it, you know what I mean? What I appreciate about Hillary is that she takes the time to explain how different products and colors work, what it would take to get and maintain the colors that I think I want, and then come up with a solution that works perfectly for me. For example, I don't want to bleach my hair any more, and she explained that for me to achieve a shade I thought I wanted she'd have to go in and bleach my hair again, so we opted for something that would require less harsh treatments, and I couldn't be happier with the results. In my line of work it's important to stay current and Lisa has consistently gone the extra mile to make sure that I'm looking professional and confident. We roll with an "edgy" styling, age appropriate and always low maintenance. She's generous with the How To lessons on the products and the styling techniques needed to replicate that "Just got my hair done." look. My cut lasts 10 weeks with never an awkward grow out phase. Although they don't normally charge for bang trim service (because they are complimentary with a haircut,) they were willing to accommodate me. The stylist I had was super nice and did a great job! Apparently Salon Divas tried to have Yelp remove my original review where I have taken pictures of the damage they have done to my hair. Yelp has emailed me about their request to remove my review. What a horrible business to go around a customer to have a review removed! Stay away from this salon if you want your hair to be healthy. They should have refunded my charges as I have already spent triple the price trying to repair one bad hair stylists over processing and hair cut removing a chunk of hair in the back. read more

I've never been in a salon with such a great vibe. I love the way everyone is friendly and so clearly likes one another in this salon. It's an easy, fun place to spend an hour or two getting pretty. Marquetta did a great keratin treatment on my hair for the first time today. My hair was a wreck, because after losing another stylist I loved, I moped around letting my hair do its own thing. I finally cracked and found Marquetta here on Yelp, to put myself together for an event I'm helping to organize. I loved her unfazed attitude about both the state of my hair (which was beyond yikes, and well into yick) and the fact that I brought in my own product. There's only one product that works to get my hair straight and shiny, and when I saw it on Amazon I grabbed it. Her salon didn't carry it, so she told me no problem, bring it in! I walked out 2 hours later looking civilized again. She says she'll stock the stuff I use for me next time, and it sounds like she may even give it a try herself. Great place! read more

I've been going to see Jenny at Salon Divas for over 10 years. She's the best, I haven't been able to find another stylist that gives me a great cut - I have very thick straight hair. All other stylists i've seen either layer too much add more bulk to my cut, use hair sprays that make my hair sticky, try to change my part in ways that is not natural. I couldn't find someone as good as Jenny even when I left Seattle. She's a great stylist, takes time to understand you and what you are looking for and recommends the right cut for you. For a very reasonable travel charge she will come to wherever the venue is. In our case, it was a hotel in downtown Seattle. She did updos for myself and my two fellow bridesmaids. She was on time, very pleasant and personable, and most importantly she listened to what we wanted and took her time executing our requests.
