Balayage by Jenna

I've been seeing Jenna for my balayage for the past two years, and every visit is truly a treat. I have naturally dark hair, which can easily turn brassy with color, but Jenna's technique is flawless. My color always comes out rich, dimensional, and beautifully blended. She has an incredible eye for what works best for my hair, whether it's color, cut, or style, and I trust her completely. On top of that, the salon is always such a fun, welcoming space with great conversation. I can't recommend Jenna highly enough. She's simply the best!!!!!

I've never felt so safe with a hairstylist as I do with Blair. Not only does she have the talent at nailing my Hair color every time the way she listens and educates me on what colors that would complement me the most makes me trust her 100% The fact that she is not only great at color cutting she also shows how much she cares about me too! Our conversation makes the time fly so funny and always honest with great advice! I always leave feeling great inside and out!!! You have a client for life your stuck with me!

Tupper listened to my needs and explained the best way to achieve my goal within a reasonable price range. My hair looks great! I've never been more satisfied and highly recommend.

My glowy blonde hair on my wedding day - thanks, Nina!

I spent several obsessive weeks scouring Yelp for a Seattle hair stylist to brighten up my hair before my wedding day and am SO happy I found Nina! My hair is naturally blonde, but had gotten quite dark and blah during shelter-in-place and I wanted to look my best for my wedding. Even though Nina is hard to book with due to her popularity, by some miracle I was able to slide in to a sudden cancellation. (Hint- for new clients, send her an email first with a photo of your hair and some words about what look you are hoping for; then book through their website). At the appointment, Nina took extra time to discuss my desired look, and explained her plan for the process and timeline for the day. I could tell that she was thoughtful and careful about her placement throughout the appointment - truly an artist who appreciates her craft. She was also a blast to talk to! When we dried my hair and turned the chair, my jaw dropped. I was suddenly a blonde bombshell! Pure magic. And my hair absolutely glowed on my wedding day this past weekend. Thanks, Nina!

I went in for a balayage and left with my hair absolutely fried. I had to chop it all off it was so damaged. So so sad and disappointing.

What my mom asked for. Her hair is already a darker blonde w/ some lowlights. Blair claims she cannot achieve this look.

NEW CLIENTS BEWARE!!! Save your money and do NOT come to this joke of a salon. Wish I could give zero stars for such a ridiculous experience. For Mother's Day, I scheduled my mom a hair appointment and prepaid for part of her service. (Thought it was extremely odd that the salon does not have gift cards.) She was so excited to get a foilyage and try a new salon! I specifically scheduled my mom with Blair because she is the owner of the salon and thus we expected her to have a lot of experience. When my mom showed up, she simply asked to have her already blonde hair brightened up a bit, like the attached picture. The owner of the salon went back to "mix the color" and came back 20 mins later nearly in tears, only to tell my mom she was unable to do the service...... she said she "wasn't the right stylist." Blair sent my mom away, which made her feel embarrassed and upset. She left questioning herself and her hair and feeling extremely confused. Your salon is literally named Blonde and Gold, yet you can't achieve a blonde look on someone who's already blonde???? I really don't understand. According to Blair, she only "does one direction for foils and didn't understand the current pattern in my moms hair." Unbelievable and so ridiculous. My mom waited for a month for this appointment, drove over an hour to get to this appointment, and was prepared to pay for a $450 service. I'm extremely angry as this was my Mother's Day gift to her, and a total fail. I feel really bad, and 100% regret sending her here. I live locally, just a couple blocks from the salon, and I will be telling EVERYONE in the neighborhood about this experience and to avoid your salon at all costs.

I mean- the blonde literally glows!

Tupper is amazing! I am so glad I found him. I went to the same stylist for balayage for years, so when he retired I was 't sure where to go. I had, had some bad color experiences in the past, before I found my main person so I was nervous. I found Tupper and we went for it and OH MY GOD I loved my hair. He us magical. He did my color for my wedding and very recently leveled up my blonde. He also gave me bangs - like realllllllly good bangs, which anyone who has ever had bangs knows is a a miracle. And it was honestly like the most effortless, boop! voila! magical bangs in .01 seconds thing. I'm convinced he is a genius. So, I honestly don't know what you are doing if you are not going to him to get your hair done. Dump your stylist and get in his calendar.

Inspo photo shown to Blair at every appt.

Do Not Come Here-- Terrible First, if you go through the reviews, you'll see that the majority of them are from when the prior owner of this salon was here. That explains why the salon has a higher rating-- They should be deleted because they are misleading. Read the recent reviews and you'll see they aren't good. I came in to get my roots done and my highlights refreshed from a year ago. I told her I wanted to do the same thing she did last time only to leave more grow out and had to show her the same photo I did a year prior because she responded coldly, "Well I don't know what we did." That was the first red flag. She then put dye on my roots and left it on for 2 HOURS. Second red flag. I kept watching the time because it started to sting and I've never ever had dye left on my scalp for longer than 30-40 min before. Isn't that Hair 101? When I was at the sink, I saw the toner in the bottle that was in her hand and it was pink which was concerning because I was clear I wanted a cool toned blonde like we did last time and we had gone over the fact we were COUNTERACTING brassiness and warmth because I'm a natural brunette, not adding... Then, after blatantly just ignoring my request if she could use styling mousse, she hurried through a blow dry and I was rushed out. I left a 25% tip anyways (huge mistake) and over $400 later got into my car when I saw my hair. I had pitch black roots with an orange, brassy line of highlights that resembled an all over box-dye hair job. I couldn't believe she let me leave the salon like that. And if her blatant coldness was because she saw how my hair turned out, that's when you're honest and level with your client and let them know instead of trying to rush them out of your salon. My hair was fried, my roots were black, highlights were orange, and because of the dye she left on my scalp for 2 hours, there were a lot of areas where the hair was literally singed from my scalp. Later, I sent her a dm with the photos I'm posting here asking if she could fix it. We set a date where she then cancelled 2 hours before I was supposed to be there saying she's "running behind," I finally got in the following week. I showed her the same inspo photo from before, and left with even brassier, dull, hair color with the same black roots as I had before. SHE RUINED MY HAIR. As others have said, she's not friendly, has an attitude, and is too busy gossiping with her friend talking negatively about other friends the entire time it's clear she could care less about you and your hair and just isn't a good person. After this entire experience I would only ever recommend that someone AVOID THIS PLACE. I paid over $400 to leave with hair that looks like an amateur did it and the highlights I had prior are completely gone. I regret ever coming back. I think the photos speak for themselves.

Making the appointment through Vagaro was easy, walked me through a thorough intake form, and allowed me to choose my esthetician. I went with Allegra who was a darling from the minute I stepped into Dermaspace. Any worries or fears quickly drifted off given the dim lighting, chill music and zen ambiance. Allegra had a sweet personality, explained the entire process from start to finish, was knowledgeable about anything related to skincare and health, and most importantly, gentle. The facial was around an hour and fifteen minutes, including a discussion of my skin concerns, allergies, goals, etc. It consisted of roughly four total steps: 1) Gentle facial cleansing and exfoliation 2) Moisturization and detoxification using yucca soaked cloth within a volcanic heated cone 3) Deep cleaning of my entire face, clearing out any and all clogged pores 4) Ionization facial wrap of nourishing cotton with a leather mask connected to low voltage electrical current in order to ionize the solution. Afterwards, my face felt completely refreshed and as if years were taken off. There is a reason it has won the best facial in Seattle/PNW for many years--the treatment is truly results driven and very effective. I plan to be back soon.

I'm in the skincare business and refer my clients to a small handful of doctors and surgeons based on specific skin conditions and needs. So, when my sister-in-law announced that she was "ready" to have her mole removed, I suggested Dr. AJ Amadi. Dr. Amadi has just opened a practice on Queen Anne hill but has been practicing in Bellevue for years. Long story short: Dr. Amadi and his warm and caring staff were so good to my very nervous sister-in-law. The spot where the mole was removed is healing nicely and she is very happy with the treatment and outcome of the surgery. As a side note: This clinic does Botox and Fillers too. At 45, I finally understand the importance of using the highest quality products and going to the…read moreright person for my skincare on a regular basis. At Jil Bucy, I have found wonderful service, genuine care, and knowledgable expertise from an inspiring woman, at a lovely spot. The service: Svetlana, the owner of Jill Bucy provides impeccable service with graciousness and sensitivity. I have very fair "Irish" skin so I typically let Svetlana access what my skin needs and then I let her do her magic. After receiving her facials my skin looks plumper, radiant, and healthy. Often my treatment consists of a two fold process first she uses a state of the art machine that helps promote collagen generation and tightens my skin. The second part is usually a facial and steam with high anti-oxidents such as vitamans A and E. This is NOT your typical "vacation facial" where a girl plops a bunch of product on your face gives you a scalp massage and then washes it off. This is serious skin care with visible results. She is generous with a sample or two so I can try out a product before investing. I now use 4 of BR products daily. Svetlana genuinely cares about my skin. She has even followed up with a phone call and texts after a pca peal to remind me to wear sun screen, drink water and see if the peal finished and how my skin felt and looked. The Place: The boutique is a lovely little spot in the MarQueen Hotel. The entire experience is easy, enjoyable, and exclusive, ( but not snooty). I pull up to the valet and he parks my car at no charge. I walk through the historic hotel lobby to the spa and enter into a quiet, friendly space which has a subtle parisian flare. The reception room is pretty and there is always a little dish of chocolates on the table, as well as teas or water waiting for me. Most of the time, I am the only client in the entire spa, other than the receptionist and the owner. On occasion, she may be finishing with another client in a separate room which is separated by large white paneled pocket doors. During my treatment the room is dimly lit with a pretty blue beaded chandelier and soft, soothing music never overpowers the space. I won't go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my facials in Seattle! :)

She said she could not do that, the system "wasn't set up that way" and I just had to pay and then see the receipt afterwards. I paid, then sure enough saw she added a $50 "consultation fee" just to buy product. It would be another thing if a consultation took place or even the fee disclosed; but for me to come and spend over $1,500 on product then have have a $50 surcharge snuck in for the "privilege" of shopping there is simply deceptive. Go to Penelope Beauty Bar at the Fairmont to buy the same BR products for the same price, and not feel like you're being taken for a ride. I know the economic environment is understandably causing hardship. I am more than happy to continue to support local business, just be up front about your fees instead of playing coy with hidden charges. Edit: They followed up and refunded the fee, saying it was charged in error. I appreciated the gesture.
