Melissa G was my aesthetician and the appointment started off great, although she didn't ask me how I like my brows done before starting, which is unusual. However, after 45 minutes or so I noticed she wasn't changing her gloves and they were getting really sticky with wax residue, so every time she'd touch me I'd get stickier too - the paper cover on the table underneath me was starting to come off stuck to me in shreds. After she adjusted the position of the wax table, including unplugging and replugging the wax warmer cord with her gloves still on, I politely asked her if she could change her gloves before continuing, and she said sure, she would if she *had* some (?!?!). Guess what, friends - there was only one more glove in the whole store in her size, and all the others were much much too small to fit her. I'm not sure how gloves don't get routinely restocked in a waxing salon, and I'm not sure how Melissa thought it would be ok to perform a nearly full-body wax appointment with one and a half pairs of gloves, when typically in my experience gloves get changed pretty often during a wax -- if she had welcomed me to my appointment and said, I'm so sorry, I realized I'm out of gloves, do you mind waiting 10 minutes while I run to the Bartell's LESS THAN TWO BLOCKS AWAY and grab a box, I would have been happy to wait AND would have been grateful for the emphasis on hygiene practices. I don't even want to think about the germs that got cross-contaminated onto my raw exfoliated skin from that one pair of gloves touching everything in the room. Never again will I book here.

I have had multiple services done here, and they've all been wonderful. Let's face it, Brazilian waxes are no picnic, and if done by the wrong hands, they can be nothing short of torture. I've had them done by three different aestheticians here, and they all took such great care, were sensitive to my utter terror, and managed to make the experience as close to wonderful as humanly possible! The products they use for their facials, by Eminence, are truly divine! I'm very sensitive about my eyebrows-they're full, and I like to keep them that way. Mari is so particular about how she does them, I may never go to anyone else again. Whether it's the friendly and careful service, the calming and elegant atmosphere, or the fantastic products and location, Luscious Skin Spa is truly a gem. read more

I had a Groupon for a Brazilian Wax and this was one of the first times I went somewhere off of a Groupon where I wasn't treated like crap because I was using a groupon. Rachel, the esthetician, was incredibly sweet and helpful... asking questions about what I needed as a client to feel more comfortable and to get through this traditionally painful experience. They use both hard wax and strip wax but were kind to accomodate and only use hard wax because I asked. The whole experience was 30 minutes and they offered a maintenance discount if I booked that day. Like the previous reviewer, I have DEFINITELY found my waxing home in Seattle. read more

I have had several facials at Luscious. Each and every time I come out looking like I just had an extra 10 hours of sleep. I'm glowing; my skin is clear; I'm completely relaxed. Mollie did my most recent facial. Her extraction technique was painless yet effective. I can't say enough good things. The products they use here are so good you'll want to buy every one. In the days following the treatment, my skin became significantly inflamed and I developed a large amount of acne/breakouts that I did not have immediately beforehand. I understand that skin can occasionally react after a facial, but the amount of inflammation and breakout I experienced afterward was very concerning to me and made me question whether the treatment and precautions taken were appropriate for my skin. Instead, I was left with uneven lashes and skin that looked considerably worse several days after the facial.
