I really liked this place for beer drinking. They have at least 50 taps and many more bottle options. The bartender said the margarita flat bread was excellent as well as loaded tots. I went to this place after work on a Tuesday with a friend of mine. She was ranting and raving about how good the food was (when she visited, it was a weekend evening and she was drinking... important to the story lol). We went, and the restaurant was relatively empty. We ordered 2 appetizers a piece (as they were $5/each for happy hour or something to the like. Overall, the food definitely left much to be desired... The service was pretty good - well at least our server was. Again it was very slow there, so I would expect the food to be quick and hot, which it was. Overall, me personally, I wouldn't go again (I don't drink beer, or really any other alcoholic beverages). So for me, I could go somewhere else with good food - make sense? read more

During my stay in Augusta, I would pass by this place on my commute as part of my employment for the tournament. My temporary residence was unfortunately not equipped with wifi so I was forced to find a solution to getting some computer work completed. Fortunately, WOB was not only local, but extremely accommodating. I was allowed to sit for an extended time at a booth, and work on my computer for my main job. Shannon was my server, and was absolutely fantastic. She was very nice and attentive. The beer selection was good, as shannon and another staff member recommended a few selections. The food wasn't bad. Typical bar food, nothing mind blowing, but flavor was good, and portions were exceptional. Just got back from a Central European beer tour and the selections here are great fun. Beer and pretzels. Need I say more? I love the stone ground mustard that comes with the pretzel. I feel like I've never had great service here, but the atmosphere encourages conversation, the food is good, and they always have beer that I'll actually drink. I'll start by saying the hostess was standing on her phone texting while we were just standing there waiting for her to FINISH her text to say something to us. She wasn't very pleasant. Our server didn't smile once, didn't ask how we were doing, didn't seem interested in being there. I understand it was busy, but work is still work. I really wanted to like this place. Came here with a group for a year end celebration. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip which came with little pieces of bread. Tasted fine but I did notice the artichokes were a bit crunchy which was unusual. Get home and feel sick. Am sick and literally spit up food and...little plastic wrapper pieces. Seriously? Came here last night for dinner, just me and the man. We ended up enjoying ourselves immensely even though I was worried it wouldn't work as well with just two people. We ordered the giant pretzel to share, with the beer cheese, and ended up devouring it. For his meal he got the steak frites, and I had the hummus appetizer as my entree, with a side of apple kale slaw. The food was really good. I didn't expect it to be that good, honestly. The portions were pretty decent; but we don't eat that much (especially after eating giant pretzels). I was a bit disappointed that the $2.5 slaw side was the size of a tiny condiment cup. It tasted good but I probably wouldn't order it again given the size/price. Drinks: I ended up just getting two flights instead of a larger beer. This was an awesome choice--I like to sample. Husband got a cider and liked it (he was driving so he didn't want to drink much). Overall we really enjoyed ourselves. Service was great. The hostess, Precious, was very friendly and after seeing a hair on the table we sat at, went out of her way and got a cloth to clean it up herself. Our server, Bridget, was great. Horrible! By no means was it the food or the establishment, it was the waiter, Mason! He not only added one, but three additional charges to my bill. Total of extra charges he "mistakenly" applied to the bill $10.00! Each time he tried to act like he wasn't aware. Any diligent individual serving customers would say to themselves, "ok, the bill was wrong twice, let me make sure I've got it right". Nope. Why? It was most definitely intentional. His passiveness suggests this is a regular practice and I just happened to be one of few customers who caught on. I've visited WOB many times in the past in Augusta and other states as well. Love it! But, this was by far the most dishonest practice to either render a higher tip or simply not care. Augusta WOB customers, double check your bill. $10 extra dollars per customer adds up, plus the additional tip. read more

Went here with my boyfriend and was excited to try a place we hadn't been to around the area. Neither of us were super hungry, so we wanted to split an order of the steak frites (which is something we have split and loved at other restaurants in the past). I really wish I took a picture, because there were probably 4 pieces of cut steak on the plate (maybe a half an inch thick and 3 inches wide), less than 10 pieces of broccoli, and maybe 15 fries. I see on here that other people have gotten entire steaks with their order.. so I'm not sure what is up with that.. did they want us to order more since we were splitting an entree? Maybe. Well we obviously were still hungry and did order a flatbread to split- the bbq chicken- which was a decent size, but drenched in bbq sauce. I had two moscow mules that were strong (thank goodness) and my bf had a couple beers he was indifferent about. Service was alright too. I spent $70 (without tip) on a date night and I really felt like that was way too much for what we got, especially since if we had gotten a normal sized steak with our $20+ entree I don't think we would have ended up getting a $10+ appetizer to split too. This is probably my favorite place to eat in town. The food is surprisingly delicious - much better than the "tavern fare" it is billed as. The tacos are delish and the flatbread pizzas are amazingggg. Where WoB really shines is their Brunch! If you plan on drinking more than 1 drink, it is more cost effective to get the Bottomless Brunch. All you can drink bloodys, mimosas, or beermosas (Blue Moon and OJ). I have never had an item from their brunch menu that I didn't devour. And the best part?? They have brunch Saturday AND Sunday!!! Good beer and good enough food. We went during happy hour where they have a special for $2.50 beer. Those are like little beer shots or if you've ever had a flight it's the size of one of those little glasses for $2.50. If you're trying to taste a bunch of the stuff they have on draft this isn't a bad deal. The food is actually pretty good. I had their tacos and they were delicious along with tots and beer cheese. My guest had one of their huge pretzels with the beer cheese. I can't express enough how good that beer cheese is. I sincerely recommend you try it! The pretzel as well is on point, soft and warm and the perfect amount of salt. They aren't lying about it being giant, so I promise it's worth the $9. So, why not five stars? It's dirty and that's a personal pet peeve of mine. Clean your tables, no one wants to have to walk around the restaurant (its seat your self at lunch) looking for a clean table. I came here after work and from what I experienced, it was horrible. I asked the person if they do to go orders and she told me that I could order from the menu and see. After that, I had waited to for my order to be taken,but no one came to my table. Talk about bad service . They saw me with the menu and ready to order but completely ignored me. Who does that?! Have you ever been to a place and you just know it's been made specifically for a reason, such as special occasions/celebrations? That is exactly how I felt walking into WOB with my husband, as we were there to celebrate our lives together. From the drinks, to the food, to the live music and the customer service, everything just fell right into place for us. I had a few cocktails from their menu which were good, but I'll be trying some different things next time. Their appetizers not only smelled delicious but they were rich in flavor as well. For the German pretzel though I don't recommend the beer sauce unless you're a fan of horseradish as that is the only thing I tasted as soon as it hit my mouth. We couldn't come to a decision on entrees as everything sounded like it would be great so we got a few different things and just shared it all. All of the food did turn out to be great, but my favorite thing by far was the ribeye. Not only was the seasoning spot on, the tenderness of the steak was exactly what I wanted. We ended with a flight. The flights are pre-picked by the bartenders for that day. Ours was composed of some Sweetwater 420 IPAs a Wheat Ale and something else. We were so pleased with it we ended up going to the liquor store across the street to grab some six packs of the Sweetwater 420 IPAs. While we were there, a live band was playing some piano lounge music. The servers and manager constantly checked in with us throughout our dining experience. All of these components made our celebration such a pleasant and relaxing one. I told my husband that I would come back for the live band alone, he told me he would come back solely for the exceptional napkins lol. And yes he was dead serious. I was part of a large group of 10+ ppl and because there were smokers in the group we wanted to sit outside. Of the 4 tables available (all were filled) we requested to take the seating around the fire pit area but we're not allowed because the cushions for the bench seats were not covered in all weather material (as told to me by the manager on duty) and therefore they could not be used nor were we allowed to sir on the bench & chairs without the cushions. The only option we were left with wad to sit inside and the smokers were urged to stand outside near the entrance doors to smoke (no butt cans, so they were forced to "flick" their cigarettes in the parking lot) The beer is ridiculously wayyyyy over priced and so is the food. You won't find me going back. Just not worth the hype. :-( read more

Grand opening business is booming with an hour wait for a table on a Friday night; however, we had an actual wait time of 30 minutes. It was not a terrific experience for the group, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt because of their new staff. I will come back later to see if things got better. Before the table: Parking is horrendous much like chicken salad chick next door. There's only one way in and out, and when they're packed you will end up parking back towards Kroger. The restaurant texts you when your table is ready. This might be the best thing if you call to make reservations. Live music was playing loudly. Definitely not a conversational dinner after 8. Became a divey bar ambience. At the table: service was slow! Much like the other reviewers, took forever to get our drink orders in and get the food in. Never got water refills and appetizers came out five minutes before the entree. Food: the beer can chicken was dry and cold, and it sat in a pool of salty brown gravy. Skip it at all costs. The beer selection was as expected. We weren't asked if we wanted dessert, but we were still ordering drinks. Was really excited for this restaurant especially when I saw the brunch menu. Unfortunately the service killed the experience. Our hostess sat us and said that our waitress would be with us shortly. Not sure if there was a proper hand off but we never saw her. A little over 15 minutes later our hostess passed and notice that we were looking around and had no food or drinks and checked in on us. At that point it was too late after seeing two more tables come in and get immediate service. The thing that pushed it from a 1 Star to a 3 star is we did have the hostess and another attendant apologize to us and ask if they could make it better but after that long sitting we just decided to go across the street. The food I had (Bangers & Mash) was very tasty: the mashed potatoes and sausages were cooked right to the point and the tacos my friend had were delicious as well. We were in town for a soccer game and decided to give this place a try for a late lunch. When they say world of beer, they mean it. The beer selection was amazing. We're talking legal size paper front and back. Lots of choices. The beers were really good. The service was also really good. The food menu however was limited. I don't know if it was because it was the weekend or due to COVID. My burger was not impressive, no seasoning, no flavor but not terrible either. Ryan is the best server, hands down. I started really going here about 7 months ago and mainly because of Ryan. He was able to answer any and every question I've had. I have dined here a couple times for $5 burger Mondays which is an awesome deal. The service was good both times. I sat at the bar both times and was quickly greeted and served. They also have lunch time craft deal and allow you to taste a few when choosing which to order. The burger is thick and juicy even when I order the well-done burger. It comes with pickles, onions, tomato and lettuce. You can add other toppings (some are free and others cost anywhere from $0.50 to $2). The burgers come with steak fries or sweet potato fries or tater tots. I ordered steak fries and they were plenty. The meal is filling and tasty. I atmosphere is very open and bright and overall pleasant. They have live bands on some evenings which is always fun. I gave this place 4 stars because both times I ordered, they forgot my burger toppings and charged me for it. Both times I specifically asked for certain toppings (sautéed onions, mushrooms and jalapeños) and they forgot it. I came here for the Trivia Night on Wed. I ordered the happy hour menu items. The Crispy Chicken Tacos - $5 were ok. The chicken was a bit over fried. The Crispy Chicken Sliders - $5 used the same chicken tenders which were over fried as well. The sliders only had chicken between the bread and could use some lettuce and tomato to balance that dryness. The Loaded Tater - $5 tasted all right. There isn't much to write about tater tots. If I have to write something about it, it would either be out of this world or super bad. read more

Writing this review as I sit at the bar of World of Beer and drinking a beer. For late on a Wednesday night, there surprisingly a lot of people. Good, cold beer. A seemingly nice assortment of beers, reasonably priced. Clean bar. Edit: ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich. It was dry and took about 30 minutes to get out. Also, the waitress asked for my credit card to open a tab. Not sure why I needed to open a tab when I just came for a beer and sandwich. Now I know what you're thinking, WOB? There are so many other places with beer-tap options and even growlers available. Why here? Hear me out here. First, you have a great location. Washington Road, about 2 miles from the Interstate you find this place. And yes, there's a traffic light if you're turning left so you don't have to sweat traffic. Now parking is tight so you might have to find a spot in the large lot behind it, but still not much of a walk. Now let me mention the outdoor seating, because that is a hard sell. You are seated there facing the road and usually some heavy traffic. But they have done a great job of creating a atmosphere where it feels more like a backyard (including lawn furniture and a fire pit). Indoor seating has that woodsy feeling everyone is going for these days, but that's not a bad thing. Of course the claim to fame is the selection of beers. From taps to bottles to cans, they have 100's from around the world. And they do a good job on their food selection as well. I would suggest the apps more so than the meals, based on my experience. Friendly team and quick service. We just finished brunch here and everything was great. Bottomless breakfast drinks bloodies, mimosas and beermosas are $12.00. The food is also very good and hits the table quickly. We had chicken and waffle sandwich beerunch burger and giant pretzel all were cooked proper and tasty. Our server Colby was great he was on top of our table always checking in and refilling drinks. This place is a great casual bar if you want food and drinks. There was a musician when we arrived and he played until about 12-1AM. In addition, there's a huge selection of beers and cocktails. The service was great and patient despite our distractions (alcohol) and our server was especially friendly to us.
