Totally blew me away! What an unexpected surprise! I remember Wingers being loud and obnoxious. Finally-they have grown up and made a restaurant I will frequently be visiting. I used to love Wingers but my last visits (two years ago) sucked. The wings tasted blah and old and honestly, like they were under a heat lamp waiting for a gut. The environment was noisy and not relaxing and really loud with everyone competing to be heard at their own table. Today's experience has totally revamped my enthusiasm as this restaurant/bar is aimed at adults. Excellent wings again, wines, local and international brews, and a fully stocked bar and an atmosphere that is conducive for two people to have a conversation. Came in with a group of 6 on a slow Wednesday night. They have plenty of parking out front. The space is a typical sports bar decor, but everything was clean and the layout is nice with lots of options for booth, table, or barstool. The server Jennifer was friendly and prompt. No complaints. They were always on top of things. The citrus drink hit the spot for me but may be too pricey for some. The wings were delicious. One of my dining group said it wasn't spicy enough but by the end of the night they were breathing fire and said it built up to a good level. I got the teriyaki sauce since I am sensitive to spicy foods and it was perfect. A bit on the sweet side which I like, and I didn't feel sick or anything afterwards. The free popcorn is nice. I really liked my experience here and will prefer to go here again next time. read more

Horrible service. Even worse food. We had a reservation but ended up waiting 45 minutes to be seated because four children came along unexpectedly. The place was pretty dead when we arrived but it still took about an hour for food to arrive. When it did two whole entrees and a soup were missed. The waiter had no recollection of the order at all. One family member's burger was burned- as in black as charcoal. It took 30 min to replace and they gave the poor guy the wrong burger- topped w hot sauce which he hates. My husband and I ordered two types of mahi entrees. They were both bland as cardboard and overcooked. No one actually enjoyed their entrees. I am from out of town and both the raw vegan cafe and fast food sandwich and soup shops we've tried were fabulously gourmet compared to this dump! The manager apologized profusely and tried her hardest to rectify things but it was one mistake after another. Stay away! read more

The staff is unreal in this place. Stopped in on 4/14 around 9:45pm to grab a quick bite at the bar, which nobody was attending to. A few employees looked our way but never greeted us. After sitting at the bar over five minutes, a bar which hadn't been cleared from last customers that were long gone before we walked in, we walked across to Crow and the Pitcher for good drinks and food. I was skeptical at first about going to this restaurant based on some of the reviews, but wow am I glad we went! I got the smothered sticky finger burrito, and it was plenty of food to bring some home after as well. It was super delicious - the sauce was amazing. The guac was extra, but it was very good guac and enhanced the burrito. My husband got the sticky finger plate and subbed the fries for garlic fries. Those fries were amazing, and I now wish I either had the recipe or they had one of these restaurants back home in Georgia to have them more often! Our food was hot and great. We got the wings and the wings came out drenched in there buffalo sauce which is great! Fries are thick cut and covered in a spicy rub followed up with there special sauce mixed into fry sauce. Service was great. We had an Asian waiter I wish I got her name. She was super fast and on top of everything. Check in and made sure everything was perfect. Food was hot and good and I like the Buffalo sauce. Not sure why this place doesn't have better reviews, I've been coming here for the past month with my business partners during lunch and every time we are greeted quickly and friendly. The endless sticky fingers are an amazing deal, but I recommend getting the sweet/spicy chili sauce. Service is always on point, kenzie is quick and attentive and always keeps our beers full. My husband and I love this location. It's never so busy that you feel like you have to yell, or that you're ignored. Even when they are at maximum capacity, we never have to wait for a table, and it always seems relatively quiet. Everything is clean. Their food is consistent. Wings and fingers are delicious. As are the potato skins. All their chicken entrees are good, as are the burgers. One of my favorites is the blackened salmon. We like to go when they do their endless wings and fingers specials. I know it's sort of a sports grill, but they don't shove sports on you. They have several TVs on with different shows going. Highly disappointing experience. I called I. An order on the phone, and things started going wrong from there. I had to repeat my order 5 times- it seemed like she was distracted by something else AND she didn't have a clue about her own menu. When I arrived, the server had me sit at the bar to wait. In the past, they've offered me a drink and some popcorn while I wait. This time- nothing. Once I sat down, I wasn't acknowledged by anyone until they brought me... the food? No, the bill. I still had to wait another 5 minutes after that before the food was brought. I should have checked at the restaurant (that one is on me), but they managed to mess up the order. No Wingers sauce on the grilled chicken salad, no dressing, just grilled chicken tossed on the salad. Needles to say, I'm done with this location. I only eat at Winger's about once a year... and every time I go, I remember why I haven't gone back for a year. The real thing that draws me in is the all you can eat sticky fingers, which are pretty tasty and a definite bonus. I went recently because I saw this promotion advertised (and the other place I wanted to go was closed already). I walked in and the first thing I saw was that their alcohol license had been suspended. So, no beer with my wings. But that's ok, all you can est, right? My server was friendly but a little frazzled, despite the section not being too busy. She walked up and asked if we were ready to order about 3 seconds after we sat down. We said we needed a minute and she seemed confused, but went to get us water. Eventually we did order, and the food came out pretty quick and was good. I placed a 2nd order for Wings (all you can eat, after all) and the 2nd order took about 25-30 minutes to come out, and was the wrong food. I accepted it and ordered a different set of things that they brought to me a few minutes later. The next day, I was in the bathroom several times - I can only assume it was from the food I ate. Overall, the atmosphere seemed stressed and disorganized. I'll see you in a year, Winger's, when I forget why I didn't go back. read more

UPDATE: After leaving my original review I was contacted by Winger's management and encouraged to contact the District Manager, which I did. After several emails the franchise General Manager was involved and I was encouraged to give Wingers another chance. Both the DM and GM were very serious in trying to improve this location's image and I felt their intervention was sincere. The customer service I received was very positive and encouraging. It was because of this and their offer to "redo" my order that I decided to try Wingers a second time. This second experience was very different with the food being cooked properly and edible. This time I brought it into my office and shared it with my department to see what they thought of the food. The results were mixed but mostly positive. I thought the food was pretty good, however it is unfortunate it took two visits to get a bunch of fried food cooked correctly. The GM seems to be trying really hard to change the image of this location and probably has a long, uphill battle ahead of him. Nonetheless his customer service handling my issue deserves a lot of recognition and a big thanks. 5-stars for how they handled the poor experience and how quickly they brought it to a resolution. 4-stars overall because my original visit was still a compete failure. Thanks to Shawn and Tony at Wingers for fixing the original mistake and really trying to save their brand. While I probably wont ever be a "regular" customer, I would recommend this place if you are in the area and fried food is what's on your mind. read more

I wanted to let it go, but I just have to warn others. With the name Wingers, you'd think they'd make decent chicken wings. WRONG! They were awful! Tough and fatty, the quality you'd expect to get from a Domino's or supermarket deli counter. I ordered the original buffalo style, and the sauce was not done well. The plate was a mess, a disorganized pile of fries, wings and dry carrot slices. I'm just now remembering that our orders were supposed to come with cole slaw. Could have been the best part, but I'm probably better off not knowing. The price for the meal was also way too high, close to $20 per plate out the door. Other wing places do a much better job and at a better price. I will never set foot in a Wingers again, lesson learned! read more

The waitress working the table next to us came over and said she was sorry, but our table wasn't assigned to anyone. She said she'd take our order to help out. Gee, thanks. Before that, we kind of just watched four waitresses near the front door talking about their hair and stuff. They kept looking over at us, but did nothing. Finally got the food and it was pretty average. The salmon on my salad was great, but the salad was just OK. When we arrived, we thought how nice to have this place so close to our home. Wingers is a fun place. Instead of bread you get popcorn. But think one small step down from an Applebee's or a Chili's. Their wings (of course) are their featured dish. They are pretty good, but very unique (that's a good thing, right?). They are one part typical buffalo wing, and one part sweet. It works, though, and they are good--even when you are told that the secret ingredient is grape jelly. If you go to Winger's, you have to try them. Pretty typical food, otherwise. First off we were sat down at a sticky table I looked around we were the only ones here so it should be fast, right? Wrong! We ordered wings and soup, took about 35 minutes after ordering to get our food and when it got to us the wings were stone cold and the soup was frozen solid. The weird part was the wings were cooked meaning they precooked the wings then froze them for speed and it still took 35 minutes while we were the only ones in the restaurant. We came her about a year ago when they first opened and it was amazing. The service was on point the ambiance was chill and clean and the food was great. It is so bad now! This is the 3rd time in a row we've come and haven't been seated for 10-15 minutes when there's probably 20 tables open. It takes 20 minutes just to get served a GLASS OF WATER. I don't know if they are constantly short staffed or just have the crappiest servers in town. Either way, even though this wingers is 3 minutes from our house I think we will start going out to the one in west valley and hope for better service. read more

Winger's! Curse you for making your wings so damn good! They are exactly what a wing should be. Crispy, hot and delicious! I must admit that I crave them on frequent occasions. I am only giving them 3 stars because of the long wait times that we must endure to get our food. (generally 30-40 min after ordering) The service is spotty. Sometimes we get the side salads that we order, sometimes we don't. All in all, it isn't bad. I would not suggest going if you are short on time or patience. read more

Friday July 29th 2011 I've been to Winger's a hundred times. It's always been a family favorite. It has always been a place where you can find something on the menu for any appetite or craving. But the 4790 South Location in Salt Lake is by far the worst one I've ever been to. The Service was the terrible. The food was cold, and the portion sizes were all small. I kid you not, but the server we has was stoned out of his mind. Not only was he out of it and mess up on our orders, but he messed up on our bills. He got our drinks wrong several times and never came back for 20 minutes at a time. He could barley stand up and he also couldn't see through his watering red eyes. If the poor service hadn't been bad enough he reeked of weed. When we brought up the poor service the Manager Ellen told us that is not a big deal. "She'll talk with him." We expressed the problems with the bills and over charges and she said it wasn't her problem. THEY ALSO ADDED AN AUTOMATIC GRATUITY!!! Because we told them were weren't going to tip poor service. (by Utah Law you can't Add Gratuity charges unless your of a group 8 or more) I will never go to the 4790 South Winger's location again...I hope this review helps others from suffering the poor service I did last weekend.. read more

With this Wingers, it's always kind of a toss up. You'll get either a super nice server, who makes sure you have everything you want, or you'll get a rude server who ignores you, even if you're yelling across the room. It's always clean, and well kept. As for the food, it depends on what you like. They base their menu around their wings, but I prefer the sticky fingers (dipped in Creamy Amazing sauce, yum!). They have a wide selection of food from burgers, to salads, to hot plates, to soups. The best dessert there is either the Asphalt Pie (a mint ice cream pie with cookie crust) or Concrete Pie (the same but with cookie dough ice cream)... although the names aren't too appetizing, they are amazing! You get what you pay for, and it's pretty family friendly. They have high chairs and special carriers for your baby carrier. They also have coloring books and crayons for your youngsters. There are TVs spread throughout the entire restaurant, and generally show a variety of shows, such as sports, sitcoms, or news. On major sports occasions and other special occasions (such as the LDS Conference) it's nearly impossible to get a table, and you'll have to wait. Overall, it's pretty good, but never my first choice. read more

Service is subpar and take-out orders are never 100%. This location recently had their Full Service Liquor license suspended which isn't a big deal to me. Winger's is still one of my favorite restaurants from a menu stand point but this location is the one I would avoid. read more
