Ignored by wait staff. Abruptly told to wait when I tried to get their attention. Felt invisible. This was after waiting 40 minutes to have our order taken and another 25 minutes waiting for our food and drink, which still didn't arrive, nor did a server check in with ys. So... we paid for the two drinks we did have, cancelled the rest of our order, and went elsewhere. A total of seven customers in the establishment, including us. If you're looking for a laid-back sports bar with a solid burger and a big patio, The Point After is a great local pick. Inside, it's a little dark and dated, but there are plenty of TVs playing all the current games, which makes it perfect for catching a match. I went on a beautiful spring day and grabbed a table on the patio--spacious, sunny, and a total highlight. There's even a fire pit for cooler nights, which is a nice touch. Service was great--prompt and friendly. We started with the jalapeño poppers (crispy and flavorful), and I got the blue cheese burger, which was juicy and bold without being overpowering. The fries were also solid--not greasy, just right. My friend ordered the fish and chips, and while they weren't bad, they definitely tasted frozen and refried. Probably wouldn't go that route again, but I'd absolutely come back for the burger and a chill patio session. "what a dump!" Is the first thing that came out of my mouth when I walked in this place for the first time. I don't think the waitress, who l find out is the only one working the joint, appreciated. My party was already sat down in the back next to the cylinder jail like walls. But as I looked around they have windows but we couldn't sit their because they are high tops and my mom was with us and can't sit up high. Anyhow it looks like a typical sports bar. This place has been around a long time but it's in good shape. Our server was nice and took down our orders. Food was slow to come out but not a bad steak dinner. Cooked as I liked it with a hearty salad and baked potato all for $14.99! Now i see the popularity. The food was seriously delicious. My sister got the special of the day and it was spaghetti with meatballs and it was really good too. Some ladies at the bar got a fried appetizer dish and it was huge and looked good. The menu looks good and I will b back again to try something new and partake in some alcohol. I'm looking forward to a bloody Mary. This place is located left as you walk in to the sportsmall. This little hole in the wall bar inside the sportsmall in Murray isn't a place for a quick drink. Service here is extremely slow. There's one bartender and one server, but you gotta catch them when they're not on their breaks otherwise, you're waiting forever. It took about 15 minutes to put 3 orders in and another 10 to make it. I ordered the hot toddy and they didn't even mix it for me! There's large TVs here for you sports fanatics. My lunch group has The Point After in our rotation. We love the inexpensive Friday steak special and have never been disappointed as the food is quite tasty. Love the fries, the burgers are good too, but greasy. But the reason for my poor review is their greedy pricing. I ordered extra pickles and was charged 50 cents extra. 50 cents for 3 measly pickles! Normal restaurant pickles too, nothing special. This isn't the first time they've charged extra either, I ordered a tall Bombay. gin & tonic and was charged an additional 1$ for 3 more ounces of generic tonic out of a gun. What's next? Will they committed the dastardly Utah sin of CHARGING FOR EXTRA FRY SAUCE? Guess the owner doesn't think his costumers notice this greedy AF PRICING. Just increase the prices, man. This nickel and dimming is ridiculous. Makes me wonder if the owner is too cheap to print a new menu? read more

Disclaimer first. I am not a fan of watching sports so this spot wasn't for me. Typical sports bar fare. Plain, bare walls and tv screens to stare at while you drink a beer or eat pub food. This place is nothing fancy, unless you're into sports. Food portions are pretty good and you can feed multiple people if you order a couple plates of finger food. Staff seemed pretty nice and service was great. Just typical drinks you'd find at a regular bar or small town place. Beer on tap and don't expect anything fancy like a cocktail or mixed drink. Maybe I'll have to give it another shot sometime when a major game is playing. A cold beer and some sports do go hand in hand It's a little difficult to find unless you know what you're looking for. The door to the bar is inside the entrance and to the left. There is plenty of seating inside and they also have tables outside if you prefer some fresh air. Augghh. Come for the TV's and not the food. In on business and looking for a sports bar to watch the games and settled in here. Definitely a festive sporty feel upon entrance. Fairy small bar table with only about 15 shoulder to shoulder high chairs. Two large wall and multiple flats throughout, a pool table with plenty of dining tables to sit your booty. One look at the menu rendered this place your average at best run of the mill basic bar grub. They boasted in large print the smoked and made in bbq infused pulled pork, so my decision was made along with some habanero flavored wings. Immediately I noticed the sandwich looked rather slight in size and I could see the bbq sauce glazed upon the top of the pork between 2 hamburger buns next to the thin potato skinned fry's; which turned out to be the best part of the meal. So, the pork was definitely not smoke or made with bbq sauce ad I could taste. Kinda dry and lacked flavor. No, not terrible for a hunger tummy, but subpar at best. The wings with a burnt orange hue tasted more like your basic vinegar flavored REDs hot sauce rather than Habanero. Dry as the desserts this city sits upon combined with watery blue cheese, another failure. The fry's were solid and helped to curb my appetite. Festive environment with friendly service and fairly sanitary. Looked like patrons were having fun. Not a destination and the food sorta sucks. Good for a beer with buds, but I can't help but think there has to be better venues in the area close by. read more

This is the packer hangout for Salt Lake City. The food is inexpensive and delicious both. Steins, pints, bottles and a full bar and menu. Plenty of TV's to host every regular season football game and a big parking lot to boot. The large older guy in the front entrance who I presume is either the manger or owner was not-welcoming or friendly. Cash only cover charge, no credit or debit cards are accepted. When I sat down and ordered, I was informed that the the bar has a policy of not providing water (no joke). I was told I could order a bottle of water for $1.00. I started to come for Bingo. It is what can be expected from a bar that shares a building with a gym. Food is not that great, the need to add seasoning to their meats. Good selection of drinks at aaa expected price. The service is okay at best when Bingo is not being done. The staff for Bingo are usually nicer than regular times. Shocked to learn that they charge for water and didn't get a real answer why until one of the bar tenders explained that the bingo goers do not always by food or drinks. Really bummed about our experience. Apparently if you aren't a "regular" you should expect very short and rude service. As I am also a bartender, I understand the hustle and don't expect much (service wise) when you sitting at a bar counter. What a great neighborhood bar!! Amazing food, and very friendly staff. The first night I ate here I was served by Christy, the next couple of nights I was served by Windy. Both very fun and friendly servers, both great at making you feel like a regular. The bar tender has the gift of gab, everyone was his friend and you could tell his customer liked him. The guy at the door/Bouncer very polite and greets everyone with a smile. The other servers, were all very friendly and helpful, and even though they did not wait on me you could tell they were also great. If you are looking for a great place to watch a game or hangout with friends. You can't go wrong at the point after. The good: -Friendly staff and good service. -Drink prices are average. -Pool tables, punching bag thing, music, outside area. -I hold the record for hardest punch on the dragon punch machine upstairs! I'm not sure why I felt this needed to be mention . The bad: -It's kind of a dive. Which I personally like. It is never really busy. So if you're looking for a party, go elsewhere. -It's pretty much a gym / bar. The patrons are usually coming after the gym (I'd guess 90%). Never thought I'd be a regular at a bar, but I guess I am one now! Our team has been coming here for a couple of years now after our weekly games, and now the staff knows us well! The beers are really cheap ($4 for a pint of Killian's!) and the food has always been fantastic!! I'm a huge fan of the chicken quesadillas, but their wings are great, club is perfectly toasted and moist, and the garlic ranch burger is pretty dang good too! I've never had anything that I didn't like! The service is hit or miss. Some weeks great, others not so much. We like Lara, but a couple of the other servers are ok. Say hi to Doug on the way in! Came a few nights ago to catch the tail end of the Holy War U v. BYU where we smashed them yet again. It was surprisingly not that full, and better yet I found out they show UFC fights! Damn. And it was free that night! Too bad we came too late. From the sounds of it service isn't that good, but we didn't really experience it because a friend just went up to the bar and got a couple beers. Two shock top bottles for $7. Eh not the greatest. Tons of screens, two huge projection screens. Took a look at the menu, prices were decent. I didn't try anything though. I asked the guy up front as we walked out and he said cover for UFC fights are $5. Typical. But hey for being so close and hopefully not very crowded I'd go.
