Another great meal at the cotton bottom!! Lots of parking and great service ! Prices are a bit higher but so is everything these days! Lots the sunny patio out back - use the QR code to cruse the menu and they also have it posted on the wall! Garlic burger - great garlic flavor but wished they used fresh smashed garlic it would add the missing crunch on the burger after its grilled - burgers are dressed nicely- tomato lettuce and mayo! Side of fries - awesome fries best in town! Chips comes with the burger ! Parking wasn't a problem just a fun place for a late lunch on a beautiful spring day

The Cotton Bottom is located at the foothills of Cottonwood Canyon on a discrete side street. Theres plenty of outdoor seating and is a nice place to enjoy a meal on days where the weather is nice. One thing I appreciate about this establishment is that the menu is simple, they offers two types of burgers: cheese burgers or garlic burgers. I went with the famous garlic double burger and boy was it huge. Served in an unorthodox hoagie style bread this behemoth comes with three patties, American cheese, fresh lettuce, tomato, and onions and of course garlic. There's was a slight concern that these burgers would be on the heavy garlic side, but in fact the garlic is somewhat subtle. Great burgers are tough to come by in Utah and this is up there with the best.

It's been many years since we have been over here. Burgers, fries, and actual server were great. Love the new front patio - since we were here last! It just sucks to get off on the wrong foot with the hostess setting the wrong tone. Coming in off a hike I have my Stanley with water and she barks at me - you can't bring that in here! Ok. Just a ridiculous rule when it's clearly water. So she shows us to the table and shows me they give free water - that is actually currently empty. Well if I can't bring my own in please at least make sure your is ALWAYS full. A rant, yes, and irritating, nonetheless.

I love how this dive bar is at the base of BCC. It is perfect for apres after skiing in the winter or a refuel station after a long hike in the warmer months. Besides a brief burger and hot dog menu, TCB offers beer on draft, a can/bottle selection, cocktails and wine. When you get tired of talking to your family or friends, there are tvs inside to compliment a centerpiece pool table as well as a patio that provides live music when it's warm. They keep the tables moving by checking in frequently, so don't take it the wrong way when asked if you want the check. I could see TCB become my new hangout spot when coming out of the canyons!

Amazing burger, wonderful atmosphere, great staff, beautiful area, snd great experience of Utah life.

Ohhhh... is that a bite of excitement in my 'garlic' cheeseburger?

Unless I'm mistaken, when I used to come to the Cotton Bottom, the patties were handmade with real chopped up cloves of garlic embedded in the meat - grilled - then put on a wonderful hoagie bun with lettuce and onions and cheese, served with potato chips. I moved out of state several years ago, and every time I come back to Utah, I crave a Cotton Bottom garlic burger. So today, I gave into my inner Garlic lover and went to the Cotton Bottom for lunch. A beautiful spring day sunny music was great. Everything was perfect. I have to admit the burger was pretty good, but in looking at the meat patty, I couldn't see any garlic. I tasted it, but I couldn't see it. So I finished my burger and the fries, which is now on the menu as an up charge from the chips, and a beer. Yeah, with tip it's a very expensive lunch. But I was satisfied with the flavor of the burger and the fries were great. When I passed by the kitchen on my way out the back exit, I asked the cook, how many cloves of garlic do you put in each burger patty? He and said "none", it's garlic powder and a garlic aïoli that they put on the bun to give the garlic flavor. Wait... What??!! That's like having strawberry shortcake and instead of strawberries, you get jam! I was totally deflated. I don't know when things changed, but it's just not the same as having pieces of raw garlic grilled into the patty that's in that bun that I love. At least like I remember. Who knows, maybe my old age has betrayed me and my memories of raw garlic are just in my fantasies. Is it wrong though to want to fulfill your fantasy? Service was fantastic, bartender great, and all were a great friendly staff. It was just missing real, natural, garlic... That's all.

The garlic burger was absolutely delicious, and the fries were perfect--crispy and flavorful. They definitely didn't disappoint! Even though the place looked busy, we were seated quickly, and the customer service was great. The wait time for food was very reasonable. I also really liked the atmosphere: the garden outdoor area is super cute, while the indoor space has more of a fun dive bar vibe.

I've been wanting to try Cotton Bottom for so long and am very happy I finally did. It completely fits the stereotypical dive bar vibes but what helps them stand out is the staff. Our waitress was so welcoming and sweet she sat down at the table and basically because apart do the friend group and we felt apart of the Cotton Bottom Family. The Garlic Burger was served on hogue style bread and comes with chips on the side which I thought added a nice touch and when they say basket of fries they mean BASKET!!! It's $16 but WORHT IT because the fries are the perfect balance of salty & crispy.

They are operating as a restaurant so in Utah, you are required to order food with your drinks. They do have some cheaper food options and the servers are very cool with you sharing food. I recommend getting a pizza to share! As far as the food is concerned, it's your pretty standard bar/pub food but a little bit more upscale. Our server was funny, personable, and attentive, especially when it came to drinks and refills. Things started going downhill when I received my entree, the Poor Man's Truffle. Unfortunately, the only way this dish lived up to its name was in how little the supposedly high-quality ingredients seemed to come through. The dish itself is fairly simple, which normally isn't a bad thing when the ingredients are meant to speak for themselves. With Belper Knolle, truffle oil, pistachio pesto, tomato, fennel, and arugula, I expected something flavorful and well balanced. Instead, the entire dish tasted incredibly mild. Belper Knolle is typically a bold, salty, peppery cheese, and I could visibly see the black pepper around the edges of the thin shavings, but the flavor barely registered. I also couldn't taste the truffle oil at all. There was visible oil pooling at the bottom of the plate, but no noticeable truffle flavor. I understand pistachio pesto tends to be more subtle than a traditional basil pesto, but altogether, this dish just fell completely flat for me. The presentation didn't help either. It looked more like something that had been scooped from a pan and dropped onto the plate than a thoughtfully plated entree. When a dish misses both on flavor and presentation, that's when it becomes a real disappointment for me. I will say the gnocchi itself was cooked well, which was one of the few positives. I also tried the burger, and it was significantly better than my pasta. However, the very small sprinkle of bacon was a little baffling considering it was an additional upcharge. Where the night really went downhill was at the end of the meal. I had been excited to try the beignets because that isn't a dessert I see on menus very often. Our entree plates were cleared, and then we waited about 20 minutes before our server returned and asked whether we were ready for the check. Dessert wasn't mentioned, and by that point our table was tired of waiting, so we decided to skip it and asked for our checks. Then our server disappeared for another 30 minutes. We eventually had to flag down a hostess who was seating another table and let her know that we were still waiting for the check. About five minutes later, our server finally returned and casually explained how "crazy" the night had gotten because of the show. I understand restaurants get busy, but the apology felt very dismissive after we had waited nearly an hour from finishing our entrees to finally receiving the check. It genuinely felt like our table had simply been forgotten. I also want to add that I tend to hold restaurants like this to a higher standard. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for." If I'm eating at a fast-food spot or somewhere inexpensive and casual, there's only so much room to complain. But when a restaurant has prices like this, highlights premium ingredients on the menu, and presents itself as a more elevated dining experience, I think that naturally opens the food and service up to more criticism. At that price point, I expect the quality, presentation, and overall experience to reflect what I'm paying for. My final takeaway is that maybe I ordered the wrong dish. Pesto is one of my favorite things, so I almost always want to give a pesto-based dish a try. Unfortunately, Prohibition's pesto gnocchi was not it for me. I also saw that they describe themselves as a scratch kitchen using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, which I don't necessarily doubt. What confused me was how so many ingredients that should have distinct flavors somehow tasted like almost nothing. If your goal is interesting drinks and a fun show, this is probably still a place worth considering. Since we sat outside, I can't speak on the show part, but it seems to be a big hit. Food-wise, though, it missed the mark for me.

I was in the Salt Lake City area visiting four colleagues, and they highly recommended the restaurant, so I was looking forward to trying it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich ($19.99) and added a Caesar salad ($4.99), with beans and coleslaw as my sides. Unfortunately, my meal was pretty underwhelming. The pulled pork wasn't very flavorful and didn't taste particularly fresh. The coleslaw was vinegar-based, which I personally didn't care for at all, and the beans were just mediocre. Overall, I was disappointed with my meal. That said, two of my colleagues ordered the prime rib sandwich ($23.49), which is similar to a French dip, and they both raved about it. They said it was excellent. Another person in our group had the tri-tip sandwich ($20.49), and the chicken plate was $21.99. Our total for five people came to $128.43 including tax, before tip. The service was average--nothing particularly bad, but nothing that stood out either. On the positive side, I really liked the interior and ambiance of the restaurant. It was attractive, comfortable, and very clean. I'm giving Bandits three stars based on my personal experience this time around, but I'm definitely willing to give it another chance. Based on how much my colleagues enjoyed the prime rib sandwich, I'll probably order that on my next visit and see if it's as good as they described. Sometimes the first thing you order just isn't the restaurant's best dish, so I'm not writing this place off yet.
