Been here several times over the years and have always enjoyed the food and location. We ordered online - lots of pictures and description of each dish. A family favorite are the street cart fries - we add mix meat and it's a total meal. For our veggie preferred members we get the street cart fries w/out meat. It's always filling love it with the sweet potato fries. The small salad is a great mixture of fresh veggies w/ lots of crunch The kid's meal is always a great size for the kiddos We always get a large Fried Pita w/hummus. Some folks really rave about Spitz. This is the fourth I've been to since moving to Utah. Don't get me wrong it's good to be sure. It's not however anything great and certainly not good enough to justify the prices they charge. I admit I may be jaded coming from an area with objectively great middle eastern and fusion food. However, I do think I'm very capable of being objective and rating individual places on their own merits. To that end I can't justify any higher rating than 3 stars. This place is on my speed dial, because of their awesome customer service & amazing quality of food. My orders have always been spot on, and the food tastes even better + it's delicious healthy food! I've tried many of their items, but I routinely get the Street cart donor wrap and sometimes I add fries inside, but I always get it spicy! I also bounce between the Donor Salad & the Remix Bowl. No matter what you order, your stomach will thank you! The inside is always clean, and there are plenty of seats if you want to sit inside or out. We stopped by after a trip up Big Cottonwood Canyon. Service was very friendly. We ate outside which was nice, but they also have a pretty big dining area. Food was good but not great. I have been to spitz before and love it but had never tried this location. I was very excited when some people at work asked me to go here. I got my usual: street cart fries with sweet potatoes. It was as good as ever. Their sweet potato fries are my favorite. It comes with a lot of food, so I ended up getting two meals out of it. This location has gorgeous mountain views with good seating options both inside and outside. I would recommend checking it out! read more

Spitz is a tasty fast casual Mediterranean spot at the mouth of the Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was a no-brainer for picking up food after a day of skiing without having to drive anywhere. This was our first--and definitely last--visit. To be fair, part of the blame is on me. I ignored the obvious red flags. First: no greeting from the woman working there--unless you count the near-contemptuous look she gave us as we approached the door. Second: a guy sitting at a nearby table bumped me with his chair on his way out and didn't say a word. No "excuse me," no "sorry"--nothing. Third: after we sat down, the same woman didn't tell us we had to go to the counter to order. After I placed the order, she brought the food, but never checked in to see if we were enjoying it or needed anything else. As for the food, the ideas behind the menu choices are quite good. Unfortunately, the food itself was quite mediocre. We were in town for work. We're from Las Vegas and eat out a lot. We've never felt more unwelcome in any restaurant than we did at Spitz Cottonwood. My advice? Skip it and eat next door at Bandit's Grill and Bar. Friendly staff, great service and terrific food. read more

This was a very nice restaurant that we chose based on the reviews and proximity to where we were staying. I have not had any dinner dishes before and this was a pleasant change. I enjoyed the remix bowl and the sauces were very tasty. The portions were very sufficient and probably you might have a little left overs. Nice atmosphere, great service. Had really high expectations going in due to their 4.5 star average Yelp rating. But I didn't enjoy my food nearly enough to justify the price... I had their Doner Basket, which sounds amazing on paper but when you mix gyro meat, fried pita, fried garbanzo, lettuce, hummus, and french fries all together... they don't mesh all that well. The fries being on the bottom, they were kinda soggy by the time I got to them. The amount of meat in the basket was disappointly low when compared to the price as well. For $14, I can get like triple the amount of meat from the Halal Guys in NYC. And considering the ridiculously high cost of everything in NYC, to be paying just as much but getting less meat in Utah is sad to me. read more

One of my favorite spots! Amazing food, pretty fast service, gyros and fries are the best.

For anyone who has been to Cava, this feels very similar but it's a bit fancier and more comforting. One thing I love about this place is all the sauces. I'm a sauce person and loved having so much variety. The portions are deceptively large and filling, and all the dishes are delicious in different ways. Another thing I like is that it's all very fresh and you don't walk out feeling sluggish. The ambiance is also very cool. Would definitely recommend this place for casual, good quality dining. read more
