I was a little underwhelmed with the food. I got a Gyro Sandwich with white sauce, Dolmas, and Avgolemono soup. The main issue is that the Tzatziki sauce... Well, the problem is that they don't have Tzatziki sauce, they have "white" sauce which is very thin, not very flavorful and not much like Tzatziki at all. So since that's a huge part of a good Gyro it took massive points off their Gyro as well as the Dolmas. I do want to say that their Dolmas have ground meat in them, which I really like. The Dolmas were okay but not as flavorful as I would have liked and the "white" sauce was not good. My favorite item was the Avgolemono soup. It wasn't my favorite example of Avgolemono ever but it was the best of the food I got on this trip. read more

Stopped in a few days ago about an hour before closing time; not sure if it was our timing or if they were having an off day in the kitchen, but I was very underwhelmed. The chicken gyro was very nicely wrapped in a warm pita, but the sauce I chose (you can get either red or white) was very reminiscent to a marinara, both in flavor and consistency. Not what I was expecting, but good. The chicken itself however was huge chunks of grilled chicken breast, which were difficult to eat in a gyro. The sides were subpar; I didn't finish either of them. I had not been to Dasks Greek Grill in a few years and was very excited to pick up a Greek salad there. I ordered the large size and paid almost $18 for it. To upgrade to the large salad, it cost five dollars. The only thing different about the small Greek salad and the large Greek salad is a hell of a lot of bagged iceberg lettuce. This jumbo salad was almost all iceberg lettuce. There were three tomato wedges two slices of cucumber about a quarter inch thick, and two olives. I was so disappointed. Even the tzatziki sauce was pathetic thin yogurt with shredded carrots. The Daskalakis family knows better. Not sure if they sold the restaurant or just lowered their standards to the point of embarrassment. Even the gyro meat was pathetic. I will never go back. I don't think I'll even eat the salad. It is that bad. I can't believe they charged what they did for this gyro salad. UPDATE! I just looked at their online menu and it said Large Gyro Salad $10.95 Why was I charged almost $18. Diminishing quality. Dask's seems empty all the time and I can see why. As a local we occasionally go there as it's the only greek food close by, but we're consistently underwhelmed with the vaule. The food is pretty good but it feels as though they're trying to just stay in business. They could learn something from Lone Star nearby which always has a line. If you're desperate perhaps, but there's much better nearby. read more

Generous portion of hummus on a soft pita with cucumber, onion, lettuce and THICK slices of tomatoes...thick! So good! Too many times from other restaurants I've ordered their vegetarian sandwich to find super thin tomato slices with a heap of lettuce and feel disappointed that they just didnt get it. To the vegetarian ...the tomato is the meat. We want something to bite into ...boy did the vegan gyro deliver!!! Thank you for understanding the importance of a thick slice of tomato!! I love this place! My family and I live right around the corner and have been coming here for a long time now. The food and service have always been top notch The owner, George, is the sweetest. He always takes the time to chit chat with my dad if he's there and makes sure to gives us extra sauces. I recommend their onion rings! I always appreciate a place that has good onion rings and this is one of them. They're crispy without making the onion mushy. I also usually get the gyro platter with white sauce and rice and salad as the sides. Just as good as the onion rings. read more

The service is very slow but the food is yummy, especially when you are starving after a long day on the hill. Always always get the fries. They're so good here. The pita sandwiches are large enough to split if you have smaller appetites. The prices are about the same as if you went to 'Bout Time next door but you don't have the sports bar atmosphere (kids are welcone in Dasks) and you don't have to tip. I recently visited another Greek restaurant and fell in love worth the chicken kabobs. Dasks is much closer to home, so I thought I would it a shot. Never again! The prices were outrageous! 11 for a tiny chicken kabob that was served with a crazy large pita (for what they're was no meat to put in it) and a yogurt sauce not a tzatziki sauce (no cucumber, no herbs, no taste). The service was weird. A man (owner or manager) came to help the line started taking my order then mid sentence walked away to help someone in the dining area. He came back, but it was unprofessional. Inside was clean, sandwich shop table and chairs. I wish I had taken a picture. read more

My experiences at Dasks have been disappointing. The gyros are OK, but nothing like the beauties at Greek Souvlaki. The falafel is edible, but laughable when compared to the best of the best at O'Falafel. The greek salad is satisfactory, but can't compete with those found at Crown Burger or The Other Place. The fries are crisp, but under-seasoned. And you have to pay for fry sauce, which is a major pet peeve of mine. in fact, there are no condiments set out at all, except some salt and pepper packets. No hot sauce, ketchup, or Sambal. There are no napkin holders either, so you have to ask for extra. Pretty lame. read more

This is a my neighborhood go-to joint for Greek takeout. They are quick and efficient at getting your meal ready. Sometimes they even have a sweet Groupon deal, which is how I first decided to give this place a try. I like the falafel gyro, lamb gyro, mixed souvlaki kabobs plate, spanakopita, hummus, dolmathes, and fried zucchini sticks. Any of the plates come with a choice of 2 sides. I always get the Greek salad and then it's a toss up between fries or lemon rice. They make a decent Dask's burger too. This place isn't the most stellar Greek place that I have visited. Sometimes the falafel can be crumbly and the souvlaki may be a bit dry. However, they are closest Greek place to my house and they are fast and affordable. The spanakopita is probably what they do best. read more
