I had a bowl of lemon chicken soup, which was quite good: a nice amount of chicken, orzo (instead of rice) and a delicious lemony broth. The problem was the spinach pie, which was essentially inedible. The inside was very mushy and the spinach was dull brown. It didn't taste like spinach pie, and I couldn't stomach it. I ordered two greek meals, salad, fries for 40 dollars and get home, there is absolutely no sauce. Instead of spending time eating with my family I came back to get sauce. The woman on staff said I need to pay though I just paid and left my family so I could get sauce. I grew up in Salt Lake, and even worked for original owners while in college. Visiting my sister it was nice to see a few more locations, and this one in Murray was the tops! Hard to believe it's been an entire decade since I've been here, but and so we are. This time around, I had the pork souvlaki plate with the rice. Souvlaki was done pretty well, cooked nicely, slightly overly herby for me. Rice was a bit more lemony than I usually like and definitely a touch on the salty side, but fine. There is a Coke Freestyle there, so that's a plus. I also had a baklava, which I'm sad to report was one of the worst I've had in quite some time, both overpriced and somewhat dried out. Won't be repeating that. Very nice for a change of pace and the place is still quite clean inside, but pretty far from enough to move the needle. It has been years since I have eaten at a Greek Souvlaki. I was out taking a relative to the doctor and we decided to get Greek food like we used to. And we were so glad we did. The menu is basically as we remembered. The service was fast, and the food was just like we remembered. It was so nice to still be served the same quality now as we used to get back in the day. I've been eating at Greek Souvlaki for 40 years, unfortunately this location fails the company's good name. I went through the drive through and had to repeat my order multiple times. I had to repeat the order at the window. When I got home, I opened the bag to discover entirely the wrong order. I can live with a mistake, but the condescending attitude of the lady at the drive through was too much. She is generally incompetent and usually rude, but the "this is your fault attitude is too much. Mad Greek is closer, cheaper, and friendlier. read more

We ordered takeout tonight for the first time. I arrived a few minutes before the pickup time. Our order was ready and bagged on the counter. The customer service was ok, not great but ok. The lady that assisted me was more worried about a text message than me. So, I traveled the 10 minutes home and opened up the bags. Everything was packaged appropriately and the order was correct. Here's why I can't go beyond 3 stars...the fries were cold. Maybe they should have put toppings in a separate container. Maybe the order was done long before the pickup time and the order sat. I'm not sure. If I was to order the fries again, I'd request they cook them a bit crispier as well. These were like limp noodles. And cold. The gyros were okay. They are the smallest ones we've ever had from a Greek restaurant. The chicken souvlaki pita was good as well. None of them were that warm either, but not earth shattering. I might go back or I might not. I think there are a few other Greek/Mediterranean restaurants that have this place beat. read more

I am visiting from out of town and have been craving this place. When I asked my mom to take me there she didn't want too. Because the staff has been so rude to her the past few times she's gone. She has a serious gluten allergy and cannot help when she has to ask for a new plate because they put bread on it (when she ordered no bread) she has told me things they have done to her and how they act annoyed towards her. Greek Souvlaki is one of our favorite go-to restaurants for fast and fresh Greek. I tend to grab chicken gyros with tzatziki sauce, because they're super healthy and flavorful with the included roasted vegetables. My youngest son and my husband prefer lamb gyros with red and/or white sauce. My eldest son absolutely loves the Philly, which is lamb sautéed with onions, topped with melty cheese, served in a warm and fluffy pita. Their fries are consistently good. They're served hot and crispy, with a side of fry sauce that has a nice little spicy kick to it. Yum. If you happen to prefer a side of rice instead, their lemon rice is flavorful and good, with a nice blend of lemon and olive oil. If you order the salad, I believe it's made with iceberg lettuce so we tend not to order that. They have a soda fountain machine that will serve typical Coke products and it will also make different flavored concoctions, if you like that sort of stuff.. ? Salt Lake has A LOT of options if you're in the mood for Greek, and this is one of the best. I love the chicken souvlaki--they put onion and zucchini on the kabob in between each piece of chicken, so the chicken pieces don't cook all together and become difficult to take off the stick and eat. My husband likes the gyros and my kids love the spaghetti with mizythra cheese. The fries are average and the fry sauce is on the spicy side, which we like! The lemon rice isn't overwhelmingly flavorful (no egregious amounts of lemon pepper on it) but it is definitely flavorful enough. My favorite thing is the drive thru. I don't have to pull my kids out of the car to get a better-than-fast-food quality meal. Be prepared for your order to take a little longer, because they cook to order. The difference between the regular order of souvlaki and the souvlaki plate is french fries and about $2. Not worth the "upgrade" in my opinion, Plus fries are bad, mm'kay? ok fine, their fries are REALLY good, but I'm on a diet. I have been to this location and also the one towards downtown. Both have the same menu and the same quality food. This location is now open on Sundays which is a bonus when you just have to have your Gyro. My favorite thing is the Yeero (Gyro) combo. It depends on my mood but both the White and Red sauces are good. If you want spicy then go with the Red but if you want something creamy then go with the white sauce. Their fries are good with being crispy on the outside and not too oily. Don't forget to get fry sauce!! Their lemon rice has just the right amount of lemon hint in it without being over powering. I will say that the rice is a tad bit oily though but it is in no way swimming in oil. The combos might seem a bit pricey at about $7.80 but you get a decent side of either rice or fries and a drink. I love this place! The food is great! I prefer the plate vs the combo meal. The plate comes with rice, French fries, a fresh salad, and your main. Got there a little early and my order was still being prepared, I confirmed that my request for "sauce on the side" and "no tomato, no onions" came through on the order because honestly you just never know what makes it through. She said it had so I waited. A little later I heard her tell the cook to remake that particular item and to read the ticket. I was so happy that she checked it and requested the correction. After going on an extended break from eating here i stopped by. It was the only place open, i was in a time crunch and I had to get a greek salad or else. I was reminded why i dont come here anymore. I was the only car in the drive thru and it took 20 minutes to receive my order...salad. I could have bought the stuff from maceys grocery store and been home in that time. The lettuce is mostly white iceberg which isn't my favorite. But what really disappointed me was how wet the feta was and why it was so wet? At first i thought it was cottage cheese! Keep in mind, this is fast food Greek, but still quite good. I recommend the chicken souvlaki in a pita. The fries were pretty good, and were certainly improved by the yummy, spicy, fry sauce.
