So happy we found this place when we were visiting SLC on a work trip. We were actually headed to lunch at a place around the corner when the patio caught our attention. The food smelled incredible and the patio was packed, so we pivoted and came here instead. You order at the counter and food comes out in about 15-20 minutes. We were very pleased with all the food and the staff was very kind! You really can't go wrong with any of the food options-- the bowls, wraps, and even the fries were all so good. No complaints from our table and we'll be back next time we're in town! read more

such a staple for me in SLC. I come here when I want something fast and delicious! I pretty much always get the bowls with either chicken or mixed me and it never disappointment! I am actually incredibly impressed with this place. I think that they have some of the best Mediterranean bowls available in the area. The portion sizes are amazing. I did come during the lunch rush so they were very friendly but definitely understaffed. It felt like we waited about 25 minutes to get our two bowls and fries. I would recommend coming here either 20 minutes before your usual lunchtime or 20 minutes after because once it slowed down their service improved. I absolutely love the bar top. I think it's a good vibe if you're having a casual lunch by yourself. And I like their beer offering also. read more

We tried the traditional lamb gyro, the lamb street wrap, and also sampled the falafel with hummus. Everything was excellent-flavorful and fresh. They do have an outdoor seating area; it's not very large, with space for about five tables, but it was enough for us to enjoy dinner outside. Placed a takeout order in person but could tell the service was great as they greeted me as soon as I walked in and provided good suggestions for ordering. I went with the Street Doner Wrap with mixed meats and a side of Loaded Sweet Potato Fries Berliner style. Both food portions were extremely friendly for the prices paid on the combo. I absolutely love Spitz. I think they do such a good job with just about everything. It is a counter service. The menu is so good with something for everyone. I went with a group today, and someone with us is gluten free. She really appreciated that there was a specific spot on the menu for gluten free items. She ended up ordering the gluten free remix bowl. She really liked the texture of the crispy garbanzos and loved the whole bowl overall. My husband got the street cart doner wrap and liked it. He got it with the beef and lamb. He liked the flavor on the meat but felt like the portion size could've been better. He got a Pilsner beer and thought it was good. I got the street cart fries with both kinds of fries. These are actually so so good! I think moving forward I would get just the sweet potatoes fries because I like those ones a lot more. The soda fountain is behind the counter which I didn't totally love, but you can go up and ask for as many refills as you'd like. Their Diet Coke brew was INCREDIBLE!! I had this delivered to my hotel by the airport through DoorDash. For being 5:30 on a Friday when I ordered I was happy to have it arrive in 40 minutes. This food was everything the reviews said. I was very impressed with the quality, taste and quantity. I started with a single order of the doquitos. Basically a gyro done as a taquito. Had I done the double order ad a side it would have been plenty for dinner. I next did the gyro with lamb and beef. Plenty of meat, veggies and cheese. A little light on the sauce but still flavorful. They were running a 2 for 1 special but one was all I could eat. In conclusion this was a great find for something simple in my room. Spitz has pioneered an upscale quick-service restaurant concept that combines the food quality, ambiance and customer service typically found in upscale dining with the price and speed most often associated with fast food. This means that nearly everything, from the kebab to the sauces is made daily in-house. The ambiance, from the music to the art, is unique and inspiring. History

Established in 2007.

Josh Hill and Tanner Slizeski have been dreaming about bringing the Döner kebab (pronounced duh-ner keh-bob) back to Utah for years. Both of them first experienced the deliciousness of the Döner while studying abroad in Europe, and seeing the success their childhood friend Bryce Rademan has had opening several Spitz locations around Los Angeles they knew that Utah needed the amazing combination of Döner kebab, fresh veggies, craft beer, unique mixed drinks and sangria that Spitz is famous for. Bryce and his business partner Robert Wicklund built the first European-style Doner Kebab restaurant in Los Angeles, and in so doing, they raised the bar on all upscale quick-service eateries. Josh and Tanner are proud to be bringing the Spitz concept and everything it stands for to Utah, and are determined to insure that the food quality, ambiance and customer service will never be sacrificed. Nearly everything is made in house daily and we'll rotate our taps and bottles weekly. Come in today!

Originally, I found Caputo's while looking for sandwich shops, but was very very happy when I found out they also offered charcuterie meats. We didn't end up getting any cheese bc of the drive, but did choose some fancy meats to bring home (black truffle salame & cabacero iberico), which were so delicious. As for the sandwiches, I went with The Caputo while my husband went with the Old School (alas I forgot to take a photo before he devoured it). The staff were efficient and our sandwiches were ready pretty quickly, even with a small lunch rush line. When I say The Caputo was one of the best Italian sandwiches I've ever had, I mean it. The veggies were delightfully fresh, the meats were aplenty, and the olive oil + balsamic was perfect without making the bread soggy. My husband also raved about his sandwich might I add. The staff were friendly, and there is a small seating area should you wish to enjoy your sandwiches next door. We also browsed around the market area and picked up some truffles and pasta flour so I could try my hand at making homemade pasta. There was so much to look at, it was like a treasure trove, but we had to be conscious of what we truly wanted to bring home vs what caught our eyes in the moment. Caputo's will definitely be one of our first stops the next time we visit SLC!

Hubby had half a Caputo Sandwich. Fountain drinks were $6!!!! There are no deli salads anymore in the sandwich shop nor in the grocery store section. All the grocery has is imported jars , hard pasta and meats. There is no longer any amazing smells of bread and spices like I've experienced in other I Italian delis and shops in many other cities. If you go there now instead of like in the "old days", which weren't so long ago. you might think it's ok but not anymore in my opinion. He described it as a sandwich with chopped-up cheeseburger fillings inside, and they use a lamb and beef patty instead of just beef. Right, he was. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich and the meat was spiced and slightly spicy, but nothing I couldn't handle. The sandwich was flavorful, and I'm impressed that the bread wasn't too thick because sometimes places serve sandwiches with way too much bread-to-filling ratio. The bread was also a nice texture, I'm glad it wasn't too toasty or crunchy like some sandwiches can get that rub the roof of my mouth raw. I felt like I had a well-balanced meal out of the Chopped Cheese. Flavor-packed meat, cheese, veggies, bread - that's all you need. The food was delicious, and I don't doubt that the rest of the items on the menu taste great, but the prices feel high, yes, even in this economy. I say this because I was able to finish this sandwich and still felt I had room to eat some more, perhaps a little snack. I almost always cannot comfortably finish my food in one sitting when dining out, so that was a sign to me that this wasn't all that much food, and I could tell from the get-go because the sandwich did look small.

We ended up tossing the dish, very sad:( We will give it another try for sure because of all the good reviews and we saw other people eating and enjoying their food from there.
