This is my husbands account but this is my experience as his wife. I went to the R&R BBQ in midvale on July 3rd I ordered $227.00 worth of food the day before. When I went to pay for my order online it wouldn't accept the $200 worth of gift cards that I had purchased specifically for this meal from Costco. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my order the girl who was helping me said she didn't know how to credit my credit card and charge the gift cards I asked to speak to a manager she said she would go talk to him she came back and said that they couldn't do it I asked to speak specifically to the manager he (Justin) came up and told me that he wasn't able to credit my card and use the gift cards. He then told me that he could do the transaction but it would take 20 minutes I could tell from his tone he didn't want to do it. I took the food to my car went back in with the receipt and told him I would like him to do the transaction and he refused he told me that he and his employees were laughing at me. I asked who his superiors were he told me there wasn't any he said it wasn't a franchise and told me if I didn't leave he was going to call the police I never raised my voice no one else in the restaurant knew what was going on. SO INCONSISTENT! This place is definitely going downhill -- which makes me so sad. It's a more expensive dining option, and the quality is never the same from visit to visit. Our last visit was AWFUL. We went at 8:06 pm -- they don't close until 10 pm and when you walk in it shouldn't look like they closed at 8 pm. Everything taken down, food like it's been in the warmer for hours. The pork was SO dry & not good. (I wish I had taken the lid off my mac & cheese, so you could see the quality of that too, but you can kind of tell through the lid.) We used to frequent this location 2 to 3 times a month, but due to the quality don't go very often. When we decide to give it a chance again we are usually disappointed. read more

UPDATE: I sent an email to R&R BBQ, like the company had told me, but never received a response. Fast service for the lunch time rush. Our table wasn't the most clean table, but we had somewhere to sit. I had the burrito with brisket. For the price, I would have expected more brisket. The burrito fell short based on the price and the amount of meat in it. The crispy fries and cabbage were a nice addition to the burrito. The tomatillo salsa stole the show and was my favorite. R &R BBQ never disappoints! I try something different every time we go. Can honestly say every meal has been so flavorful. The pricing is totally worth it. My favorite so far is the brisket sandwich added coleslaw and extra pickles. The French fries were super crispy too. Spicy BBQ is my go to for the sauce. read more

I can't not begin to say how rude the girl w the pink and black hair at the register was. she snapped at me when I asked for corn and she said it's out and gave me the rudest look and she kept talking over us and wouldn't let my husband and I finish what we were trying to order. she didn't smile once she LITERALLY was glaring the whole time and her tone when talking was so unbelievably rude. you are supposed to have a good attitude and greet ppl with a smile and she was so freaking rude I literally wanted to just leave based on her attitude and service. The food was great five stars. The staff, was a mixed bag. The cashier, was great she knew everything, and was very helpful. The other stuff that I could see, was standing around doing nothing. Justin was by far the rudest person I've ever encountered at any Salt Lake City establishment. I told him the ribs were very small and dry and not R&R standard and he very condescending and rudely laughed at me and told me he doesn't have control of the size of the pig, which is so insulting to say to a customer with any common sense. Such a demeaning person and it went downhill from there with him and his other staff members being rude and insulting. I will never come back to this location because it's the worst. Downtown and South Jordan are spectacular locations but the Fort Union location lacks any respect and leadership. R&R in South Jordan used to be our go-to BBQ place. But we've lately been very disappointed with the one on 7200 S 700 W. Two visits ago, we ordered a two-meat platter to go, and when we got home we had just one meat. I sent an email to R&R but never received a reply. Today we ordered a two-meat chicken and brisket. The brisket cost an extra $2.50, but it was at least 1/3 fat. No exaggeration. The beans were also very soupy with very few beans. I wondered if they were left over from the day before, and there just weren't many beans left in the pot. We have three more gift cards that we bought at Costco, but when they are used up, we will be looking for a new BBQ favorite. Thanks, Ethan for your reply. 1. We thought we had ordered sliced brisket, but this wouldn't be the first mixed-up order. 2. Don, the owner of one of our favorite BBQ joints in Castroville, CA, (he has since retired) told us he couldn't stay in business if his brisket was fatty. I've considered that a benchmark. 3. I've smoked quite a lot of brisket, and except for the slab of fat on the top that I always discard after smoking, the meat is always very lean. I should add that i ordered online to save time, and then I waited in line at least 20 minutes while the sole takeout clerk prepared a very large order (it was Father's Day) while the other checker stood around with nothing to do. An Uber Eats driver was able to step in and get his order immediately from the same cabinet where my order was waiting. Is there not a single good location for this chain anymore? Once in awhile I give this chain another try knowing it is no longer the great bbq since the expansion and the brothers leaving. But this is just dismal. Starts off with the lackluster order taker who clearly doesn't want to work, I get it, help is hard to find. I know your food rarely ever looks like in the picture but when it says it has x toppings, at least put them on. In the screenshot from their menu, mine was missing the bacon bits, green onion, and cheese. Well at least they didn't forget the uncharged brisket (+2) but it was all the fatty bits apparently. Seriously, I enjoy the baked potato from Sizzler more than the one I just had from these guys. I know things change and while it no longer says in the description, the peach cobbler no longer comes with ice cream as depicted in the photo. This once great bbq is no better than the National "D" bbq places. This has run its course and time to close up shop cause for the price and quality of food, go spend you bbq dollars somewhere else. read more

We call in for pick-up quite often and if they tell us that in 15 minutes it will be ready to pick-up...its ready everytime...alot of times if they say ready in 15 its ready in 10, or they say ready in 20 and its ready in 15. Another thing is my son loves sauces and you can get as much as you want. Even on the ones you cant just help yourself to such as the ranch or like the green tomatillo sauce for the tacos or burritos, my son will be like "Oh and I need 6 ranch sauces and 5 green sauce and they wont fuss or be skimpy about it like alot of places...they will grab them and put them in your bag for you never a hassle. That just happens to be one of those things that "urks" both myself, and my family, is when you go somewhere and spend money and say you get a burrito or whatever and you would like to enjoy it with some tomatillo sauce and a ranch and the people are like I'll have to charge you for that or you can only have one per item and they give you a little container that's a quarter of the way full and it's literally enough for like one bite of your burrito.!?! That's not the case here and that's one of the things that I really love about aside from the great food is the fact that you can get the sauces that you enjoy and like to eat with the food that you just purchased with no fussing or extra charges or little petty rules like one per item if you want 10 ranches they'll hand you 10 ranches no questions asked and they put them in the bag. Overall disappointed with R&R. The brisket was quite dry and the worst of my 3-meat combo. Ribs were just okay, definitely not "fall off the bone" nor meaty. I typically consider pulled pork to be one of my least favorite BBQ meats but it was the better of the 3. However, their nachos for were pretty good especially given the price. We usually grab baked potatoes on Wednesdays here for the lunch special. Today mine came with a added bonus of what im hoping is only a beard hair. Sadly the potatoes were also a little overcooked than usual. I hope some hair nets and beard nets become standard uniform so no one else gets a lucky hair in their food.
