Ambiance - casual, great for 2 people & family, neighborhood gem that offers Chinese breakfast Service - speedy, food came out quickly, staff was also super nice Food - love their jasmine tea that they provide to all the customers, congee texture on the thicker side but super flavorful, love their variety of dim sum options Highly recommend their soymilk!

Wing Yip is a neighborhood Chinese restaurant that caters to early risers for a tasty Chinese breakfast. I really enjoyed the chicken and mushroom rice combo as well as the braised pork knuckle rice combo. Their Jasmine tea is very fragrant and a delight to drink. Their steamed rice in a clay pot is also much more tasty than rice served in other Chinese restaurants.

Don't let the size of the store fool you as this place is always packed with people inside and out. If you are lucky to get a table, you are lucky. I been here a few times and I never got to sit right away. There menu is straight forward as all the dishes have pictures for dim sum. The food is fresh and always tasty. Prices are average for dim sum compared to other places in Chinatown. The soups are have very fragrant aroma and taste very good with the noodles. I highly recommend and free parking. Cash or card is the same.

Was in the neighborhood and decided to try this place out for some lunch takeout. This place is like your usual typical americanized chinese restaurant but with some added Chinese regional dishes/spice/style. For the starter, we got the chicken wings. It was nice and crispy. They packed it with the top open in a brown paper bag so the wings stay crispy during the trip home. Thumbs up on that. Also the wings were not dry! It was cooked thru and juicy. Very impressed by the care and extra steps they took to keep it good. From the lunch specials, we got the Orange chicken and it came with chicken fried rice. Both were pretty tasty and the orange sauce was pretty good. The chicken fried rice was pretty good as well. It also came with a fried egg roll. Didnt even eat it cause the portion was pretty big and we could not finish it all. Yay for left overs. The other dish we got was the Singapore Thin Noodles. This dish was really enjoyable. It was not dry nor overly wet. The noodles were nice and long and I could twirl it well on my fork. The taste was good. I'd definitely come back again for this. Overall this is a pretty good take out place. Price to portion, this place is very good to come back to eat at. Definitely worth it. Can't wait to try what their other dishes are like.

Wing Yip has been under new ownership for a couple years now. The food is just as good, if not better and service has improved. I'm risk adverse when it comes to Chinese food and typically stick with the Americanized stuff like Orange, Sesame or General Tso's Chicken. One of my foodie resolutions is to veer off the basic Americanized path in 2018. In the meantime, I'll keep Wing Yip in mind whenever I'm in the area. Not work a special trip, but a good option all the same.

This place is under new owners. Great new look Very nice dining area The staff is very nice. The food is very good and fresh The prices are still affordable and so much more to chose from on the menu. You can now place orders for delivery and you can now use your debit card. Sorry to see the old family go but I think the new owner's are going to do very well.

My favorite spicy egg roll and a pineapple crush....

MingHin was packed, loud, and a little chaotic. Worth it. Dim sum is an experience as much as a meal and MingHin delivers on both fronts. We ordered more than we could keep track of. Soup dumplings that immediately became the kids' personal obsession. Shu mai that hit every time. BBQ pork buns in every form they offered because obviously. Chinese broccoli to balance out the indulgence. Everything was solid, fresh, and exactly what you want from a dim sum spread. The room was packed and buzzing but the service kept up impressively. Servers were constantly circling, clearing empty plates and dishes without missing a beat. Clean and attentive even at full capacity, which is no small thing. Fair warning if you are bringing little ones: this environment is a lot. The noise, the crowd, the overwhelming parade of food arriving at the table. Our kids loved what they ate but the sensory experience was a bit much for them. This is a place better suited for a group of adventurous adults or older kids who thrive in high energy environments. Prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. A Chinatown institution for good reason. Just know what you are walking into and embrace it fully.

This is a fantastic place for larger groups, and they're very accommodating when it comes to splitting checks. The food comes out quickly, the atmosphere is lively, and there's plenty of variety for everyone. If you're in the area near Joy Yee, MingHin is definitely worth a visit!

I went with someone who knows the city well, and they recommended the duck fried rice. I had never tried it before, and it was absolutely delicious so flavorful and satisfying. The prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food, and I'm already looking forward to bringing my friends and family here next time. This is a tough one. Not happy at all. With all of the wonderful legendary Chinese places closing…read moreover the past few years (Kow Kow, Hong Min, Pekin House, and even the best egg rolls at Mee Mah), Sun Wah has been solid over the years- their whole duck is legendary and incredible. BUT, as wonderful as the food is, the last 5 visits have been dreadful. The angry waitresses are part of the deal, but when we're spending a few hundred bucks on dinner, enough is enough. Asking for extra sauce and being told NO- asking for extra bao wrappers and being told NO, asking for extra daikon for the duck when we're given a half full dish in the first place in unacceptable. And like I said, that's part of the deal. And the food is so good that you put up with it. But what happened last week was the last straw. We ordered egg rolls, 2 large dumpling soups, pot stickers, a whole duck, medium ribs, sweet and sour chicken, and for an appetizer, a medium BBQ pork. When the server brought the pork, first, it was cold. I guess that's also the deal. Sometimes it's hot, sometimes totally cold. But this time, and I'm not exaggerating, more than half of the order was pure white fat. Not fatty pork, white solid fat. we tried chewing git to see if there was any meat, but no. So, I finally got the servers attention and showed her. She looked at it, and then walked away. I assumed she was going to bring us a new order. Instead, the owner walked over. I showed her the 2 plates- 1 plate with half of the solid white fat, and the other plate with chewed up fat pieces. Instead of apologizing and bringing over a new order, she said "sometimes the pigs we get are very fatty". So I replied something like "sure I get that, but you can't serve this to customers" and " can you please bring us a new order of actual pork and not just a plate of fat"??? and she then looks down at both plates and says "you already ate it so we can't do anything. I tell her that, no, I didn't eat anything- you can see a plate with chewed up and spit out fat, but she literally WALKS AWAY. So then of course we wait for her to bring a new order over, but that never happens. And we're loyal customers for many many years, and she knows us. This extreme lack of care for your longtime customers is nauseating. Like I said, we've put up with it for years because we love the food (as well as putting up with the many health code violations over the years), but after this huge fuck you from the owner over a few bucks worth of pork? We're done. And our friends are done. This rude pathetic refusal to admit that you're serving inedible food and take care of your loyal customers with a few dollars in pork will now cost you THOUSANDS of dollars every year, because we have now told 20 of our friends to stop going, and they all agreed with us. Bad move Momma SunWah..........

The vibes were chill with pop music playing in the background. Service was solid. Our server was knowledgeable, explained the menu well, and answered questions without rushing us. The Pork & Chive Dumplings tasted like something my mom would make at home. The broth they sit in adds a lot of flavor and makes the dish even better. My only nitpick is that I personally prefer a thicker, chewier dumpling wrapper. The Dan Dan Noodles were the standout. Creamy, nutty, crunchy from the peanuts, packed with flavor, and not overly spicy. It was my first time trying dan dan noodles and now I totally understand the hype. 8/10. The Xian Bing took about 25 minutes to come out, which makes sense since they're made fresh. The lamb filling was flavorful and the outside was super crispy, almost like a scallion pancake. The bread itself was softer and thicker than I expected and could've used a little more flavor. Overall, this felt like authentic, comforting food that leaves you completely satisfied when you walk out. Next time I'd absolutely order the Dan Dan Noodles again and try the beef noodles, scallion pancakes, and beef dumplings.

A few dishes, like the Duck Fried Rice, Pork Belly, and Beef Noodle Soup, were actually pretty solid. But the rest of the night was just so frustrating that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The Jiaozi were the first big letdown. The menu said they were beef short rib and bone marrow, but they didn't taste like that at all. The filling was just super mushy and the flavor was just weird. The manager and the food runner were nice when we mentioned it, but our actual server was a disaster. When we tried the Goat Noodles, all we could taste was cumin. It was so overwhelming that it covered up everything else. We couldn't even tell if there was actually any goat shoulder in there. When we told our waiter, she couldn't care less. She got totally defensive, wouldn't even listen to us, and just said, "Oh, I told you when you ordered that the dish is cumin forward" and walked away. It got worse when the bill came. She was holding on to the payment machine so hard and almost yanked it right out of my friend's hand. She was staring at it to see what we were tipping. It was so awkward and incredibly rude. No thank you, no nothing. She just grabbed it and left. The place has potential, but they really need to fix the food and retrain the staff. A cool vibe doesn't make up for bad food and awful service.
