I really like this place. The service from calling Denise to picking the product to having it installed is nothing less than A-Plus service. There were times when my cleaning person messed up my new window and soon as I called windows we are, within two days they were at my house fixing it. Even though it was the cleaning person's fault, they did not charge me because it was an easy fix for them even though they could have charged me I had them install windows for my other building and recommended them to a few of my friends. Not sure how they make money by being rude to their customers. I can dish it out just like you can. Want to know where I live before they can tell me if they can secure the products I need. Why do you need to know where I live if you can't install the doors I'm looking for? Second and last time I call this place. First time dude tells me they don't install, they sell. Trying to sell me over priced storm doors. Gave me a quote but told me he couldn't install it. I place another call today about a different type of door to be customized and someone else says they can customize and install but wanted to know where I lived to see if I was "good enough for him!" As others have reported, these guys are allergic to making money. Called them to find out about window replacement. Girl on the phone took down my info and said they'll call back. Confirmed all my info, and reassured me after I raised concern. Obviously, I didn't get a call back. Called them the following day and spoke to a dude. He again took down my info and asked to email him pics/measurements/address and said he'll get back to me the following day with an estimate. Even flexed about how they can give an estimate via email and don't need to show up in person. Sent a very descriptive email. It's been a week and I'm expecting an estimate in neveruary. I will admit that these guys aren't always "highly responsive" to voicemail, etc. but it's honestly because they are so busy doing quality work. Our building management uses these guys for our standard "Brooklyn apartment building" casement windows. All in all, I paid $125 per window for the better model that includes an automatic lock latch on the base of the window frame itself. They are nice and SUPER CLEAR! Our old windows had lost their seal so they were foggy inside and couldn't be cleaned all the way. These newer model windows are amazing clear and tight. See my before and after photos. Mike and his work partner did an amazing job and completed all of the windows in our apartment (7) in about 5 or 6 hours. Mike was amazing at getting this done and even removed a heavy air conditioner without my help. I would highly recommend them...but order early...be patient...and allow for some lead time for your job. In the end you will be very happy. read more

Installation of the window itself was done very well. Window quality was very good. Unfortunately the people doing the installation damaged something in my home--thankfully nothing major. The installers were careless, placing tools on top of something which ended up with deep scratches which cannot be repaired. Don't do business with them! Not very honest, bullying, and over-priced. I put a deposit down on windows, but when I realized they weren't going to be there for 4 months, which put it after the winter was over, I wanted to cancel. This was three weeks after the deposit. I notified the credit card (AE) who stated that they must refund the money unless they have a stated policy expressly stating that they don't allow for cancellations. Still, Windows We Are are refusing to refund my money. It has now been 4 weeks after the deposit. In addition, and after I informed them that I wanted to cancel, I did some (admittedly, belated) research and found that they were charging about 40% more than others. They told me it costs $400 per window to have it black on one side and white on the other. I called the window manufacturer directly (twice) and was told that was not true. WWA also told me that their model was superior to the one sold at Lowes. Again, the manufacturer said not true. In my email exchanges with Windows We Are, the salesman has been bullying: his response to my statement that I was filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau elicited this, "You are now threatening me. Who do you think you are?" Not the kind of people you want to do business with. read more

I was told they were busy with customers. What am I? Repeated calls resulted in the same promises. You can't trust a company that promises and never delivers and keeps lying. Pricing, service, and availability....these folks are tops in all areas. We recently had 7x windows replaced. WWA had the glass in stock and installed them according to our scheduling needs...despite their service team being overwhelmed. Jose and Alberto arrived promptly and professionally replaced all 7x windows. Jason, the project manager, was in regular communication with me and called afterwards to confirm status. BTW, supply chain challenges have impacted WWA and similar businesses SIGNIFICANTLY. My business has been impacted as well...and from personal experience...I know that deliveries from overseas are highly unpredictable. That said, if you need windows replaced....the whole window or just the glass....these folks are ready to serve!!! read more

I ordered a special order sized door from Windows We Are. I originally ordered with Ernie but things took a wrong turn. Evidently, they got a call from the manufacturer who called WWA to confirm the order but evidently, no one in the office relayed the info to Ernie. So I was sitting around for weeks thinking my order was on the way. I was told turnaround time was about 6 weeks originally. When I called to check the order status Ernie just gave me the story without really being apologetic. I asked him was there anything WWA would do to compensate for my loss of time since this threw off my install time. He said they couldn't do anything but make the order. At this point, I was pissed and decided to deal with someone else in order to have things rectified. I ended up calling and speaking with Jimmy who was much better at handling the situation. I may order from them again in the future but just stay clear of the guys who don't have good customer service skills. read more

Terrible customer service. They made a ton of mistakes installing the windows and never followed up to replace or fix. They don't keep appointments, reply to emails or do basic customer service. Once they install the windows anything that was incorrectly installed you will have to constantly chase them to fix. Bad experience all the way around. read more

Windows installed with holes in the screens and caulk marks all over the windows...had to have repairs done only a few days after installation. Two weeks after installation the spring on the screen broke the first time I tried to open it. Customer service has been unresponsive about this issue. One of the WORST experiences I've had as a homeowner and that says a lot in NYC. We brought them out to measure windows and a door and got the quote back. We decided to give them the door alone as a test...seriously, thank god we didn't give them a window deposit. The door was supposed to be installed in June. They rescheduled twice and it was FINALLY installed two weeks ago so THREE MONTHS LATE. Not that they called us to reschedule...we would call them to confirm appointments and they would tell us the door was damaged in shipping, not once but three times. Then, they didn't bring the plate to install on the floor and were supposed to come back a few days later. They didn't show up on the day they were scheduled but did show up two days after that without scheduling, calling, emailing...nothing. They called the hubs and said they were outside and he told them there was no appointment and he wasn't coming home for their inconsiderate asses. They were supposed to come today and, guess what? Yep, they didn't show. Our only recourse is that we haven't paid them the balance yet and we won't until the job is completely done. Completely unprofessional and I will be reporting them to the BBB. Literally, save your time, money, aggravation and go elsewhere. These clowns don't deserve it. read more

I cant believe I allowed this outfit of clowns into my apt. First they smash one of our lamps upstairs. They didn't use any drop cloths to protect our furniture (something they promised they WOULD do). They put a huge gouge in our brand new leather couch. There was dust and debris all over our bed. They tried to steal one of my drop cloths that I had to bring out since they had none. How they thought it was theirs when they hadn't brought a single one, I don't know. And lastly, I have a pet who stays hidden when there are things going on; construction, painting, etc. I only ask the workers keep the doors closed so he doesn't escape/run away. Well they left every door in the building open and it took me hours to locate him afterwards since he had wedged himself into the smallest crawl space possible in the basement. I definitely wanted better than the basic vinyl windows. They sent a person to inspect and measure. Got the quote. I didn't like the window they proposed. Went back and spoke to the owner. Discussed their Jeld-Wen windows. I was ready to do it. Never heard back. I live so close to the store, I figured it would be easy. Windows We Are didn't sell Andersen windows. Went to Home Depot and purchased Andersen 400 windows. The project was measured, ordered and installed in five weeks. My new windows were great. I really wanted to give the local store my business. Guess Windows We Are has too much business and can turn away $14,000 in business. They were nice enough, but nice and insincere isn't the type of business I want to work with. read more

They came to measure and clearly explained all the options, and recommended the new windows that would be best for us (not the most expensive, but the best). The windows we had were old and cheap and poorly-installed, so it was not an easy job, but they showed up on time, were polite and friendly, and seemed to take real pride in doing the work carefully and completing it neatly. They used dropcloths, moved furniture as needed (even removed an air conditioner, although they warned us they couldn't put it back in), and cleaned up nicely. Very reliable, high-quality work. The removed and installed seven windows in the front of our home. They also replaced the framing and moulding and even installed some baseboard moulding that we needed installed. They did a great job and were very clean. No complaints at all. I also appreciated that they wore masks the whole time being that I'm pregnant and was concerned about COVID-19. Let me start off my saying that I have never worked with them to do the job. That is because they never returned my call for a scheduled appointment. I spoke to the receptionist who was very pleasant and she scheduled an appointment with another person who never returned a call. I was very annoyed. Our experience with Windows We Are was excellent from beginning to end. Bruce was our estimator. He was very professional and responsive to all follow up phone calls and emails. The installers were highly skilled, quick and the team worked very efficiently- like a well oiled machine. We have two young children who were home during the installation.
