IMHO the best. They showed up on time, did all the work perfectly well, cleaned up, and were terrific. Their pricing approach is 60% of competitors (I go their price and then went to others and came back). And they do a *free facetime video estimate*, as opposed to competitors that charge you $250 to just come to your place to estimate the work. Had them fix the balances and alignment of a few different windows in our apartment. Techs were quick, effective and respectful of our personal space. It was on the higher side compared to having a handyman do it but it was done very well. It was about $1,000 to fix five alumnium windows. Only complaint was that it took 3-4 weeks from the first call to the appointment - the company is a little bureaucratic and wanted to get a deposit before they would give me an appointment for a straightforward window repair. read more

My first appointment with Master Windows was virtual on video conference with Alberto. He was quick to identify the type of windows and what material required to repair the 3 windows. Shortly after he came to take measurement in June. Unfortunately due to resources shortage during pandemic, the sash and balances take 3 months to be available. The company has provided me a very clear and concise invoice with the work detail. Both Cynthia and Janet were very patient with all my questions on the phone. On the day of installation, the team of Victor and Juan called me 20 mins ahead of time so I could prepare . As soon as they arrived, Juan prepared shoe covers to wear before entering the premise. Juan carried in all the tool bags and laid down mat to ensure cleanliness. Window mechanic Victor did a very careful and clean job. He made sure I have checked what he has installed as new and what was replaced. Both of them were patient to answer all my questions during the installation. I am pleased with their work so far from assessment, to invoicing and installation. I give Master Window Repair the highest rating. I have used them two times to fix windows. They were efficient, responsive and fair in the cost. For example, they did not unnecessarily send staff out to look at the problem and create an estimate but instead we went over the problem on FaceTime. They then took measurements in person and finally came to fix the window. They were punctual and quickly repaired the the effected window. Glass ok, fine details and customer service lacking Living room windows had condensation between panes which needed to be replaced. Contacted Master Window Repair based on Yelp and Google reviews. Communication, virtual consultation with Alberto, estimate and scheduling of the job were timely and fine PRIOR to the work being done. The glass itself looks ok; however, the finishing details and customer service once the job was complete are lacking.  There is a rubber portion that goes around the glass and should be tucked into the frame. On all the windows the rubber was cut too short / doesn't fit properly so there is a gap on the corners of the windows where it should be flush without having any of the window frame exposed. I tried pushing it in, but the rubber isn't pliable. Not sure if this will affect the durability of the windows over time. Contacted the shop twice, sent pictures and description of the issue; it has been over a week, still have not heard back - radio silence. Communication was fine up until this point. Poor customer service when a business fails to respond to a customer once a job is finished.  I like to support smaller businesses. I have other windows which need replacing, but won't use or recommend a company who doesn't provide good customer service or stand behind its work.  Also, I paid for the job in cash. Customers have the option to pay by card or pay with cash and get a small discount. I wish I had paid with credit card because there is no recourse now. read more

My experience with Master Window Repair was excellent. They were very professional. I moved into a new apartment at the end of winter and realized that there was something wrong with the bedroom window because it was freezing! Alberto did a facetime to check it out, then for a COVID safe in person inspection to take measurements. Turns out the whole window needed to be replaced. They were honest at the start that the new window would take time to be made, which was fine (I needed it fixed before the next winter) and they gave me tips on what I could do in the meantime to keep the heat in a bit. The installation team was excellent. I had to work/be on zoom calls while they were there, and they just went about their work. They were very good about talking to me when needed and letting me know what was going on. The proof will come in winter, but until then it seems like they have done a great job! Definitely would say these guys were quick, professional and very reasonably priced. I had five windows that didn't open or close right. The window people my building use would've cost almost twice as much and they have a very low Yelp rating. Based on the Yelp rating for Master Window, I decided to try them. I had to wait two weeks to get the appt for the estimate, but once that happened, it was easy to schedule the actual appt for the fixes. They call the day before to confirm and then right before the technician comes over. Both times the guy was right on time. They did the work very quickly and my windows are like new. Only reason I can't give five stars is they broke a piece off some very expensive wooden shades I have and to get it fixed correctly will be a pain in the neck. The total cost of fixing my windows was 148 dollars, which I thought was very fair and reasonable. Master window repair was recommended to me by a property management company that i do a lot of work for. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate to repair some windows. They gave me an appointment window from 1-5pm. No problem. Call me 30 minutes in advance to let me know your on the way. The tech calls me at 1215 saying he's on his way. I said I'll be there by 1pm. I'm still working. Tech calls me at 1240 and says he's there. I was on my way and said I'd be arriving by 1. My window was 1-5pm. He rudely replied that if I wasn't there in 5 minutes he was leaving. I called the office and explained what had just happened. They were surprised because the tech was actually one of the business owners. This is the place you need to go for those oh so unpleasant "I can't fix it myself" moments. I have a land lady that refuses to fix anything in the apartment and during hurricane sandy one of my windows started to crack worse than an elderly upper east side Waverly to far away from her botox. I called, they came, gave me a more than fair estimate ($140 for a fairly large window), and setup a date to come back to do the repair a week later. Not only did they show up on time, they broke it down and cleaned it up and took the card. After calling several other shiesty places I was amazed not only at the professional manner but also the price and fine oiled efficiency as well. I had been looking to install window screens in my apartment forever and finally came around to it this summer. My buidling had contracted a company to do it for all apartments last summer, but for some reason or otehr missed that boat. Yet thought i would give the company a call as they may still have been offering a better price for tenants of a prior "customer". Not so, hence i started looking in Yelp for reviews of companies that did the work I called Master Window Repair who were very prompt in scheduling a free appointment for measurements. They are very accommodating to schedules and inconveniences, even when I was clearly at fault. I had to re-schedule the appointment due to unprecedented travel within the 24 hour window that MWR requires for re-scheduling. They very accommodating to not have me incur extra charges due to the fact that it was fairly close to the 24 hours they require and I was also trying to accommodate the schedule if possible. I had also forgotten to ask them for the insurance paperwork that my buidling requires (yes, I was abit of a nightmare customer) and they had to rush to get the paperwork so that the work could be done at the time of the appointment The actual work came out great. The quality of the screen is wonderful (barely visible unless very close) and the service provided throughout the whole process was very professional. One of my bay window panes was damaged after last summer's hail storm that hit the New Hyde Park/Floral Park areas. I've spent countless hours looking for a window repair company that would just replace the broken pane. Unfortunately all of the places I called (i.e. Anderson Renewal) or was referred to would rather sell you a new entire bay window than replace just the broken pane. After searching yelp.com, I found the Master Window Repair company. They gave me a reasonable estimate (on Monday) and replace my broken pane in less than 30 minutes (on Thursday of the same week). I should also mention that their customer service was very attentive and nice. I hope there will never be another hail storm to hit my neighborhood again. I have been using Master Windows Repair for a few years already. They are very reliable and the technicians show up on time and they do a great job. So this time, the circumstances were different: we are in Covid-19 pandemic and it's summer. But the technitians followed the rules: they wore face mask the whole time, despite the humid and hot weather. We didn't have working A/C, so wearing a face mask was unbearable.
