A&J Window repair is one window repair company that you MUST use if you need window repairs. I live at 650 Victory Blvd in Staten Island. I moved into my apartment in April of 2017. My breakfast room window, which is next to the fire escape, has been broken since the day I moved into the apartment. The super tried to fix it over the 6 years that I've lived here; however, it remained broken and dangerous. Fortunately, Altin and Egli, who are employed by A&J, came today and fixed my window. They even went throughout the apartment, checking all of the other windows to make sure there were no other issues. Altin and Egli were kind, respectful, professional and efficient. Their boss, Reggie, who owns A&J called to check to make sure I was satisfied. A&J Window Repair is EXCELLENT. A must for anyone who has window repair issues. Dr. Ramona Brockett read more

I GAVE THEM MULTIPLE CHANCES. BIG MISTAKE. I normally give small businesses a lot of grace. In this case, I gave far too much. **5/9/26: UPDATE - SEE SCREENSHOT OF ILONA GUMENYUK'S 5/8/26 EMAIL CONFIRMING REGGIE ARRIVING TO DISTRIBUTE REFUNDS AND REPLACE MY SCREENS -- NONE OF WHICH HAPPENED. AND NOT A WORD FROM ANYONE.** I hired Reggie Villa / A&J Window and Glass to create custom window screens and a balcony screen solution for my apartment. Based on my recommendation, two neighbors also hired him and paid deposits as well. What followed was weeks of missed appointments, repeated promises to "check with the factory and call me back within the hour," long stretches of no communication, repeated promises that things would be ready "next week," and eventually requests for refunds that never materialized. As delays continued, Ilona Gumenyuk repeatedly communicated on the company's behalf regarding scheduling, refunds, and assurances that replacement materials and payments were forthcoming. When Reggie finally arrived to install my window screens, he showed up hours late with screens that were several inches too short and did not fit properly (see photo). Instead of acknowledging the issue, he attempted to explain the large visible gaps as intentional. One screen had to literally be hammered into place. Even after this, I still allowed myself to believe repeated assurances that properly fitted replacement screens and refunds were finally coming. They weren't. Since then, the two neighbors I referred have filed complaints with the Office of the New York State Attorney General Consumer Frauds Bureau, the Better Business Bureau, and local law enforcement. It is also worth noting that the company's Google Business Profile now appears as "Permanently Closed," despite the company continuing to communicate with customers and schedule supposed future work. As a result, customers can no longer post new Google reviews. I strongly encourage anyone considering this company to read the prior detailed negative reviews carefully. I wish I had. read more

We ordered and paid for several pet-safe screens for our windows and sliding doors. They cancelled the first appointment. We rescheduled, and then they didn't show up for the next one, nor the next one, an so on. This happened around 12 times over a period of two months! Eventually, the office administrator gave me the direct phone number for her boss, Reggie, because even she couldn't get hold of him anymore. Every time there was a different excuse: he was "driving back from Florida," dealing with "an emergency with an employee in Florida," had to leave "for Florida," and so on. There was always another excuse. One day, his crew finally showed up and installed some of the window screens. However, they had to wait six hours for him to arrive to bring the material. Then we discovered that several of the screens didn't fit because he had measured them incorrectly. None of the large sliding door screens were even ready. Eventually, I'd had enough and demanded a refund for the unfinished work and the screens we never received. He promised again that he would come and complete the installation, even confirming it by email, but he never showed up. He repeated this two more times. Finally, I told him I was done and wanted our money back. His response was to hang up on me! And now, it shows that their business is "permanently closed" and I'm left to figure out how I'll get a refund from them! read more

Scam artist. Brought the wrong windows and then did not refund the payment. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THEM

A&J Windows - My Final Experience AVOID AT ALL COSTS... I've been a loyal customer and have referred A&J Windows to countless others. Sadly, after repeated recent experiences, I can say with certainty: I will never use them again. This is not an angry rant--it's a careful, factual account of a company that has crossed the line from incompetence to outright deception. Communication & Professionalism Getting in touch with them is nearly impossible. Dozens of calls and emails go ignored. When Reggie finally responds, it's with a new excuse, never accountability. This isn't a one-off--it's the norm. Issue #1 - Misuse of Funds / Nothing Delivered On a $16,000 skylight job, their supplier confirmed that A&J never even ordered the product--despite Reggie telling me countless times, "I'll install tomorrow." Meanwhile, they charged me more than 100% of the contract total and delivered absolutely nothing I paid for. This is not a misunderstanding--it's a Trust Fund Violation and fraud, plain and simple. Issue #2 - Seven No-Shows with an Open Roof After cutting open the roof, they cancelled seven separate times, often the morning of the supposed install--always insisting, "Tomorrow without fail." But no skylight had ever been ordered. My crew had to patch and reopen the roof six separate times (4+ hours labor each) to prevent water damage. This rippled across the project, holding up roofers, framers, Sheetrock, stair installers, and landscapers--delaying us by more than two months. Issue #3 - Bait & Switch on Materials On another project, they showed up with cheap spray-painted vinyl windows instead of the bronze aluminum specified in our signed contract. When I refused delivery, Reggie claimed I had "approved vinyl in person"--a blatant lie. As someone who has despised vinyl windows for 15+ years, there is no scenario in which I would ever have agreed to that substitution. Issue #4 - Referrals Burned A client I referred reported a nearly identical story: upfront payment demands, subpar workmanship, and refusal to fix mistakes. That reflects directly on me--and I deeply regret ever recommending them. Bottom Line For nine months I've pursued reimbursement, with nothing but stall tactics. My conclusion is unavoidable: * Unethical in their practices * Untrustworthy in their promises * Fraudulent in their handling of funds If you value your project, your budget, or your sanity--stay away. read more

First Yelp review ever. Stay away. Unreliable. They insisted on coming for an in-person estimate vs offering a ballpark on Yelp like every other company. At first, this seemed like a good thing and that they were being exact and precise in their work. So I took the afternoon off and arranged to have them come to my apt the following week. On the day they were supposed to come by, I received a call 2 hours before they were due, telling me they wouldn't be able to make it that day. At first, I thought, ok, emergencies occur. But the reason I was given was that the owner decided to pull the guy doing my estimate off the job so he could help the owner move his office. I asked why I wasn't contacted earlier to reschedule, before taking a half day. The response was that they just found out about this! WHAT??? Did the owner decide to pick up and move offices on a whim?? Makes no sense at all. Zero regard for other people's time and inconvenience. On the plus side, this experience saved me from having to deal with more nonsense further down the line. read more

Avoid at all costs. I have had the same experience others with the low ratings have had with this company. They will schedule the service and show up immediately. However the leaks continue and getting them to come back is truly a challenge. I finally managed to get in touch with Alana and eventually Jessie cane back but there continues to be a leak. Do NOT TRUST! They will overcharge you and deliver low to no quality. read more

WARNING: Unlicensed Contractor, Fraudulent Practices, and Physical Threats I hired AJ Windows Inc. (1629 Bath Ave, Brooklyn), also operating as AJ Window and Glass (7106 20th Ave, Brooklyn), to repair and replace six windows. The experience has been a complete nightmare. Consumers must be aware that this company is not licensed by the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP). Furthermore, the lead installer, who identifies himself only as "Mr. Reggie," refuses to disclose his legal surname--a major red flag regarding accountability. Work Quality & Fraudulent Misrepresentation: The project was defined by excessive delays and constant "no-shows." The overall quality is substandard: windows are improperly sealed, caulking is inadequate, and the molding/painting was done haphazardly by unskilled labor. My walls were damaged, and debris, garbage, and chemicals (solvents, paints) were left scattered throughout the rooms. Most significantly, I have uncovered evidence of fraud. Regarding a custom-built, horizontally split window promised in our contract: Mr. Reggie arrived three months late and installed an old, used, painted-over window that was incorrectly sized for the frame. A massive gap now allows cold air to gush into the room. The presence of an old "half-lock" on the unit confirms this was not a new window as represented. This is a clear case of fraud, where a used item was installed under the guise of being new. (See attached pictures). Safety Issues & Threats: When I inspected the window and requested that the work be completed properly, Mr. Reggie became physically aggressive and verbally abusive. He issued multiple threats, stating he was "crazy," that "bad things would happen" to me unless he was paid, and that he would return to break my windows. He also threatened to harass my tenants. Conclusion: I have filed a formal criminal harassment report with the NYPD (24th Precinct). Do not hire this company. They are unlicensed, their work is defective, they engage in fraudulent business practices, and their behavior is dangerous. NYPD Report filed under #2025-024-06236 on December 20, 2025. I will report this company to the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP), and to the Better Business Bureau. I will also sue the company for damages at the Small Claims Court of NY. cid:017ECDDF-12F4-4314-B4E7-88B27B90FBC0 Ray R. read more

I couldn't be happier with https://ajwindowhaus.com/. Here's the thing--I did a lot of research and compared sliding glass doors from all the big box stores. When it came to quality, glass thickness, hurricane rating, and cost, AJ Window Haus stood out by far. I went with a 3-panel slider, and the difference is night and day. The doors glide effortlessly--I can literally move all three panels using just my pinky. The craftsmanship is top-tier and truly speaks for itself. My only regret? Not having Alex's team install it. I thought my contractor could handle it, but the installation was clearly more complex than expected. I was on edge the entire time. If you're considering a door from AJ, I strongly recommend using their installation team--they know their product inside and out. The door has become a centerpiece in my home, and every time I see it, I'm reminded I made the right choice. No regrets whatsoever--this is not the kind of flimsy product you find at the big box stores. This is the real deal. read more

AJ Windows is the worst I have ever experienced. He took funds from a 74-year-old senior and left her without a kitchen. Over three months, he has yet to complete the job. Always canceling and tons of no-shows. As we approach Thanksgiving, the elderly woman is still without an operable kitchen. He should be ashamed of himself for robbing an elderly woman on Social Security. This order has caused her undue stress. No kitchen to cook in for the holidays. Reggie is a crook and he should be ashamed of himself. Return the money read more

SCAM COMPANY. About to file a complaint with both the NYC Bureau of Consumer Affairs and the NY State Attorney General, then to small claims court. This business is a scam. They will take your deposit and disappear. When called numerous times about returning the deposit, the owner of the company, if it's even an actual company, just lied and lied about returning the money. Never happened. Gave this guy the benefit of the doubt. Took money from my elderly aunt. Just terrible. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I moved to a new rental and needed to repair some window screens and frames. Found on Yelp a few windows repair places, but some of them never returned my call, and one of them canceled my estimate last minute. Marina from the A&J window was helpful and accommodating. She sent Doni to my place quickly, and he was very professional. Their price is reasonable, and they are efficient. Doni came in today with all the frames and nicely adjusted/balance the windows. Great communication, nice work, and reasonable cost. I would highly recommend them if you need any help with your windows. Thank you, Marina & Doni. read more

They saved me $4,550 for one window. Anderson Windows quoted me $5,000 to replace a cracked window ... advising the glass could not be replaced / entire window pane and new hardware had to replaced. A& J Windows came in and measured the glass. Ten days later the new glass arrived and in 15 minutes the cracked glass was replaced and new glass installed for $450. Thank you AJ Windows and glad I avoided Anderson Windows !! read more

From the initial phone conversation to scheduling the consultation, everything about A&J was a dream! Semet completed our consultation and was even able to point out what was wrong with the previous installation. Tatiana at the office was fabulous with email & phone communication. We were thrilled with Semet came for installation with a partner and were not disappointed. Not only did they arrive on time and work efficiently, but they cleaned up dirt and debris as if there was nothing there. In addition, they also repaired two of our windows in addition to the several we had replaced which are gliding like new. The prices are affordable and I will surely recommend A&J to friends and family. Thank you again for such quality customer service. Your efforts are very much appreciated! read more

We had one living room window that needed to be replaced. Some contractors were not interested in replacing just one window, others were quoting unreasonable prices. I found this vendor through Yelp and I'm so grateful that the positive reviews are true. From the time I called the service, they were courteous and responsive, Reggie immediately came over and gave us a reasonable quote. His workmen replaced the window skillfully and quickly. Go Reggie! I intend using them again and am recommending them to others. You won't regret it. read more

Excellent service. We hired them to repair a broken window and adjust all the other ones that where getting very hard to slice up and down. After some shopping around they gave us the best quote, and it was all done in a few days: excellent communication, they where on time, professional, clean and efficient. A little afterwards one of the windows got a little hard to get up and they immediately sent two persons (Doris and Egli) to adjust them. Again this was done quickly and professionally. I would not hesitate one second to recommend them. read more

Honestly, I have never received such optimal customer service not only from staff but the owner himself. After voicing having to wait for my window installment, the owner, Reggie reached out to me to explain what happened that it wasn't their business that was delaying the service but the third party which they received my window frame from. I found it very exceptional that he reaches out to his customers to find out what the problem is and how it can be corrected. The customer's satisfaction is their first priority. We needed more windows to be repaired on the my house and they came back within a week, finished the job and even gave us a discount for being a returning customer. The follow-up and communication was phenomenal from the receptionist and staff to let us know when they were on their way and the expected time frame. I will continue to reach out to them for any window and installment needs as well as recommend their business with anyone I know. My window balancers were fixed and replaced quickly. Reggie, the owner, is a honest and fair contractor, and was a pleasure to deal with.

I bid out a window replacement and included A&J due to their 5-start rating on yelp. They promptly scheduled a visit to measure and quickly produced a quote. However, I asked if they would produce an itemized bill and they said no, they would just provide one all-in price. Upon comparing their quote to others for purchase and install of the same model window from the same manufacturer, I realized the reason was to hide massive markups. I received quotes from 4 window companies on the same job and theirs was 2-5x higher than the other three companies who submitted a bid. I can't comment on the quality of their work, but people typically run their entire business in the same way. I definitely wouldn't hire them if I didn't have 4-5 competing bids. read more
