We were referred to Windows We Are. The seals on several double-paned windows had broken allowing condensation on the inner surfaces between the panes. Condensation ultimately makes the windows look very dirty. Windows We Are staff came to assess the situation promptly and with our go-ahead ordered replacement panes, which arrived within a week. Awful customer service. Went in to inquire about getting window screens as the current windows in my apartment had nothing. Long story short, was told the window screens I needed did not exist (I later googled and did find it; they were nothing special). While I was trying to ask what options I had then, the guy was not very nice and told me to "wait a minute." He then left me standing there for 15 minutes. When I finally went up to him to ask how much longer I was supposed to wait, it was obvious that he'd forgotten about me. I walked out after this. Used the company 10 years ago and just recently to install 6 additional windows. There was some issue with one of the new window panels and also discovered an issue with one of the previously installed windows. The whole process was handled professionally both in office (Jordan, who did his best trying to accommodate scheduling) and onsite (Carlos who was adept and his team efficient in both installation/repair). These people charged me $185 for coming to give me an estimate - which I ended up having to pay in order to get the sales person out of my apartment. In November of 2012, I ordered 11 new windows and 2 new doors from Windows We Are. The windows arrived and were installed with no problem within a couple of weeks. Well, after 4 months and numerous phone calls I still have not received my doors. Jimmy always had an excuse and made lots of empty promises and I am still without the doors!! I shopped here trying to keep my business local and to help out the small businessman rather than the corporations but received less than stellar cooperation and attention. These folks are the best -- from the office to the installers. Our multi-unit building needed all new windows. I found WWA from a neighbor who raved about their work on her brownstone. I'm on the board of a condo. So, I really had to push our board to give them our contract. We had one board member insisting on hiring our building super on the cheap. Others debated window style to death. If I owned a single family home, I would have hired WWA on the spot based on the professionalism during the estimate walk through alone. But its a board, so it took a lot of doing. The front office at WWA; Chris, Scott & Jimmy were patient and informative. Chris even participated in a conference all with our board to get all questions answered and help us choose the ideal style for our building and budget. They gave us a terrific price and were a pleasure to work with. If you call them during business hours, you'll always get person -- not a voice mail. And they're always courteous and professional. WWA earned our contract on front office care alone. This high level of professionalism carried over to our install. The crew WWA sent over were like window ninjas -- super efficient and on their game It was a full crew that worked on two units per day. The crew that worked on mine included Carlitos, Hector & Will. These guys worked in the blistering heat wave and were still energetic and super super pleasant. Team work at its best! They arrived on time, removed all the old windows and installed 10 new ones in my unit alone by 3pm. Even though they were super efficient, they took great care too. They covered the furniture that was close to the work space, drop clothed and swept up after themselves -- even in our hall way. (Due to the nature of the job, you'll still need to clean your place after wards. But other contractors can leave the place in a disaster. Not these guys.) They also made sure to move back heavy furniture that needed to be moved a bit to create more work space. Total gentleman. At the end, Carlitos, the foreman did a final walk through to make sure each window was done right. BRAVO! The windows are beautiful and perfectly installed. These guys did it all with a great attitude in the miserable heat. I can't thank this crew enough -- they worked HARD! Snaps to the front office for not skimping on man-power and making sure they have great people. That said, don't skimp either on your window project by hiring anyone else. You can lose time, money and experience total aggravation going through big boxers like Lowes and hiring people who don't specialize in windows. I'm glad I pushed to give WWA our building's contract.. they were ACES. read more

The workman cut our cable connection (mistakes happen!) while installing a window. Problem is that he didn't bother to tell us. We had to find out for ourselves. The same crew on this particular job left a mess both inside and outside (wood shards and rubble left in the front garden area). My wife had to ask them to "clean the windows" before they left. When I brought these problems to the attention of the company the representative had only a feeble apology to offer. Highly unprofessional and failure to take responsibility for their work left me disappointed that I had selected them to do the work. The widows themselves are okay, but the workmanship left much to be desired. We have to bring in some else to fill gaps and finish the job properly. read more

The job itself was great (7 windows replaced in a 5th floor walk-up, plus removing window gates -- the guys got it done in a day!) but they had to cut my phone line and didn't notify me (cutting it was necessary but annoying not to know) and when they cut the bars off the bathroom window they didn't protect the mirror so it got damaged. They made it right by paying for the Verizon tech to fix my phone line and for a glass company to fix my mirror, but care and communication would have prevented or lessened these issues. Jason who handles scheduling appointments is rude and arrogant. I left several messages to try to schedule an appt... To no avail. When i finally got him on the phone, he didnt apologize for not returning my messages. Then he scheduled an appt.---i could have sworn it was for a Friday. He calls on Thurs morning to say his guys are outside. ... Insisting this was day he scheduled. I wasnt expecting them this day, so i asked if i could reschedule. Instead of just being amenable... He tells me i need to call my mgmt company to do so. He finally backed off and rescheduled it himself. Still shaking my head and frustrated with his attitude. We arranged for a Technician to come to our home and replace the pistons on a window. He came and started working on the window and in the process his went to put his measuring tape on his belt and it fell against our minor wardrobe and cracked the minor . I informed him what had happen and he turns around and states he did not break the minor because his measuring tape is rubber and it could not break the mirror, He insisted that the he did not break the mirror, I told him i saw the tape hit the mirror and it cracked. I cannot believe he would lie to me when I standing there when it happened. I called Windows We Are and your service rep stated he never has a problem with the technician and took his word that he did not break the mirror. He gave me the name of a company that fixes mirrors and told me I could take it there to have it fixed he did not even offer to pay for the damage. Windows We Are still impresses. Five years ago, they replaced all of the windows in my house in Ditmas Park. They helped me pick out the perfect windows for my new home at that time. I went with a traditional six over one grid wood window in front and vinyl windows everywhere else. I must say the installation was smooth and suprisingly fast. Construction is in iherently noisy, dirty, and instrusive, but it did not feel that way this time. They replaced my 44 windows in two days, just business as usual for them. And now that the windows have withstood the test of time, I'm even happier. What's more, I just recently called them back to do a repair on one window after five years. They came no questions asked. I had to call them back to repair this window because a tenant in my two family home broke the sash away from the shoe-the way it was broken could have clearly voided any warranty, but now with Windows We Are. I felt I had to show my gratitude somewhere and do so here. They delivered. read more

install was ok but i ordered windows with full sceens they came with half screens so i called them wile the installer was putting them in the man said he will order full screens for me and not to worry they will be in in about a week and will let me know when they can replace the half screens with the full ones well after 3 weeks i called them they did nothing they lied to me by saying they will order the full screens so they said they will order them now this is after a number of calls they they never returned my calls so i got the person on the phone and he said he will order them well guess what afet 1 week i called them they acted like i never called them playing dumb i said where is my full screens he said oh i will check and let you know when they come in so after another week they got them came to install then and guess what they were not the correct ones but the installer put them in anyway what a joke they dont care after the sale and install lied never orderd the correct screens i paid for full screens delvered half they make the mistake and act like they dont care about it read more
