Oh Wildflower, how I love thee. In the search for a place to soak up the AC while writting the next great american novel, I came upon this place. I saw they had free wifi and some comfy looking booths so I decided to step inside. There is a very distinct, relaxed atmosphere here. The crowd that comes here is very mixed but still very mellow. It also helps that this location opens up to Changing Hands Bookstore next door. Coffee, good food and books seem to go hand in hand. Then I stepped up to the counter. My eyes were greeted with a feast of various baked goods. I looked up at the menu and was pleased with the choices available. I have had lunch and dinner here. Everything I have had as been really great. I especially enjoy their soup in bread bowls. It's a step above panera bread company for me. There is just a certain flair there. I also really enjoy their iced tea. The only criticism of this place is that there coffee can be a bit bland. Oh, and I've bought loaves of bread here too. They were wonderful. I have spent quite a few hours here working and talking with friends. This is definately a great place to go. read more

Okay, so I go back and forth on this place. My favorite foods are always their seasonal dishes which is a bit frustrating. I will continue to go because this preggo needs my potato cream cheese soup. It is the only thing that makes me happy right now. Normally I get the wildflower salad with it. The other day I ordered the caesar salad with it and it was AWFUL. I mean the worst salad I've ever had. Romaine lettuce, mushrooms (wtf?) and parmesan. I think there might have been dressing on it, but there was so little and I couldn't taste it and so I don't really know. That is the only horrid food I've had there though. Everything else is okay and if you get to try the pulled pork sandwich in spring or the summer club you will be in for a treat. read more

An old coworker of mine would rave about this place and always suggest trying it out if I were in town. Considering that I had recently moved up to Tempe, I thought this would be the perfect time to try something new. I was beaming with excitement however I was a little let down once I walked into the restaurant. I was expecting more of a trendy aesthetic vibe but I would compare the decor and ambiance similar to Panera (very lackluster) . To order, I walked up to the counter and reviewed the menu while receiving a few recommendations and placed my order. I decided to try the Salmon Alfredo and House Citrus Green Tea. Finding seating wasn't hard considering that the restaurant was almost completely empty. This detail was a bit nerve-wracking because empty restaurants sometimes equals poor quality food; however, a large crowd rush started to kick up after 10 minutes or so. The food came out pretty fast and was piping hot. I would describe the dish as average, it wasn't horrible but it could use some improvements. Very similar to what you would get at Panera, Sauce, or any other chain restaurant. The best part of my food experience was the garlic bread that came with my pasta and the green tea. There are no public restrooms in the store, but it is conjoined with another crafty/folky store which may have restrooms for use. Overall, I would give this restaurant another try but I would not go to the extremes for an average dish that was quite pricey. read more

I have been here 3 times total! I only get to visit when running errands out in this area that is over a hour from my home. I found the restuarant to be homey and quaint. I also noticed they kept the dining room area tidy and clean because someone was going around cleaning my entire time there. You stand in line to order at the counter and then they seemed to do a mixture of delivering your food to your table or calling you to pick it up from a window. There is a wide selection of foods for anyone with any type of diet restrictions or food allergies so my whole family was able to order something delicious. Warning: if ordering soup with dairy allergy beware their chicken noodle it has dairy LOL. Everything seems fresh, baked that day, and you can tell its not filled with preservatives. They have a huge selection of teas, juices and lemon water for those trying to get away from soda. Booths are hard to come by they are snatched up first! This is a perfect place to have a quiet lunch date, steal away to get some work done, writing, a girls lunch, and their breakfast options are to die for! If you haven't been you need to try it! Oh and grilled cheese is amazing! read more

After trying their samples for years at many Yelp event's I finally had a chance to eat here. Start with a free bred and butter sample, makes sense as this is a bread company. I had the butternut squash ravioli, I really liked this dish however the filling does cross the line from savory to sweet. My wife's salad was great too I now have a place where I can eat and she can have a hearty salad at good prices. read more

Big fan of this place.. the location is convenient for before yoga class nearby. Their staff has always been friendly and prompt and I like their proximity to the bookstore (which makes me come even more often as I can browse and eat while I kill time before yoga class). Wildflower has good food overall, so that's a known already... but what stands out about this place is the book store next door and the casualness and openness of the restaurant. read more

The food has always been pretty good. Service can be terrible. About 8-9 days ago ordered online for curbside pickup. Arrived, texted my arrival as instructed. After 10 minutes nobody showed. I go inside to see what is going on. My order was not where it was expected and the bread I ordered was not available. They sold me product that they didn't have. Was pretty unhappy about the service and situation. Used in F word in the conversation. A man who acted as the manager took my bag of what food they had prepared and said he would refund my order that I wasn't going to talk to them that way. The refund of $20.80 never happened. They don't seem to be listed on BBB. Lesson learned was that they believe extremely poor service on their part does not entitle me to be unhappy about it. Update: I was refunded the $20.80. Company acknowledged my posting. Moving rating to 3 from 2 stars. read more

This place is so yummy and awesome!!!! Sage was a great help!! I would recommend the BLT and potato soup!

Great local place. I was their customer when I lived near the Sonoran Village shopping center and I visit this location (McClintock) often. Ms. May and other managers are always doing their best to accommodate everyone. read more

We went 2 days ago, and had drove all the way from Ahwatukee for their bread bowls! When we were ready to order, we were told they ran out & my daughter was super bummed. We almost left . The cashier gal even let her pick a pastry for her inconvenience. I ended up talking the girls into staying. They had the Salmon pasta dish and I had the BLT sandwich & soup combo. Food was great as always! As we were leaving, the mgr, Anthony caught us outside with a bag in his hand. They found 2 bread bowls and even packed some soup for my daughter! Was an awesome gesture and we were very grateful! Thank you again for your courtesy! read more

Great salads. Nice vibe. Staff was slow today, like I nearly left bc they took so long with 1 customer. Just one register open, and staff milling about. Very perplexing. But I prevailed waited and had my salad. read more

My go to place for great food that I would prepare for myself. Always fresh ingredients put together with care and served with efficiency. Love the outdoor patio seating and the great location. Thank you for being reliably great. read more

We went to his location today and we were totally disgusted with our meal and with the downright terrible attitude of the manager of this location. My son ordered the bread bowl with potato cheese soup and it was only a small amount of soup in the bowl. He wanted some more soup to take out and paid an additional $7.85 for a carry out bowl. The amount of soup was a couple of ounces in a carry out cup. I questioned the manager and he said that was the correct amount, and his approach to me was pathetic. I will never return to the Wildflower Restaurant again. read more

Food and service is excellent. I had the Avocado toast, my husband had the egg sandwich. Love coming for breakfast after a run!

I used to go to this location all the time when I worked in the area. At least once a week. Happen to be over there today, and was excited to go in. So disappointed! If I had gotten it to eat at the restaurant I would have complained and asked for my money back. Got my salad home, didn't even have all the ingredients and it was more like a $5 salad versus a $16 salad. What a bummer. Won't go in again. read more

Hearty solid food, good music choice, good service.

Riley is a ROCKSTAR! Kind and cool dude -- happy to be alive and working kind of person. Keep that up!!

My ideal day is coming to Wildflower, ordering a chopped salad and then spending hours browsing books next door at Changing Hands. I just love this salad it is one of my favorites. The salad is comprised of chopped arugula, Israeli cous cous, freeze dried corn, dried cranberries, red bell pepper, feta, sunflower seeds and salmon. It is perfection! My only regret is that I am not able to visit more often. read more

This is my favorite spot to go with my mom and sisters. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything on their menu is fresh and amazing. However, their potato cream cheese soup is my absolute favorite. That with one of their sourdough rolls or any of their fresh baked bread because it's all so delicious. The service is always very warm and genuine. Anthony and Lina both do a wonderful job making sure all customers are happy with their experience, all while never losing a smile on their faces. 11/10 I would recommend! read more

Beware do not order take out from this location. The last three times we have ordered from this location either something is forgotten, poor quality, or completely wrong. We tried a couple times thinking it was just a fluke because they are so busy but it is the standard. read more

Feel'n patriotic today with my red, white and blue bread :-) And I still have to wait on an empty table - this place is always so busy. Very disappointed :( I've came to this wildflower for years as it is next to my work. Recently I've had very poor service and experiences with the food. I called ahead today and paid over the phone but when came to pick it up still had to wait in the giant line to get it. Then we I get back to work this is what the meal looked like. I got the half potato soup and half strawberry spinach salad. I won't be returning. read more

The last two times I've come to this location- the service is not good and the food takes forever to come out. A salad and a sandwich took 35 minutes, forgot my latte, and never came to check up on us. This location is just slow in service, which is unfortunate because this is the nearest Wildflower to me. read more

Updating my review. Still 5 stars, but I just wanted to give Panera a shoutout for having vegan options. I hope to see them expand the vegan options - I would love to see some nut cheeses as an option for their sandwiches. Go-to for healthy, yummy, comfort food. Thanks to our server Stephanie who was so sweet and kind to my daughter and I. She noticed my daughter was carrying a Lego set and came and told her that she really liked Legos too. It made her day to know someone else has the same interest! All of the servers are usually really nice but Stephanie went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. stopped in for breakfast and had the chipotle breakfast sandwich, it was a delight. great service and delicious food.

The potato chip tasted old and my rueben sandwich didn't taste bad ..but by the time I finished the first half of the sandwich the second half was so soggy..the bread was disgusting. Won't go back to that Wildflower. The one is Scottsdale had fresh delicious sandwich and chips. read more

I come and pick up from this location every week and today I was sitting in the curbside pick up waiting for my food they texted me it would be ready in one minute I wait 10 minutes and I called the store and a lady picks up the phone. She was so rude she asked me if mine was for pick up or curbside I told her curbside pick up and I had already gotten a text message back she proceeded to tell me that I need to come inside I refused. This younger man came out and brought my food to me and was wondering what the holdup was and what had happened with this lady I have no idea why I was waiting so long but my food is now cold and I am very disappointed. read more

The blandest sandwich I've ever eaten. The almond tuna sandwich was 99% tasteless sprouts and 1% tuna. Had to keep pulling the unnecessary amount of sprouts out so I could actually taste the sandwich. Even then, still wasn't good. Bread itself was okay I guess, but couldn't even appreciate it when the sandwich as a whole was disgusting. I truly don't understand the unnecessary hype about this place. read more

Tonight was my very first visit to Wildflower! The food was absolutely stupendous. The dishes Homestyle Penne Pasta and Wildflower Salad we're out of this world. I often eat at this or other Wildflower locations twice a week and have for years. The spinach strawberry salad is my favorite but there is a nice variety of salads and all are great. Sandwiches, combos and breakfasts are great too. The only recommendation at this location would be to expand its size to better accommodate all there customers. read more

Wonderful soups. Seasonal soup great. Fresh salads. Good tea. The place is very small compared to their other stores.

We have come here for years but today is the last day. The quality of their food has gone into the garbage (literally). Purchased the BLT plus, which was my favorite. The guacamole was a couple days old or at least left out unrefrigerated and tasted like it. It was dark green and tasted off. The lettuce was wilted, slimy, and dark around the edges. The house chips it came with were a bit soft. Needless to say it was thrown away and not eaten and the thought of it literally makes me sick. I'd like to say this was the only time this happened, but the last few times we were here something similar happened. Wildflower was good in its heyday but not anymore. read more

I always try to stay away from chains, but I heard that Wildflower Bread Co. served healthy, good food and had a reputation for serving the community. I was willing to give it a shot. I came during my lunch break and drove 15 minutes to get there, so I was excited when I ordered a chicken parmesan. When I paid, my card got declined. My whole face fell. "I'm so sorry I have to cancel my order. I forgot they're mailing me a new debit card because my card expired," I said. I was beet red with embarrassment and even more bummed out that I drove a quarter of my break to go back to the office hungry. I didn't express any of this to the cashier, but as I turned to walk away, the cashier called after me, "Wait, hey it's okay. It's on us." I looked at her in disbelief. "Are you sure??" I asked her. She smiled, "Yeah," and she rang up the order, "It's okay, it happens," she said. I thanked her graciously! So first off, I want to thank this specific store and staff, for this act of kindness. One act of kindness is all it takes to make someone's day a little better, and it not only made mine, but is something I will always remember. Second off, my chicken parm was delicious! It was fresh mozzarella chunks that were melting off into delicious chicken - the ingredients were fresh and delectable. I absolutely loved the way they plated it.` For this, I have to give this eatery a 5-star, good food, great service? I don't care if it's a chain, this place rocks and I'm a fan. read more

My sister recommended this place so we decided to try it. Very nice lunch spot. The spice meatball sandwich was really good. They give you 3 meatballs and the sandwich has a nice kick to it. My wife had the Chicken Continental. Very juicy, tender and a little kick to it with the honey mustard. The inside and the bathrooms were very clean but they had a lot of dirty tables. Good thing those dirty dishes weren't there when I walked in because it wasn't very appetizing. Other then the outside tables, this was a very nice lunch spot that we enjoyed. read more

I really like this place. Their menu is eclectic and healthy for the most part. Everything seems very fresh and has always been good. I really like the Turkey Rueben, I can't find a way to order anything else. I hope this place proliferates to somewhere closer to my house.
