Growing up in Hawaii, it was a nostalgic place to visit whenever I go back home. That ended when the Oahu location permanently closed. I made a move up to Eugene a few months ago and I was ecstatic that there is a Sizzlers located in Springfield! I decided on a special treat for myself and came on Mother's Day. The restaurant was bustling and the line was speedy. I decided to go retro and ordered a malibu chicken with a baked potato as the side and a salad bar. The salad bar did not look too sanitary. It's inevitable that the salad bar items will be mixed with the items nearby since it's placed so closely next to each other. But when it's in and around the crocks, I avoid those items...which was practically the whole salad bar. The hot food (taco bar) was pretty empty and messy too. The small portion of what ever meat or nacho cheese was left, it was all dried up. I think the soup area was okay. There was two soups to choose from brocolli cheese and clam chowder. I decided to skip it. I hate to see my childhood restaurants go but when a chain restaurant is struggling and losing it's luster, it may be a time to prepare ourselves and start the letting go process.

I've never really felt the need to leave a bad review before but given this place suspiciously has…read morea 4.1 average, I feel compelled. I will also say, I worked in restaurants for almost 8 years and I am VERY understanding of costs and the possibilities of off days. But this place is honestly ridiculous. First of all, I did a to-go order, so my review is completely about that experience, the food, and the cost. I do not have a review of the service. $18 dollars for a breakfast burrito sounded crazy, but since it was my bad not checking the prices, I went through with it. The food was not at all worth $18. It was bland and soggy, not moist or juicy from the sausage, just soggy. The flavor of the sausage was good but other than that the burrito was completely bland. The home fries on the side were pretty tasty but I didn't even want them and would've preferred them inside the burrito or not included at all for a lower price. My main reason for leaving 1 star and not maybe 2 or even 3 is that they charge a 10% gratuity on to-go orders which, to me, is unacceptable. I generally tip about that much on my own for to-go (20-35% if I eat in for people who think I'm awful lol), but given the food is ridiculously overpriced I was unsure if I would this time. Them making that decision for me without any heads up ensures I will never come back here again. A small note on ambience; the place is stinky. As I said, I didn't sit down so take this with a grain of salt, but when I walked in I was blasted with a musty and kind of dirty smell that would've had me not wanting to stay for a meal. I honestly feel bad writing this review but this place does not deserve the communities continued business unless they SERIOUSLY up their game. I don't believe I will ever be back but hopefully they improve and actually live up to the 4.1 rating that they have. There are many, many better tasting and more affordable options throughout Eugene, even places with much lower ratings.

The Chilaquiles were okay - resembled more of an egg scramble with a few chips. Really enjoyed the French toast though! This place brings back good memories of coming during college!

It's time…read morefor a later lunch and I see there's a Texas Roadhouse and a BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse near by. WE pick the BJ's cause they have this $13 special Pizookie lunch deal with the deep dish pizza I love. I think I wanted to try a different piza then what I usually get. I normally get the classic, but this time I went for the all meat marvel or something like that. Served with a Caesar salad, I asked if I could get some anchovies on the Caesar like the real Caesars have. They server said he's check. The rest of the crew got the deep dish pizzas as well. Service was friendly in a trained chain restaurant kinda way. It's a little bit upscale inside, so that's nice. The Caesar salad arrives, holy crap, that's a TON of anchovies on it! It look like some kinda weird creatures on the salad! I shared some of the anchovies with who ever wanted any. I'll say it did add another dimension to the salad. My personal deep dish pizza arrived. Wow, that thing is stacked with toppings! Tons of pepperoni and meat. I think I like this one better than the Classic pizza. It was all quite filling and tasted all yummy, I'll keep coming to BJ's. Oh yeah, the Pizookie dessert was super nice as usual, a little on the sweet side.

None of us opened the box to check when we got the order, so when we got back and gave the box to my friend, it looked like someone has eaten the corn out of the box! There were only a few kernels (as seen in the picture) and the fried chicken was way over cooked. I don't recommend take out.
