Wildfire Oakbrook is located in the upper level of the Oak Brook mall center. Parking can be tough however they do offer vallet. I was here with a group of 5 for dinner and we were seated once 50% of our party was there. Thankfully 3 of us got there around the same time and were seated right away. We were seated in a smaller room around the corner of the bathrooms. The atmosphere is kind of a combo of old school Italian and speak easy. Wood/brown decor throughout and diminish lighting. They also had Christmas lights up which was a nice touch for the holiday season. Our server was kind, friendly and the perfect amount of attentive. Our drinks were always full and our food was timed out well. I'm not a steak snob by any means but I trust my palette and loooove the filet mignon from here. It was cooked to perfection - juicy, tender, flavorful and oh so yummy! I had mashed potatoes and lemon broccoli for my sides and left with a very satisfied and maybe ate too much stomach, haha. My wife and I went to Wildfire in Oakbrook on Saturday evening. 1. Soon as we sat down we noticed the two small bread plates on the table for placing bread slices were dirty with gravy smuges. 2. We ordered Cabernet house wine $14 a glass and it had a bad taste like old cheap wine. 3. My wife's steak medallions trio were barely warm. My sea bass was really hot. 4. This was such an underrated lunch. I came by on a Wednesday right before a meeting for a quick bite. It was busy but I guess that should've been a sign of how good their lunch menu was. As soon as I sat down, they offered their onion bread and when we annihilated it, they offered to more. I ended up going for the French dip prime rib sandwich. Nothing too heavy and something that was quick and easy. It took longer than anticipated but it was definitely worth the wait! The brioche bread really makes the sandwich. After an hour when I didn't get the text we came back to make sure we didn't miss a text. They admitted they didn't send the text but still needed more time to clear off tables. A group of eight of us celebrated a friend's birthday on a Tuesday evening. All was fine until the food came...or didn't come as in my case. My plate was ordered incorrectly, so I waited through at least half of the dinner was finished by others before my replacement arrived. I had been left with my side of sweet potato that I had been picking at while engrossed in conversation when I eventually noticed on closer inspection that I had been eating a spoiled and visually, moldy potato. Though I typically don't give much weight to presentation at this level of dining, the main course's bla presentation gave me the impression that they don't really care. While I gracefully accepted apologies and didn't make any other negative overtures, the final bill arrived without any adjustments. That was surprising and further solidified my impression that Wildfire is averse to caring. We had asked for clarification of who benefits from the service charge and were told it goes to the corporation, not to the restaurant and not to the workers. Not happening no matter who it went to and it was promptly removed. IMO, it's rather pathetic to be so protective over the financial bottom line of holding onto all the pennies, especially with what went down. I'd eaten here before, but today was my last. I ordered the macadamia encrusted halibut $32. Perfect portion. It's such a heavy duty fish so the piece for lunch was just right. Cooked to a soft perfection, came out piping hot, salted just right. The lemon butter sauce was light and made a nice marriage with the fish. It came with asparagus and I ordered the fries in the side. May I add the fries were fresh cut and fried to how I love. Had a girls night last night and it was also the first time trying this location. We arrived a little early so we drank at the bar for a bit until our table was ready. Service was fast and drinks were delicious!! They got our table ready 15 minutes earlier than our reservation time, so that was a plus. Dinner was great! I got the NY strip steak and the loaded baked potato. The steak was a tad on the saltier side but my friends liked it as is, so maybe just my preference. The loaded potato was simple yet soo tasty. I had a few of the raspberry cosmos and honestly was feeling them! They were such a subtle and refreshing taste of raspberry, probably my favorite martini now. For dessert I got the warmed up cookie with ice cream on top but the cookie was way too rich for me. I didn't even asked for it to me taken off the bill but the waiter took it off because he had asked me if there was a problem with it (because he noticed I didn't eat it) and I just told him it was way too rich for me and I just didn't like it. Very nice of him because I would have paid for it! Our main waiter was great, very attentive but not overly on top of us about anything, but the waiters going around clearing plates were a little too much. My friend was eating a burger and every 2 minutes someone would come by asking if they can take her plate. One time she even had the burger in hand ready to take a bite! lol we laughed it off bit it was a little too much. We had no idea why we were feeling rushed out because there was a lot of people inside still. We looked up the time and they did close soon so maybe that's why. I hadn't been to Wildfire in a long time and it didn't disappoint. The crab cakes were delicious and the sauce that comes with them is perfect. The calamari were perfectly breaded and not salty. My meal was a special, the Parmesan crusted cod, and it was the best cod I've had in a while. Our server Jay was attentive to our large party and the service was quick. This visit what somewhat disappointing. My wife and I came here with our two high school graduates for a celebratory dinner. My wife as always ordered wine and a chopped salad with was great. The rest of us ended up ordering steaks and I could have not been more disappointed with the quality of meat and the temperature of the steaks at the table. All three of us ordered medium temp steaks and not a single one showed up right. Two were overcooked and one was under cooked. I politely mentioned the issue to the me of many floor managers roaming around and strangely he walked passed our table, only glancing at the steaks, and never stopped back to offer any type of solution. I understand that this is a busy restaurant but I expect higher consistency out of the kitchen and more personal attention from management. I will mention that our waiter was super friendly and attentive. He was apologetic once he saw the steaks and heard me mentioning the temp. We had a party of 10, not one glass was ever below half full. Our group split the calamari, chopped salad, and the goat cheese. The first two were excellent, the got cheese just ok. I started with a dirty martini with blue cheese olives, amazing. Our group also really liked the Conundrum red blend. Our group had the prime rib, medallion trio, coconut shrimp, cheeseburger, and Mac n cheese. I've had the medallions in the past so it was time to try something new. The food was amazing! The fresh made rolls are yummo. The cobb salad was perfection. We all had beef medallions, best beef I have had in several years. We asked the wait time and were told we could be sat immediately. Not sure if that was a good sign but by the time we left (about 90 minutes later) the place was packed and wait was long. My Greek salad was great. They chopped the lettuce which I always love. Husband thought his lemon pepper chicken could use a little something such as capers or another ingredient. Au gratin potatoes were pretty good. House Chardonnay was good as were the mixed drinks. It's a very large restaurant and the tables are really close together which also made it hard getting to and from the table. Nice meal but honestly for the prices I think it could use a little update and some TLC. Our favorite dining spot in Oak Brook Mall. We ordered Apple Bacon Sea Scallops, Cedar Plank Salmon and a Couple of Cheeseburgers. Everything was delicious especially the sea scallop skewers. The Sea Scallops was cooked to perfection and wrapped in semi Crispy Applewood Bacon, side dip of Asian flavored chili sauce made this a perfect dish. After settling the check, I decided to order another glass of wine. I asked Jessica to bring me one, and this is when the issue occurred. I noticed Jessica walking toward the bar to retrieve the wine. I then saw the female bartender reach under the bar and hand Jessica a glass of wine that had clearly already been poured, though this wine should have come directly from the bottle. Jessica then took another clean wine glass, poured the wine from the first glass into it, and wiped the rim with a napkin before bringing it to me. I asked Jessica about what I had just witnessed. She responded, "Oh, that was an overpour," implying the wine came straight from the bottle. I then asked, "If that's the case, why didn't she simply give me the overpoured glass directly?" Price point you're looking at $40-$50 per steak and price includes a side of your choice. Highest quality steak? Certainly not yet I feel like you're getting what you pay for at the price point. Now that I've got that out of the way, what makes me come back? It's Lettuce Entertain You affiliated, so there's a certain service standard that is expected and never disappoints. We happen to be celebrating an anniversary and at the end of the meal they brought out a nice complimentary dessert for us to share. On this last visit, I'll say they've stepped their game up with the fresh garlic bread and more attention to their side dishes so that was a plus. That's all I got on this one. Came here for a private Bridal shower dinner. They they had booked one of the private rooms. The location of this restaurant is attached to a mall. The mall is very big but there's also a lot of parking which is nice. This was my 1st time at this mall restaurant area. I was happy when I was able to secure garage parking in the green garage. The green garage is close to the restaurant and the restaurant is also close to cheesecake factory if you need a reference. Onto the restaurant. Definitely gave me vibes of a steakhouse. It was very crowded for Friday night and no seats left unfilled. The bar was completely crowded. The private room that was booked was nice once you got inside but kind of a mess getting too as you had to walk through the kitchen area. The menu for our dinner was preplanned and the selections were really thought out. We had both salmon and chicken, mashed potatoes and cream spinach. We also had a delightful 2 different salads to choose from. I will say both of the salads were really fresh and had great ingredients and them.
