I was debating between taking my friend to Texas de Brazil or Fogo de Chão, and we ultimately chose Fogo because of its convenient location and because I've had good experiences here in the past. Unfortunately, this visit was completely different and incredibly disappointing. From the moment we were seated, the service was slow and disorganized. It took an unreasonable amount of time just to receive the basic table items, especially the Brazilian cheese bread. We had already been eating for over 25 minutes and were nearly finished with our meal before the bread finally arrived. When we asked about it, the response was simply, "We're still baking them." That's not the level of service I expect from a Brazilian steakhouse. To make matters worse, the mashed potatoes and fried plantains were served cold. I also had to flag down our server to ask what had happened to our drinks. When she finally brought them, she commented that the drinks had already been made but "they just didn't know where to take them." That explanation wasn't reassuring, and being handed a soaking wet straw only added to the poor experience. Throughout the meal, our server rarely checked on our table. No one came by to offer drink refills, and I eventually had to get up and find a manager myself just to get another beverage. The meat selection was also far below what I expect from Fogo de Chão. Instead of the variety of premium cuts they're known for, we were repeatedly offered pork, chicken, and overcooked picanha. The premium cuts were either very limited or never made it to our table, making the experience feel nothing like the quality I've enjoyed during previous visits. I spoke with the manager about our experience, and to his credit, he sincerely apologized and immediately alerted the team. A young lady, who I believe was a supervisor, also came over to apologize and even offered my friend a complimentary dessert. I appreciate their efforts to recover the situation, but by that point, the overall experience had already been ruined. It's disappointing to see how much this location has declined. I've always considered Fogo de Chão one of the better Brazilian steakhouses, but based on this visit, the service, food quality, and overall dining experience have gone downhill significantly. I hope management takes these issues seriously because this experience was nowhere near the standard the restaurant is known for. read more

used to be my favorite Brazilian steakhouse but it's going downhill faster than a roller coaster. like every time I go here the floor is insanely slippery by the buffet infuriating. All it takes is hot water and a mop like literally a free bucket of hot water will save yourselves how much from a possible slip and fall lawsuit insane decision or just management that doesn't care I don't know. Quality of the meat has definitely gone down but nice touch on the pickled vegetables and peppers and have to hand it to the staff. They really do try. read more

Came here for a work party and had a great experience. Everyone who helped us was very informative and genuinely nice, which made the night even better. The service was excellent, and the meats were amazing--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The salad bar was also very good, with so many options that you get to try a little bit of everything. I had a question about the cauliflower dish since it had seeds and other mix-ins, and one of the staff members was super helpful and let me know it was nut-free and gluten-free, which I really appreciated. The service at this location was amazing, I have never been to a restaurant that consistently checked-in on me by multiple different staff members. They made sure to bring me any meats I specifically requested. My favorite is the beef rib that was moist and tender. The cheese puffs were hot and fresh and were refilled. However, some of my other meats were on the dry side like pork belly, chicken and garlic beef. We wish that every salad bar item had a food label too. Otherwise we had a great time and restaurant music was light enough to still chat with your friends. read more

This was my first visit and it did not disappoint. The salad bar is incredible and could easily be a flavorful meal on its own, but the prompt table service with every cut of rotisserie meat is really what stands out at Fogo de Chao. We came for a special anniversary meal, but I can't wait to bring our nearly-teenaged son. We got the Full Charrasco with no extras for 2, and the total was $148 before tax--apparently "still" water translates to an $8 bottle of mineral water. Oh well. read more

This review is for a visit on 10/11/25 We visited the restaurant the day after our daughter's wedding. I wanted to find a place that was on par with the amazing wedding she just had . I believed that Fogo De Chao in Oak Brook was up to the task . I had contacted management prior to our visit in hopes of making the dinner memorable. Our party of 8 was pretty tired , but wanted to continue celebrating the wedding . We were seated at the tables directly behind the hosts , which I feel is prime seating in the restaurant. More private than many areas with less people seated by you . Also close to the market table and Churrasco grill. We were immediately welcome by the General manager Camilo and restaurant manager Luis , who I've had a pleasure to meet before . We all had the Churrasco experience , and I also ordered a steak off the menu . I asked for Luis's recommendation , and informed him of the different ways we each like our steaks cooked . A Wagyu Ribeye was brought to the table cooked at different temperatures , with a salt block to continue cooking the steak for those that preferred well done . It was my first time ordering a single steak at Fogo and it did not disappoint. It was excellent , and a definite favorite of the night . We also ordered a few drinks , our favorite being the off menu Caipirinha Tropical . Like always the Churrasco experience and market table were great . All items very fresh and savory . It was busier than normal for a Saturday ( I recommend a reservation just before 5p) but we had no lack for anything . Camilo and Luis work as hard as a staff member who is brand new , even though they are well past that position . They still found time to check on us and we thank them for that . Our daughter and her husband were given a choice of any dessert to celebrate their marriage and even given a glass of champagne . A perfect touch at the end of our evening . Special thanks to services Lianna, Alexis who checked our table often , and the Gaucho cook Alex for making sure we had everything cooked to desired temperature. My husband & I got married on Valentine's Day & we had our reception at Fogo De Chao. We couldn't have been happier. Yes, it's one of their busiest days of the year but everything was so perfect we didn't notice anyone else in the restaurant. Working on setting up our party with Christine a year prior made all the wedding stress that much easier to deal with. She followed up continuously, answered all our questions, had a solution to any problem I thought I had, & made our night so magical. The entrance sign made it easy for our guests to locate our private area. Once in the room, it was so beautifully decorated with all the items I dropped off I couldn't have imagined a better set up. This place looks nice inside but there are numerous issues. The tables are very close together and the spacing between chairs at each table is nonexistent. The servers are young and inexperienced. For example, multiple cuts of meat were either dropped on the floor (the server left it there for the entire meal) or onto the dish they carry at the bottom of the spit. Several times, the spit touched my plate while they were pushing the meat off. This is unsanitary. The servers put the meat right next to your face when serving someone sitting next to you; this is due to lack of space. Im not a fan of meat that someone else has breathed all over. The flavor of many of the meats was lacking. Picanha, roasted chicken and filet had the best flavor. Lamb was bad. The lamb chops were so dry they were like jerky. Some cuts of meat were more than 50% fat. The sides (whipped potatoes, yuca fries, etc.) were typical. They have a large alcoholic drink selection and most soft drinks come with unlimited refills. You won't get to enjoy the unlimited refills though, unless you chase a server down. Extremely slow and chaotic service...and it wasn't totally packed. I feel like Fogo used to be great until they expanded like crazy. Now, they're the Outback of the Brazilian steakhouses...nothing against Outback. Most of the workers seemed to want to do a good job but it felt like they weren't being led properly. Lack of quality leadership seems like the main issue here. For a $65 meal, this isn't the experience that should be expected. There's a different Brazilian Steakhouse within a few minutes of here that blows Fogo away with flavors, service and ambiance. The Oak Brook location should last a bit longer but may close due to waning customers and high rent, if they don't up their game. Going here should be a memorable experience; this was forgettable. read more

The ambiance was the off and the service was ok up until I mentioned some of the meats were dry and the gauchos kinda avoided my table. The first batch of grilled foods were seasoned perfectly then became saltier as they sliced more on my plate.the yuca fries were overcooked and dense as burnt flakes from the oil were easily absorbed into the fries. Started off by forgetting a place setting and of course it was for my mother on mothers day of all days. After 5 minutes of waiting that was rectified and we received 4 meat options, 2 of which were the same then no servers stopped off for 10-15 minutes and almost seemed to be purposely avoiding us considering we attempted to flag several. Then when a server did bring meat i had to argue over more than 1 piece of meat for my grandfather after waiting 15 minutes for anything and spending $60+ a plate. This is all to say nothing of the fact that the meat selection was minimal, burnt, or salty with few exceptions and the restaurant was so loud a conversation couldnt be maintained at any point. Looks great from the outside but has major work that needs to be done - id suggest going to Chama Gaúcha or the fogo in rosemont. read more

I went to Fogo de Chão yesterday evening for my birthday, and it was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I've had--especially for a place that charges premium prices. This was my first visit, and I brought my young son expecting something special. Instead, we were largely ignored. No one consistently came to our table, and the whole concept of meat service was frustrating--we had to keep asking and waiting instead of being served as advertised. The salad bar was just as disappointing. It looked picked over and neglected, with multiple items empty. For what they charge, that's completely unacceptable. On top of that, we couldn't even get basic service right--like water refills. We had to repeatedly ask for something that should be automatic. Overall, the experience felt disorganized, understaffed, and not worth the money in any way. A birthday dinner turned into a huge letdown. First time at this location. I really like Fogo de Chao, but this location is small, hard to find parking, and not a big waiting area. Came here with my husband for Valentine's Day dinner date. It was very crowded, and we had to wait at the bar for almost an hour. Cocktails were good while we were waiting but not consistent. Although the food was good, it was a small area around the salad bar, so you are always bumping into someone. We had to wait long for them to bring the cuts of meat to us since we were not given the cards to flip to signal that we wanted the meats. I requested the lamb, and it never came around, and neither did the chicken. The servers were okay but barely checked on us. Would go back to Fogo de chao, just probably not this location. read more

This review is only for the happy hour! This happy hour menu is very extensive from beef ribs to lamb chops to other fine cuts of meat for very long, affordable prices and huge quantities! The drinks were amazing and it was well. I'm bad with names but they did have a rum base one that you can get passion fruit flavor and I definitely recommend that one and some cucumber vodka and tequila drinks! My party of three was there relatively early before the restaurant got busy itself. The ambiance is very aesthetically pleasing. The food was amazing. The hummus was good. I've been to Fogo de Chão many times and have always had a great experience, but this was my first visit to the Oak Brook location--and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. My friends and I came here for my birthday lunch before a movie, and the service was incredibly slow from start to finish. There were five of us, and after being seated, we weren't given bread, received only a small serving of mashed potatoes and appetizers, and had to wait an extended time just to get our meat cards and for servers to begin bringing meat to the table. We repeatedly asked for basic items like bread, mashed potatoes, napkins, and a Coke Zero. It took four requests to get the drink, five requests to get napkins, and the bread didn't arrive until the meal was basically over. We also had to keep asking for different cuts of meat because no one was coming by consistently. When it was time to leave for our movie, we requested the check, but even that took another 15 minutes. The server acknowledged it was my birthday and offered dessert to go, but after bringing the menu and check, he disappeared. As we were walking out, he asked if I still wanted my birthday dessert, but by then we were already late. What should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into a stressful and frustrating experience. The poor service overshadowed the meal, and it was easily one of the worst restaurant experiences my friends and I have had. The restaurant was a zoo at noon on a Sunday. Too many people crammed into the space. Food matted into the carpeting, the wait staff uniforms were not clean and the service was slow & chaotic. What happened last night? Was it an off night at Fogo? Were my expectations too big? Let's review. So my buddies and I have been coming to this location every year for a holiday meet up for the last 3 years. Last night, was disappointing to say the least. The hostess was nice and courteous then from there things started to fall through the cracks. We ordered 3 out of 4 drinks that took a good 15 minutes or so. We were told "the bar is backed up". Ok I guess, I mean was there a staffing issue last night? I mean it's the holidays so come on guys. Then we waited awhile before we got some plates then we flipped to green and the gauchos began to come by. However as the night progressed then came by less and less even thought some of us were on green. There were 2 instances where we didn't see any gauchos for 10 minute spans. Also, there were a few sauces running low and were not refilled. I had to ask. I also had to ask for new plates after we've been using the same plate for a good 40 minutes or so. The last Fogo I went to was in Coral Gables, FL and the service was beyond amazing and they were more crowded than last night! I got a new plate every 15-20 minutes. I was consistently asked if I needed anything and asked if there were any meats I wanted. I even got recommendations from my waiter on what to try. Again were my expectations too high for last night? I don't think so. This isn't a Golden Corral. The holiday decor was very nice and strangely I didn't see any valet. Needless to say, we were all disappointed in last night and we all said, it's time to go somewhere else for our meet up in 2025. read more

Full Churrasco is always the way to go -- it's our go-to every time we visit. The bottom round steak was outstanding: tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The filet mignon, unfortunately, fell short this time due to inconsistent temperatures. A few of the gaucho chefs didn't serve the requested doneness, which led to several cuts being pushed aside. We always ask for chimichurri and A1 when we sit down. This time, we were told they no longer serve A1, which was a big disappointment, especially since we've been able to get it in the past. The manager responded as if they had never carried it, which wasn't the case. She did offer some of their house-made sauces along with "fresh" Brazilian cheese bread, though the bread was not fresh. I ended up requesting more when the next server came by. Plates that had been set aside weren't cleared for quite some time -- they sat there until about 15 minutes before we left, even though it wasn't a particularly busy night. Additionally, we experienced long waits between meat offerings, which was unusual for this location. I'm not saying I won't return, but next time I'll definitely be bringing my own steak sauce -- and maybe a few more people to help attract better service. read more

Went Fri for lunch. The staff was very nice and the staff that comes around and keeps your water filled and provide clean plates were very attentive. Unfortunately, the guachos were extremely slow bringing the meat around. It wasn't too busy in the main dining area but there was a rather large party going on in a different area that they seem to tend to more than the other guest. Lamb chops and one of the beef items came out burnt one time we had to request different meat, which they provided. I'm a fan of the garlic steak, that didn't disappoint. What an absolutely miserable experience. We had such a horrible night here and were literally left speechless by this establishment. 1. Servers do not explain how anything works, which is AWFUL because this is the one place that needs explaining. 2. They reacted rudely and negatively when we said we haven't dined here before after they asked. 3. They ask what food you want before even taking your drink order. We had no time to even look at the menu or sit for a moment before being interrogated about what food we want when we don't even know how the place works. 4. My mother asked for a simple vodka mixed drink, to which the server responded "just order off the menu." 5. We ordered one item and were told they don't have it (it was on the menu). We told her okay, we will only have the salad bar then. She comes back 15 minutes later saying they "found it" but we told her we didn't want it. She marched back to the kitchen and brought the food out and said "you don't want this food cooked for you?" and we said no, we told you we didn't. 6. Server was rude all night. 7. We have visited twice and both visits were for a special occasion, my husband and daughter's birthdays. The Oak Brook location features an open-air churrasco grill in the heart of the dining room where guests can observe the chefs butcher and grill a variety of fire-roasted meats. The main dining room is anchored by a market table with a variety of fruits, salads, cheeses, cold cuts, and spreads. For both visits, we went with the churrasco experience which consists of a continuous tableside service of signature cuts of fire-roasted meat at $44.50 per person. Children 6 and under are complimentary. Some of the meats that we particularly enjoy are the picanha, beef ribs, rack of lamb, lamb chops, and pork belly. As for side dishes, our favorites are the warm pao, fried polenta, and cheese with honey. And in celebrating one's birthday, Fogo de Chao generously provides a complimentary dessert of choice. We have tried both the creme brulee and chocolate brigadeiro. Both of them are excellent choices with the latter being more decadent and rich. Service is attentive, efficient, and superb. Fogo de Chao is the kind of place people rave about and make long trips to eat at. I wasn't sure it would live up to the hype. With Gibsons and Michael Jordan around the corner it had stiff competition. I gotta say, it *almost* does. The meat is great. The entire experience is unique and feels like an adventure. However it loses a star for the service which was Fogo de chaos... our initial waiter seemed to have it together and got our drink order and explained how it worked. The someone else came and explained how it worked again. No big deal, little confusion. After 25 minutes and a constant swirl of servers we still had no drinks, some random guy asked if we wanted more polenta we said yes but never saw it. Finally someone else's drink order arrived after we asked about our drinks. In the end we got our drinks comped so I guess that makes up for it. So I'm on the fence. The salad bar like buffet was filled with fresh and awesome stuff, things I'd never tried before. The meat was pretty good , but we paid close to what we paid for nearby places so I just don't know if I'd do it again. Maybe only for special occasions. read more

Many different beef cuts,pork, lamb, chicken, etc. They also have a huge killer salad bar with way too much to list. As a regular at Fogo, this location has its good days and bad days. I came on Valentine's day & today we had a party of 5 celebrating my brother's birthday who is a vet. Not once were we asked what we were celebrating, hence I had to ask for his dessert. We did the full churrasco experience & best of Brazil as the best cut is always picanha. We don't do filet mignon, lamb chops or chicken. Our favorite drinks continue to be the strawberry hibiscus caipirinha & lemon drop martini. Our service was ok, our starting server eventually disappeared and we didn't know who as attending of us. We felt rushed because they brought the check before we could ask for more drinks. Mind you, it's a party of 5 where 4 of us were still drinking. The restaurant was also not busy at all. Total was about $375 not including tip. Fogo de Chao is a great restaurant, and an amazing carnivore experience. The food is great! I had the following issues on my last visit. First, there was no Kahlua for my coffee...BOOOO! The omelette station only had 1 lady working, and then the hot plate ran out of propane...it took several minutes for them to find a replacement can. The line was already long because there was only 1 person making eggs, so this made the wait even longer, while you're watching your group laughing & talking as you stand in line. Finally while the beef hash is very tasty, I would have loved to have a hashbrown or breakfast potato that didn't have meat in it. Other than that, it was the Fogo de Chao experience and ambiance, and of course I'm going back again. So far I've been to Chicago & Oak Brook, IL, as well as Dallas, TX. read more
