Curtis the waiter made it a great birthday, and watching the teamwork of the whole staff was impressive. Ambiance: Great. A bit dark, but comfortable and good music was playing. I made a reservation for four through OpenTable and, about a week and a half later, called to add two more guests. The GM told me it was their busiest holiday of the year and they were completely booked from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM with no extra seating available. Our reservation was at 5:15 PM, and we arrived on time. We were told our table would be ready shortly, so I walked through the dining room on the way to the restroom and noticed several open tables and a row of extra chairs lined up against the wall. Shortly after, we were seated. The décor was breathtaking, and our server was outgoing and pleasant. She took our drink order promptly, and the drinks were excellent. We ordered several appetizers: Filet Mignon Pot Stickers (not great), Calamari (just okay), and Grilled Oysters (overpowered by hard Parmesan). I also ordered the Jumbo Crab and Corn Bisque. While there was corn in every spoonful, I didn't get a single piece of "jumbo" crab until the very last bite. For our entrées, we ordered two Wagyu Tomahawks for Two (medium) along with two Atlantic cold-water lobster tails. We also chose four sides: Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli, Asparagus, and Brussels Sprouts with bacon. The steaks and lobster were presented on a very large wooden board that barely fit on the table, leaving little room for the sides. Unfortunately, this is where the experience became extremely disappointing. The lobster tails were cold. The steaks were so heavily charred that all I could taste was burnt crust. The mashed potatoes were dry and tasted boxed, and the vegetables were bland and uninspired. We were even asked if we wanted the lobster tails reheated--which was surprising, as properly prepared lobster shouldn't need to be reheated. After that, the mood at our table shifted. We were ready to leave. Our server seemed to feel bad and stopped checking in as frequently, which made it difficult to settle our bill for what turned out to be a very expensive and disappointing evening. We were there for over three hours, and the only accommodation offered was one complimentary round of drinks. It was also clear that the restaurant was never fully booked during our time there, despite being told earlier that they were completely sold out. Sadly, this was not the Valentine's Day experience we had hoped for, and we will not be returning.

We ordered the beach calamari and the shrimp as our appetizers. They were fresh, with the perfect crisp and seasoned perfectly. For our main course we ordered the wagyu smash burgers and upgraded our dish to include the Parmesan fries. The temperature cook on our wagyu burgers were perfect and they were so juicy. Since we were celebrating a birthday we had several cocktails that were quite amazing. Our wait staff checked on us several times throughout the meal which made the experience even more special. They even surprised us with a free birthday ice cream bowl for the birthday girl. Overall an epic experience and I plan on returning to dine in during the evening so I can see the ambiance of all lights they have inside the restaurant which I'm sure is stunning and great for a date night.

The food leans toward coastal-inspired American dishes, and there's a good mix of seafood, shareables, and cocktails to choose from. Everything was well-presented, and the menu offers something for both casual dining and a slightly more upscale night out. The drinks, especially their signature cocktails, definitely add to the experience. My service was superb Rachel my server she was amazing very attentive. I'll definitely be back.

Burr Ridge location has the same upscale atmosphere as others. It was busy and lively for a Tuesday night. We started with the Sweet Chili Calamari and Crab, Shrimp & Lobster Bisque. The bisque was really rich and flavorful. The calamari was fine, although not among the best I've had. For entrées, we went with the Prime Churrasco Grilled Steak and Jambalaya. The steak was tasty and flavorful, but the jambalaya continues to be one of my Cooper's Hawk favorites. We also tried a red wine flight and Prosecco, and finished with crème brûlée. They were all pretty good and rounded out an enjoyable evening. Our server was friendly and attentive - drinks arrived on time, she checked back on our food, and did it all with a smile. The only downside was that she did not seem to have too much knowledge about the drinks. Would I return to the Burr Ridge location? Absolutely, but that's almost beside the point. I'd happily return to Cooper's Hawk regardless of the location. After visiting several of them, the consistently good food, lively atmosphere, wine, and friendly service are what keep bringing me back.

Julie, our server, was polite and extremely knowledgeable about the giant menu. They have a couple specials every night, which is great. I also like that they are pretty flexible about mixing and matching sauces and pastas and proteins. We ordered the shrimp diavolo and my God - these were some of the biggest prawns I've had. I've had tiger prawns in the past, and you need a really big shrimp for something that ends up to be cooked at the size of what we were served today. I have my finger in the photo for size reference. It's not cheap, but we walked away with a bunch of leftovers and so I can't wait to come back when we're craving Italian. The gnocchi is worth a try - called Summer Wind (nutty name but the dish was ‍)

Once we walked in, we waited between 8 to 10 minutes before we were able to flag down someone to give us a table. There was no staff at the reception area, not even at the bar. We were already thinking to leave and walk to the restaurant across the street but it was too cold, so we stayed. Huge mistake. The place was not busy at all, there were only a few tables with customers. For this first (and last) visit, we tried the: Scorpion roll, Las Vegas roll, Crab Rangoons, and the Spicy Ramen Noodle Bowl. By the time we received our dishes, everything was cold. We've tried calling the attention of any server/staff we could see to follow up our orders. The dishes have obviously been sitting somewhere at the counter, that's why they were already cold when they were served at our table. The crab rangoons and the ramen had good flavors, but they were cold. The rolls were just disappointing. I understand that they would probably say that they were understaffed that evening, but I am not sure how that could be justified if the restaurant wasn't even busy with customers. We tried to be understanding with our server, he was pleasant and friendly. Overall, there are so many other Japanese places everywhere. Unfortunately, Wok n Fire Burr Ridge will not be on my list to go back again.
