I've been to Capri a number of times in the past but was happy to revisit as it's been a couple of years. Capri has been the staple Italian spot in Burr Ridge for years. Located in the strip mall adjacent to the Burr Ridge Village Center, parking can be a bit difficult for the weekend's prime time. They do also offer valet for $11. They have a main dining space, bar area, outdoor patio, and four-seasons dining space. The inside is dimly lite but has large trees in the center to create an elevated atmosphere. Our group decided to share a bottle of Pinot Grigio white wine which was placed in an ice bucket tableside to keep chilled. Complimentary bread was offered and all entrees have a starter house salad or soup included in the price. We each got a pasta or chicken entree chose their house salad to start. I got the Rigatoni All Mia which had homemade noodles, fresh vodka sauce, and I asked for sliced sausage over crumbled. The pasta was perfectly al dente and portion was ideal for a hearty meal and leftovers. We each thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. I'm totally surprised at the low Yelp rating. I've been coming to Gigi's Capri for years and have always loved the food and service. We came here for dinner last week. The vibe is very Italian, dimly lit and Sinatra playing. My only criticism is the tables are too close in the main dining room. This time we had Mo as our server and absolutely loved him. He was personable, friendly and provided attentive service. My husband and I each had a glass of Chianti and then shared the eggplant rolls. They were so light and creamy. Hubby had a salad and I had soup. I like that you get one or the other with an entree. My husband and I each had the homemade rigatoni for dinner. That is my absolute favorite pasta at Capri. I have been here MANY times. Lucky enough to meet Gigi on one visit. The food is and always is very well presented and tastes wonderful. At times you cannot believe the flavors in your mouth. It's a wonderful place to go. Make a reservation, show up on time and enjoy. BUT, EXCEPT for this past weekend - it was insulting. $400 dinner and they came to our table and told us we had to leave because they had to seat others. We were there 2 hours. It's not right. We made a telephone reservation directly with Capri by Gigi/Capri Ristorante Burr Ridge for a Saturday night at 6:30. This was a special dinner for my business partner and his wife in appreciation of our years of our affiliation. When we arrived, the restaurant was crowed, and the hostess rudely and unapologetically advised they were running 25 minutes late and suggested we go next door to the bar they owned, and they would text me when our table was ready. After 30 minutes we returned to the restaurant and when I inquired when we might be seated, I was told it would be at least another 30 minutes. As we walked out, I told the hostess this was totally unacceptable, and we would never return. Waiting in a crowed restaurant or bar for over 1 hour past a reservation amply demonstrates the restaurant is willing to over book, patrons be damned. If a restaurant accepts a reservation request, it should only do so if it has a table available at that time. It is understandable on a busy night you may have to wait 10-15 minutes, but 1 hour. No way. A restaurant that is more concerned with profits than patrons' well-being should not be patronized. Perhaps Capri will begin to understand if enough customers walk out if their reservation are not being honored, however I doubt it since the owner Gigi also thought it good PR to post that he was "very honored" that the convicted felon O.J. We've been going to Capri for years and always excellent consistent food it's one of my wife's favorite restaurants and I forgot I've never reviewed it but after last night I had to give a big shout out to GG and the whole staff and especially to the braciole and neckbones dish I had which I commented to my friend was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. This was a must-stop destination during our trip for my husband and it did not disappoint. We came in on a Friday night and they were super busy. We were helped promptly by one of the hostesses and seated within a few minutes. A highlight for my husband was actually being greeted by Gigi during our short wait for a table and having him check in on us a few times during dinner. He was very welcoming and personable. Once we sat down, everything during our meal was exceptional: service, food, and ambiance. Our server was friendly, attentive, and efficient with requests. The meal was the best we had on our trip and consisted of: - Calamari Capri - Grilled Octopus - Lobster Diavolo - Fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp and Scallop - Cannoli - Key Lime Pie The taste and quality of the food was phenomenal. Because of the strip mall situation, you may have to walk to find a spot, it's all good. I suggest you reserve when you come in. If you're the first one in the party, they also won't seat you, unless you tell them. Food is fantastic. I have gone where I ordered a bunch of appetizers and mains to split, and I've ordered meals. Both options are great options because there is a such a selection! These portions aren't small. They're a great size for you to eat and share. Their mussels are beautifully cooked and pastas are always made perfectly. When I ordered my chicken parmesan, they gave me a chefs selection of pasta. My selection was rigatoni, which felt a bit weird because I was expecting a long pasta. Just be sure you chose what you want if you care. The pasta was still delicious and I got over the shape really quick! :) If you order any appetizer, get the baked clams. The lobster ravioli is also an A+ dish! They have a full bar, and you can get any drink you would like. I prefer their wines. You can also finish off your meal with a selection of desserts. Their tiramisu is light and very tasty. My party of 4 had a good dinner at Capri in Birr Ridge and went next door to "Are We Live" which is part of Capri after dinner. We were standing at the bar the whole time and we were there and a waitress that kept coming up to get drinks to distribute to patrons in the bar. Every time she came to bar she said "excuse me" very rudely. That waitress told her friend/bartender to get me out of there. Here comes a 250-300 lb bouncer who didn't even try to say "come in you gotta go" or anything, instead he physically grabbed me roughly with both hands wrapped around my arms and forcefully moved/lifted/dragged me across the bar. I was absolutely mouthing off at this point due to the violent nature of this bouncer. A bit spicy, with a nice hint of lemon and garlic, the calamari was incredibly tender and in totality, the best I've ever had.
