We found a lovely spot in La Grange called GP Italiano. We sat at the bar chatting Emily who was warm and welcoming! She is also co-owner along with her husband, Chef Joe. After some wonderful recommendations from Emily, we ordered a few dishes and enjoyed each one more than the next. And you absolutely have to order one of their delicious pizzas, cooked in their beautiful brick-oven pizza. We're thrilled we found this gem of a spot and highly recommend you visit asap!

Pre-meal: Reservations are through website though place not crowded on an early Sunday night. Room: Clean and modern. Nice light fixtures and green wall. Pretty bar area but it's set up for eating. AC was very cold. Picture-taking: A bit dark but doable. Beverages: Didn't look. Menu: Contemporary Italian. Apps, a few salads, a large number of pastas, wood-fired pizza, some entrees. I didn't look at desserts. It's not your "traditional" Italian spot. Food: The beet salad was great. Caesar salad sported an ice-cold, fresh tasting combo of chopped romaine and baby arugula, delicious dressing and lots of parmigiana. All very good except the croutons were stale and I had to pull them out. The carbonara seemed fairly legit but the guanciale was strangely bland. The radiatori pasta with Nduja, shrimp and tomatoes was also not nearly sauced enough. We did not have dessert. Service: Fine. Price: Moderate. Value: Could be better. Summary: The devil is in the details.

My boyfriend and I came in later on a Friday and they still sat us. Great server and great food! We especially loved the honey butter with the bread and the pasta. Fresh basil is always a must on pasta and they made it sooo good. Ambiance is romantic and lovely

Joined the GP staff for Valentine's Day this year and was not disappointed! Upon entry, the restaurant has a modern, fresh look to it. Every table was practically taken which was a great sign. We started off with the fried calamari which were good, but seemed to have been sitting for a little. The texture ate a little soggy, but overall, the pairings of the dipping sauces were great. All pastas are made fresh for the day and you can tell! For the entree, I ordered the lasagnette which was excellent. The portion was hefty too, definitely good for a hungry soul or a take home baggy for leftovers. I definitely recommend ordering any of their pastas; they all looked divine when placed on my neighboring tables. My boyfriend ordered the n'duja and ricotta pizza which was good too! Wood-oven pizza cooked in a proper oven, you can tell the dough sits longer than most pizza places. The dough ate light and fluffy, and very easy to go down. We finished off with a special black forest cake (valentines day special) which was good, but a little sweeter than anticipated. We'd like the try the olive cake or the pistachio pie next time. Overall, we enjoyed our meal! Worth the trip for a really good pasta dish; make the trip in and enjoy dinner here.

Decided to try somewhere new for our anniversary and could not rave about GP Italiano more! Not only was the food amazing and fresh tasting, our cocktails had just the right punch and service was impeccable. The restaurant itself is photo worthy, clean, and a great atmosphere for a special occasion or simple date night out. We were delighted to see a mix of couples, families, and friends gathering. Truly one of our new neighborhood go to's!

My husband and I drive past often, and have been meaning to give it a try! Tonight was the night. We are always skeptical when trying new Italian restaurants because we have our tried and true staples. I must say, we were delighted with GP's selection and quality of food. We ordered the bread service, meatballs, and grilled calamari for appetizers. The calamari had a yummy risotto in the middle! The meatballs were yummy, but it was not our favorite vodka sauce. For our entrees we had the agnolotti and the gnocchi, and they were both so flavorful. Our whole order came to about $110, and I feel that is a fair price for the quality and quantity of food. We will certainly be back, and we hope to dine inside next time. When I went to pick up our food, the inside of the restaurant looked so beautiful! If you have driven past like us and thought about going, this is your sign to give it a try!

Lemon Chicken.... risotto was amazing. Nice lemon flavor.

Came here with four girlfriends. Was a Wednesday night. Wasn't very busy. Service was good. Food was great! We had the ricotta, beet salad, and prosciutto pizza to start. Then we each got a main course. I had the lasagnette. Was fantastic! I also tried all the other dishes and all were delish. Posted pics of each. Also was nice as it's half price bottles of wine on Wednesdays!

Good food, lovely place. We had the pizza tonight--delicious. The spumoni pie was delicious, and our daughter loves the bombolonis.

Hands down my favorite pizza in the suburbs. I haven't tried anything besides the pizza and salad and both were delicious.

Any parking avaialable besides on LaGrange ave?

Plenty of free parking a couple of blocks away. Same side as the restaurant towards the downtown area is a large parking structure.

Quick service with very attentive wait staff. They serve brunch till 2pm, lunch, and dinner. I ordered their homemade lemonade. It was pretty tasty with the perfect balance of tart and sweet. I also ordered a small Luca pizza. I enjoyed it however I think the pizza sauce may have been missing a bit more garlic or basil. I would eat pizza here again. I liked the atmosphere as it felt warm and inviting. A beautiful bar area with televisions. A traditional Italian spot. They sale bottles of alcohol to go if you needed to entertain. The staff is friendly and helpful. We made reservations as it can be pretty busy. Our table for 6 was the table right at the entrance where the customers come into the dining area. Also it's right where the staff comes from the kitchen with the food. We were right by the fireplace. Next time I want a table in the back area or just away from the kitchen and entrance aisle. Had to hang up my coat as staff bringing food was rubbing up on my coat as they walked by. We ordered a sausage and bacon pizza and a grilled vegetable pizza. The meat pizza was heavy but salty if you eat more than one slice. But the little guy wanted it. The grilled vegetable pizza was the bomb. You wouldn't think you were eating veggies. The crust on both were thin and crispy. You have to eat this at the restaurant. Takeout wouldn't be crispy anymore. Great place.

Posto 31 is located in Lagrange Park which is just slightly outside and west of the city. Their restaurant week deal is $45 per person for dinner and every adult in the party is required to participate. We tried the following: 1) Pork belly with a brown butter sweet potato mash and apple slaw - This was a delicious and refreshing appetizer. The fat isn't excessive and there is a good sear with the pork belly. I think it was different in a sense that it didn't exactly go with the Italian theme. 2) Arancini with chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, and marinara. This is the standard fare and you can't go wrong with this selection. 3) Faroe Island salmon with squash puree and Brussel sprout slaw. The salmon was well executed and I loved how it was paired with the slaw. 4) Arrabbiata with squid ink linguini and jumbo shrimp. This was the star of the night and what drew our attention when we first reviewed the restaurant week menu. It is rare to find squid ink linguini in the city and neighboring suburbs. The portion was huge and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We are already planning a return to order this again. 5) Tiramisu was the standard fare and once again, the portion was huge. We demolished it though. 6) Cookie skillet had a square of chocolate chip cookie topped with candied pretzels, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. We did not get to try it because our girls just took it to town. So needless to say, it was thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the kids' an eight inch pepperoni pizza. It was more than enough for our two girls to share.

It's a shareable, tapas-style dining experience, which makes it ideal for groups. We ordered the Fried Mozz Brick, which was good but didn't quite wow our group. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, always a go-to for me and this one met my expectations. For pizzas, we tried the Pepper Only, the Sausage Fest, and The Original Mr. Beef, and that one ended up being my favorite. Definitely the star of the night. The drink menu is also great. Lots of options depending on what you're in the mood for. And as a mom, I have to mention the bathroom situation. Although it's downstairs, it's clean, spacious and private, and they have a changing table, which honestly makes such a difference. Believe it or not, not every place thinks about that, and it's always appreciated. Overall, a great spot for groups with good food, good drinks, and an aesthetic interior that left me wanting to go back for more.
