Tried Denucci's early without a reservation and got the vibe that maybe we had interrupted something... despite the place being empty. Service moved at a glacial pace. Food took forever to come out, which honestly makes me nervous about what happens when they're actually busy. Plenty of staff around, but the overall polish and attentiveness just didn't match the prices or the atmosphere. That said, the food absolutely delivered. The chicken, eggplant parmesan, and grilled calamari were all rich, buttery, and delicious. Let's just say they are not shy with the butter, but somehow it works. Bottom line: the kitchen is the star here. We'll definitely be back, but with adjusted expectations on timing and service. read more

We were hoping our last visit was a one off, but we tried it again and didn't have a good experience. It is so loud my watch was warning of hearing damage. We ordered the $14 bruschetta and entrees then sat and waited 40 min until anything showed up. The bruschetta showed up and it was just 3 tiny pieces of bread. I honestly thought it was a mistake it was so small but i see from other pictures here it wasn't. They sneak in a 3% "surcharge" a manager needs to remove. We got overcharged for the kids meatballs as well, but we just wanted to leave at that point so we paid extra. We've tried putting our info on the receipt to join their rewards program but it never works. I think they're 0 and 4 on that one. Sadly we're giving up on this local spot. Celebrated a birthday here and they were amazing in making the dinner special. The food was great and perfectly portioned. The servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and surprised us with a birthday dessert. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area! read more

We went to DeNucci's for my husband's birthday, and we were impressed with the whole experience. It was already packed at 5:15, but staff did a great job keeping pace to turn tables. Service was excellent and attentive, and the food was all incredible. We especially loved the pizza, and my kiddos enjoyed the buttered noodles and chicken strips. What's more, everyone acknowledged my husband's birthday (that I had put in the notes) and brought him gelato to celebrate. We will absolutely be coming back again - everything was fantastic! read more

Third time here and have enjoyed myself every time! I celebrated my birthday here and the staff made sure my dinner was special. I had an Aperol Spritz which was made very well. My mom had the limoncello spritz and enjoyed that. We ordered the pesto pomodorini pizza, lumache alla vodka with crumbled sausage, rigatoni carbonara, and the lobster risotto which was the special on Saturday. Food is fresh and delicious. Monday has the best pizza special. The tavern style, crispy cracker thin. Sausage- giardiniera is the way to go. I enjoyed the tiramisu and the sundae. Pasta lemone was bright and delicious. I really enjoyed the broiled chicken dish, too. They have a very nice Italian wine selection especially, by bottles. There are 2 floors and no elevators. 2.5 stars. I'll keep it to the point. Drink, Calabria Margarita. Couldn't exaggerate if I tried. This tasted like a barley spicy 1 oz pour of tequilla and the rest of the glass filled with water. No citrus, no sugar. I'd like to think the drink was made wrong but based on the other food I'll say not. I'd normally have 3 cocktails over dinner but this was so bad I didnt even want to chance another. Meatballs. Flavor wasnt off putting, just barley ok. Consistency is an overworked hard ball yet a weird rubbery chew and spongy at the same time. Cacio Arancini, mushy consistency with a mayo sauce on the bottom pretending to be Cacio sauce. Get rid of that sauce its ridiculous. Chicken parm. Again not offensive but super basic. Needs to be pounded thinner. The mozzarella on top was shredded and barely melted. Haven't been to olive garden in 30 years but I would say this is 1 step above it at best. Bolognese pasta. Again, just ok flavor. Pasta was a good 2 min shy of aldente Soft outside almost crunchy inside. Pistachio blonde. Completely miss named. It should say cold blonde cookie (they are supposed to be warm) with a scoop of vanilla and a few pistachio crumbles on top. The way its written makes it seem like it would have pistachio Gelato with it. Overall I wouldn't go back and I truly get baffled by how restaurants like this stay open and have repeat customers. Its simply not good. Management take note if you read this because these are constructive criticisms that you could fix. read more

The restaurant recently opened and we snagged a reservation at the last minute for my husband's birthday. We didn't realize it was the official opening night! They were off to a good start by having the restaurant overstaffed that night to address any issues! While I had one dish I didn't love, the rest was great! Our server noticed that I didn't finish the dish and quickly offered to make an adjustment for me. We were frequent diners at the restaurant that used to be at this address and love the new design. It has the same bones, but with a brand new fresh feel and modern ambiance. read more

My husband called to make a dinner reservation for my birthday, given that large party reservations need to be made over phone. On the day of, we go to the restaurant only to find out the person that was supposed to enter the reservation never did their job. A party of 10 (and 3 children) and it was my birthday- they were unable to accommodate. They told us we can wait outside (30 minutes) while they figure it out. The hostess and one of the managers, was extremely rude. An important note is that it was raining outside, they clearly saw that we had children, and the restaurant was empty at that time. We will definitely not be giving this location any business, and will absolutely not recommend to our friends and family. As a Hinsdale resident, this was a very disappointing experience. read more

Placed a reservation 5 days ahead of time for my wife's birthday. Apparently, no one at DeNucci's actually reserved a table for us. We were told at least a 30 minute wait, with small children standing outside in the rain, and not so much as an apology from the hostess (I showed her the phone call reserving a table 5 days earlier). We went around the corner to Prime--they apologized FOR DENUCCI's--and had us seated in 2 minutes. Forget this place. Any of the other restaurants around here have better service, or at least the basic courtesy to say "sorry about the mixup." read more

Our experience was very disappointing. We attended the after-party for the Hinsdale Kitchen Walk, and it did not meet expectations. The food selection was extremely limited, consisting only of pizza, bruschetta, rice balls, and bread, which was underwhelming for the event. Tickets were $75 per person and included only two drink tickets each. The wine selection was also very poor quality. Overall, the event did not feel worth the cost, and we would not return. read more

My husband and I have ordered take out from here more than I would like to admit. Every time we switch up the meals so we can try the whole menu. We can't say enough good things about it, hence why we keep coming back! Truly haven't had a bad meal yet, and we are almost through the whole menu. The salads, pizzas, pastas, apps - all so good!!!! The meatballs remind me of my grandpas, the pizza is now in my top fav for the western burbs, pastas have all been great. It's super nice inside! Happy they are out here in the burbs now. read more

Food was decent, not amazing. The noise level on the second level is too much. It was too loud to speak to others at my table.

We had been waiting for this spot to open- eager to try it. Inside looks somewhat similar to the previous Italian restaurant that was there, but still nice and refreshed. Appetizers arrived quite cold, but we had waited SO long for them, we pushed through and ate them. Cocktails were interesting- I would suggest sticking to wine vs. a cocktail. Entree's were "ok," but again took SO long to arrive. We really wanted to like it, but this isn't going to be a repeat for us. As locals, we wish it the best of luck- and hope they can improve. read more

So this was our 3rd time dining at DeNucci's and the first 2 experiences were great but tonight was a disaster to say the least. Service was so slow it was nearly non existent. I finally stood up and asked someone if they could get our waiter.. Then the food was not cooked well and the list goes on and on. We love the ambience and were really hoping that this was a Restaurant that would be able to stick around for a while in Hinsdale, but after our experience tonight there is no way DeNucci's will be able to survive very long with that below average type of service and food quality. read more

Second time having pizza from here. It was excellent! Now my favorite pizza whenever I visit my family in Hinsdale.

Overall, it's fine. But anymore, fine is not really good enough. The ambiance and service are good. The food is pretty good but nothing to shout about. Like the previous restaurant, though, they do not offer bread at the table. I think this is kind of cheap. I had the chicken parm, which was good, but it did not come with a side of pasta. That was an additional $10, which is outrageous. For the money, Il Mio in Clarendon Hills or Antico Posto in Oak Brook are far better. read more

Just carried out tonight. Chopped salad was the only thing that was good. Two pizzas: very veggie, and sausage very disappointing. Dough was not tasty, toppings just ok, really didn't have any taste. My review will be quite vague. I do not want to keep anyone from dining here and forming their own opinion. Wife & I dined here, Fri 2/13. It was very busy for the 80 or so mins that we were there. Both of us had a few questions about items on the menu. Felt our sever was guessing and seemed very uncomfortable with simple questions such as, "tell me about the sauce, is it a thicker tomatoey red sauce." That was one of three basic simple questions. Didn't ask what part of Italy they source their tomatoes from or anything odd. After a slight pause we got a guess of "yes." I know it was a guess or the kitchen messed up. I ordered that particular entree and there was pretty much no sauce on the noodles. Maybe they ran out? Didn't taste bad just was a smaller portion than what I was hoping for at $36. Stick to beer or wine. Cocktails are very short poured and average at best for $17. If you're fine with 3 small sips for $17 then get a cocktail. On to dessert. Ordered one to split. Took about 20 mins to get and the simple request that we had was not done. I asked the server why my simple request was not done. Reply was "they tried, please enjoy." The quality here simply does not match the price. Il Poggiolo was definitely better for me and as a local will be missed. Might be better for others. Simply didn't cut it for us. Needless to say.
